I loved the Mother's Day menu, it had something for everyone without breaking the bank. I got an elegant dinner out, fantastic sunset and delicious food for a great price. Not a place to take kids but a better spot for adults and those looking for a romantic dinner. Although it isn't very quite but it was nice feeling like we didn't have to whisper and could talk in a normal voice. Mary's Delight is an absolute must to try off of their dessert menu. Our waitress was pretty good. She forgot a water refill back to back times and we had to remind her but in all fairness they were really busy at the time. Everything was great and we will be back. Assuming the restaurant would be crowded, I did not question our placement. By end of dining it was clear that there would have been plenty of room to give my group of 6 a better placement. Three of the 6 of us had only a wall to look at; the other 3 had to peer around the obstructing wall. Everything -- service, menu, ambience, presentation -- was excellent. Our waiter Tim was exactly what a waiter should be and the only thing better than the descriptions on the menu was the actual food itself.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant for a wedding anniversaryFor ~25 yr., we've dined at The Hobbit & have always been delighted w/ our meal. This one was no exception. On making our reservation, I had requested a window table, noting that it was for our 46th wedding anniversary. As we arrived, the maître d' saw us approaching and came to open the front door for us--an indication of the wonderful service to come that evening. Our table looked out on the bay, affording us a front-row seat for a beautiful sunset. Our waitress, Camille, was genuinely friendly and helpful, very courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our meals were exceptional. After ordering dessert, we learned it was complementary. Our dining experience couldn't've been better! Was so happy to see they had roast turkey breast on the Holiday Menu. It was delicious. My husband said his crab cake was the best he has ever eaten. I would say the portion sizes were a bit small, but overall the food was really good. Our server could have been more upbeat and interested i n what he was doing. We had to ask for fresh ground pepper for our salads (saw it sitting RIGHT THERE, why didn't he ask us first?) Service was great. View of the water was wonderful, even though it was raining. Good food, lots of wine selections, nice music, low noise leve, comfortable seating.
