A word from The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges
Chef Jean‑Georges introduces his latest venture, a casually elegant restaurant ensconced in the picturesque town of Pound Ridge, New York. Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

Food quality not as good as 2 months ago. Service sloppy & below par considering price of food. In June , the shrimp & avocado salad was a "wow" dish. This visit, shrimp were much smaller---as was the portion size, & salad not as good. Nytimes reviewer rated the pork chop excellent. Mine was flavorful, dry, & tough.

Overall this restaurant is amazing. This was my second visit. First lunch. The starters were excellent. Bread is fabulous. The steak sandwich was just ok and the chopped salads were overdressed and had way too much cheese even for one of us who asked for light cheese. The blue cheese was very salty and overpowered the simple salad. Dessert was amazing! Will go back for sure

We asked for a quiet table because our previous experience in the upstairs dining room was quite loud. We were seated in the bar which was just right. The service was excellent, never smothering, very attentive. The food was delicious, the roasted hake and Parmesan Chicken are our favorites. After overhearing our conversation, we were celebrated with mini-cupcakes for our wedding anniversary. We will be back!

Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Service was excellent and sommelier was terrific. The appetizers were very good - pizza and hamachi but the main courses were just fair. The salmon was rather ordinary and the corn pudding which accompanied it was much too sweet. The Parmesan crusted chicken was good but the sauce was overwhelming . Desserts were great- strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake with marshmallow icing. Would not rush back but would try again. Again the staff is terrific and very welcoming.

My sister in law is a frequent diner here with her husband and suggested the Inn at Pound Ridge for my wife's birthday dinner. One word: Outstanding. The food, drinks, service are outstanding. The valet parking guys are outstanding. We will making the short drive from Greenwich to this gem many times.

I have been there several times and for being a Jean- Georges restaurant, it has a long way to go before it can be classified as a top notch establishment!!! Service is lousy (and its a reoccurring thing!), on our last vist, our appetizers were brought at different times and they forgot one appetizer and when they brought out the crispy hamachi, they forgot the chopsticks! The white wine was room temperature and the main course was just ok, nothing special! The structure and setting of restaurant are beautiful ! I recommend it for small bitedrinks only more of a social place! The small details besides the food and service is what makes a place special! I wish they would pay attention to these important details that make a difference!

Enjoyed a lovely brunch on Sunday. Food, value and service were top notch. Only one negative...the Ginger Margarita was really good but it is served in the smallest glass I have ever seen. Priced at $15 which becomes about $20 including tax and gratuity, I felt I really got ripped off.

If you like fresh, locally grown and impeccably prepared breakfast I submit that the the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon and roasted potatoes is one of the best I have ever had. Perfectly poached fresh eggs, paired with a generous salmon are nestled on a lightly toasted English muffin. While the potatoes are slightly salted, you will eat every single one. I also recommend the Peekytoe Crab Crostini with Garlic Aioli and Crispy Sushi with Hamachi as appetizers. First time I ever had appetizers before brunch but it is well worth it.

Love the ambience, but more importantly, love the food. All dishes are delicious. We especially love the calamari, pizza, watermelon salad, tuna tartare, burger, hake, and of course, the pork chop. Always end with the Sundae! spectacular.

Dinner on Saturday night was wonderful. Highly recommend the cheese and meat board as a table starter. Order the watermelon salad before it's gone for the season. The calamari is additive and perfectly crisp without a hint of oil. The pork chop and salmon were both executed perfectly even though I missed not having the crispy skin on my salmon. I figured it was removed for presentation purposes. My only compliant is the wait time between courses. Took 25mins for the cheese plate to come and it would have been nice to linger with my wine and eat the cheese. The waiter Sean who was excellent did apologize for the delay. The other courses came out at avoid pace. Service has really improved from my last visit in May. I will be back.

Having dined at Jean-Georges city restaurants, it is a delight to find a new one in a country-setting. The menu is bountiful and diverse. Peekytoe Crab crostini and siilky Foie Gras crostini first-courses are outstanding. A variety of seafood abounds and the tasty parmesan-crusted chicken heads up beef and lamb choices. Worth the driving distances from Fairfield and Westchester Counties.

I found the staff very accommodating and the design of the space well thought out. The view of the kitchen walking through was great; it was well-ordered and impeccably clean. The food, however, was not up to expectations. The foie gras was overpowered by the strawberries, and the zucchini cake was a bit dry. On the positive side, the salmon was cooked exactly as requested and the corn pudding worked well with it. I was hoping to be blown away, but was somewhat let down. We will undoubtedly try the Inn again, to see if the food comes along with the rest of the operation.

