The Hungry Cat - Santa Monica Canyongreat casual diningThis is an excellent casual restaurant on PCH at the north end of Santa Monica. The service is wonderful, and the food is very good, with an emphasis on oysters and fish. Don't go for the view. There is none. Go for a relaxed dining experience. The tables aren't jammed together. So nice to dine in a neighborhood restaurant and avoid the larger, noisier places on the main strip. Took two teens who could care less about fine dining. Luckily, they have great sandwiches on the menu for dinner, so all were happy. All food is fresh, with locally grown produce. Scallops on pea risotto were delicious. The house made chorizo dish was a bit too salty for our tastes. The waiter was great about it and took it off our bill.
