Chef Jean‑Georges introduces his latest venture, a casually elegant restaurant ensconced in the picturesque town of Pound Ridge, New York. Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

Party of 6 came to the restaurant for the first time. We had a great round table to taste all the different lunches we had. Enjoyed the warm and comfortable feeling to the Inn. Will come back soon when all fireplaces are glowing. A little too noisy upstairs.

We have been keen on going to The Inn for quite a few months since we found out about it from friends. Finally got a table of 4 at 530pm on Sunday. It suited us and we ordered a couple of vegetarian dishes, a couple of fish dishes and a couple of starters. Every dish was just delicious. My daughter said that this is the best meal she has ever had. The Malbec from Argentina was great. We have to do this again soon

My wife & I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary at The Inn at Pound Ridge on Sunday, 10/26, and it was a most enjoyable experience. This was our first visit to the restaurant, and we saved it for this special occasion. We ate in the upstairs dining room and our server was most accommodating. We dined on Kale Salad & Pappardelle starters, Beef Tenderloin entrees with Sauteed Spinach, and Salted Caramel Sundaes and Espressos for our desserts. Our server also brought us two mini cupcakes on a plate with "Happy Anniversay" inscribed in chocolate syrup. We left the restaurant very satisfied, and it was a perfect way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We look forward to returning again in the very near future with friends.

Food and ambiance are both phenomenal - great for special occasion. Bartenders act as if they would rather be anywhere but there..... very slow to take orders and seemed to have attitudes. We sat at the bar for dinner so had to deal with them throughout our meal. Table service is much better - waitstaff serving the tables were great last time we ate here. Will definitely go back but avoid the bartenders.

as you enter there is a vibrant scene of attractive customers, a packed bar and cocktail lounge. We sampled two signature cocktails and they were great! Bartenders were accessible and on target with service and suggestions. As we are seated for dinner i thought the tables were cramped and the place, was loud. The food was presented nicely and very good…not great! I was expecting better and that was disappointing. I was expecting great from Jean-Georges. Service was just ok. there are too many waiters, servers, busboys, running around. There is this whirlwind of frenzied staff around you and their knowledge about the food could be stronger. The desert was very good. Overall a good experience, Yes I will come back.

  • Average Brunch at the INN
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

With a name like Jean-Georges, my husband and I arrived at the Inn expecting an exceptional dining experience... it was very average. The decor is wood/chalet... but NO CHARM... there is not one photograph or interesting work of art on the walls, unless you include the large acrylic-painted work on the back wall as anything worth noting.... a little shocked at who decided that NO COLOR or artwork was a good idea... boring is what comes to mind. The food was good, no complaints in that department... however, service was slow.... nice waiter but it appeared there were plenty of people to fill glasses of water but not enough wait staff...The place is relying on the name to keep it going, and it may work.... but we will not be back.

Waiters and chefs could not have done more to ensure a delicious and safe dining experience. It was totally their pleasure to make sure we felt comfortable and knew they truly understand how to take care of our dietary needs. The chef made an absolutely delicious meal for our son who has life threatening food allergies. We will certainly recommend The Inn, and come back soon! I am the founder of Divvies, a nut, egg & dairy free bakery. My philosophy is that "eating and celebrating should always be an inclusive experience" (not exclusive only to those without special dietary needs). The Inn truly could not have done more to make our meal more inclusive. We are extremely grateful to all at the Inn who made our dinner beyond special.

Maybe the good food is all we should have expected and the food was just fine. The dining environment was very ordinary/boring...just like so many restaurants that have opened recently. Prices were reasonable. Service was OK but not attentive. This restaurant is overly impressive with its newly acquired reputation.

Overall, I was pleased with lunch. The server could have been a bit more attentive. The noise level is a problem; you can barely hear yourself speak. I was there on a Thursday at 1; and it was uncomfortable noisy. I was also disappointed that although we did not have a dessert, I had mentioned in the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and it would have been a nice gesture to serve cookies or a few bits of something sweet with our coffee for the celebration. ( many other restaurants do this). I would come back, but I might hesitate for dinner unless it is early on in the week as a concern for the noise level.

From the first bite to the last, this pizza blows me away. I've had it four times now, and the pleasure I take in every bite has not diminished a bit. The crust, the cheese, the delicious bits of greens that it comes garnished with--worth every dollar of its price. When I'm down to the last quarter, I hate to see it go.