Disappointed in this restaurant - very noisy. Food ok - nothing special and quite expensive. Truffle pizza was good, but not worth $19.00. A friend had chopped salad with shrimp, but there was little in the salad but greens and shrimp. I had hanger steak on flatbread - asked for the meat to be medium rare, and it came out VERY rare! One of us ordered a beer which was never served. I suggested to the waiter that black napkins would be nice since I had lint all over me from the white napkins. He informed us that black napkins were available, but he neglected to offer them. Apricot sorbet was delicious, but too large a portion for 1 person (maybe a smaller portion at less than $8.00?) Coffee is $5.00 a cup, and no refill offered.

Service was professional without being snobby. I have not had gazpacho in years - the two raspberries floating on top were the special surprise. Sandwiches yummy. We asked the waiter to describe the Croque M sandwich. When it was served it brought back memories from the 1960's when I would dine with my family at the NYAC on Central Park South - the sandwich on the menu was listed as the NYAC sandwich - then became the Monte Cristo at Long Island diners - but I admit, the Inn at Pound Ridge put a new spin on it. So, my days as a young teenager and now being 67 yrs old, the Croque M is still one of my favorites. Drinks, though pricey, high quality mixing. The valet parkers were professional and extremely careful with our car.

We were thrilled. The space is beautiful with all the attention to minute details that sets off a special space. It is both inviting and formal, yet comfortable and private. The food is perfect for the country/family setting, offering something delicious for everyone. No one had a complaint! (A rarity for New Yorkers!) The calamari was the best we had ever tasted! The crab crostini, great and the sushi delicious. The lamb chops and porkchop were tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. My daughter loved her pizza. Then came desserts! The peach cobbler won the night, followed by the chocolate cake with roasted marshmallow frosting then doughnuts. No complaints! The wait staff was friendly and good. We'll easily make the ten mile trek again.

Our overall rating would have been a 5 except the restaurant, even after multiple reminders, forgot that it was our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We sent a note through OpenTable when we made the reservation and reminded them again when we called to confirm our reservation. This was a very big night for us and for the restaurant to forget it was our anniversary was a big disappointment. Other anniversaries and birthdays around us were noted, so we were even more annoyed.

The restaurant is not easy to find- the sign is almost unreadable in the day time, the food was delicious but it is so dark- few if any lights- all tiny vigil candles and we were taken to a part of the restaurant downstairs that we called the dungeon and were put in a corner- and we had a reservation weeks earlier. We asked for another table,a bit brighter and the hostess had to ask if we could. However, the service and the food were both impeccable but I would happily return but only in the day for lunch when I can find my parking stub without taking everything out of my bag.

Nicely decorated, upstairs has a bar feel, downstairs opens to outside. Staff friendly, although the hostess was somewhat chilly. Service was attentive. Olives to start were a little cloying for our taste. The chicken with parmesan crust was excellent, as was grilled beef tenderloin with squash, although the portion on the beef was stingy; sides of broccoli and mashed potatoes, both excellent. Pinot Blanc from Alsace available by the glass was very good and a decent pour. It was crowded for a Monday night, seemed pleasantly quiet, hope it stays so on a Saturday night. The bill was $140.00 for 2, with tip and drinks, which is expensive, but worth it for a nice evening, one of the better options in northern Westchester. Sent from my iPhone

Went at6:30 sat night. Left at 9:30. Had to wait 45 minutes for main course after starters. We complained - the dinner came right out. But overcooked. I kept my lobster which still good but tough- I needed a steak knife to cut through it. My friend sent his pork chop back. His replacement hamburger - he wanted something quick- was tasteless according to him. The French fries were poor - very soggy. The maitre'd did not seem to have a clue about properly fried potatoes. The food obviously was ready sooner but sitting in the kitchen awaiting the waitress to fetch it. They did not charge me for my lobster But not a great experience. I love JG restaurants in city. This one is inferior. No reason to return

Again, the food here was excellent, particularly the pork chop wrapped with prosciutto. Only disappointment was the small and quite ordinary lobster, very overpriced. But, why must you always be asked to wait in the bar for 15 minutes, even though the tables are sitting empty, including the one you will ultimately get? Answer -- get you to squeeze in another round of drinks. This is just wrong on every level, and it puts a real damper on an otherwise excellent restaurant.