I have dined here several times. I think that should say it all. It is such a special place. The staff never disappoints, is always accommodating and helpful, the front desk, is amazing. I feel JGV has satisfied me in all ways possible. I am totally at home, and comforted in this space, and am always happy during the entire meal. I love the restaurant. It dishes up excellent food, in every way, which with wonderful service, is most important to me.

My husband and I made reservations in advance for a romantic dinner for two. We arrived about 5 minutes before our reservation time. We checked in with the hostess and noticed we were some of the first dinner service diners to arrive...not a problem, we hung out in the lounge. However, we were made to wait about 20 minutes until our table was ready, although half the dining room was empty and while larger parties were seated immediately downstairs. This was frustrating since the whole point of a reservation system at a high end restaurant is so you don't have to wait excessively. The food definitely made up for the spotty service! The Peekytoe Crab Crostini was AMAZING and the lobster entree was cooked to perfection!

While the food was delicious, our experience at The Inn was disappointing. I would not go back. We were treated like tourists unworthy of the place. Upon arrival, we were led to a table in the bar area. I asked to be seated in the main dining room and was told the downstairs dining room was closed for a private event and they were only seating parties of 4 or more in the upstairs dining room. I mentioned that it was our anniversary and the hostess said she'd see what she could do. She came back and said she was able to rearrange things to accommodate us. When we were finally brought into the dining room, we saw three other tables of two already seated. This left a sour taste in our mouths that no amount of delicious food could erase.

Very solid, though not exceptional food. Excellent service. Ambiance depends very much on where one is seated. Unfortunately, we were seated downstairs in the large room that had a few too many tables. Felt crowded where we were seated. Will return but will request seating upstairs or in one of the other rooms downstairs.

Much too noisy! I could hardly talk to my companion and hear his reply. It is also too dark in many places such as the upstairs dining room where we were seated first, then on the stairs going down and all the way to where we were reseated as well as to the rest rooms. This is dangerous for older people. The rest rooms had no signs directing you nor on the outer doors. You had to guess or snare a rushing past wait staff person. I also felt that the food offerings were much too fancy. Some simpler foods on the menu other than hamburgers and pizza would be appreciated. Those you can get anywhere. I think that this is a needed place for the area residents, particularly young folks. The place was packed! I suggest that older folks stay away.

The food and service were disappointing for the four of us. The meal started off well with a table share of sweet pea guacamole. Appetizers followed in a timely fashion. The food was good, not extraordinary. It was the main course that forced the train completely off the track. We waited approximately 30 minutes between courses. When the food did finally arrive the pasta had congealed and was cool. The lamb chops were barely warm. My pork chop that was ordered medium rare was cooked medium. I might give this restaurant another chance but not for a $350 dinner, perhaps I'll try lunch.

Simple , fresh good food is the best as I had experienced growing up in the midwest and the Hamptons >>>WHEN THEY WEREN"T FULL of GARMENTOS eeeww 7th Ave undressed!! We had the a great experience this past Sunday. We decided to order several smaller dishes . All were prepared wonderfully and the beer recommendation by the waiter Sean, was spot on. Chef Paul came out and talked with us for a few minutes. He explained how the food he prepared went well together . He also recommended a few deserts that would complement the meal . His recommendations were outstanding. Next time we go there we will ask him to select our menu again. Having dinner this way was fun. It was great having chef Paul plan our meal loved it. Will do this again soon.

Jean-Georges needs to pay some attention to this restaurant, particularly the kitchen. We went to lunch there, and I ordered the burger. I asked for it to be medium-well, and it came out rare. Sent it back, and it came back again rare. The staff was accommodating, but I got the sense that the people in the kitchen were determined to serve the burger the way they thought it should be. We cancelled a dinner reservation that we had made for the next week. I doubt that we will be back.

Appetizers were excellent and large except calamari. Signature cocktails and wine pour very good. Cocktails tall skinny glass with a straw and lots of ice. Just okay. Dinner EXCELLENT. All enjoyed selections. Hake was best. Pork chop second. Sides were tiny and meant for one. Not needed with hake. Desserts big and could have been shared. Many servers. A little confusing at times. All in all a great evening and will definitely go back.
