The Hobbit RestaurantFine DiningGreat dining experience. I definitely would return to try other dishes. Nice early bird selections and great wine list. The open floor plan with full window view of the bay was a nice touch to the ambiance! Only negative is they don't do individual checks for table of four (two couples). I understand this procedure when the restaurant is busy, but we were there at 5:00 and only one other couple was in the dining room.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMstunning view and classy comfortthe restaurant was fresh and tidy, clean quiet and comforting. luxurious seats and tables, elegant theme well tied together. good service. enjoyed the flavors that evening as well
we had the roasted duck, the veal, and the oyster app.oysters were tasty and inspired
duck had good flavor and color was slightly overcooked
veal was delicious. definately would return, especially nice for o.c.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the Best in OCGreat for a nice dinner, special occasion, or just a quiet dinner with friends and family. Views over the back bay are magnificent. Bring your sunglasses.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food and Beautiful ViewThis was our second visit to The Hobbit and we were very pleased both times. The wine list was not extensive but there were enough choices for our taste. The service was very attentive. My husband had the shrimp risotto and I had a very tasty pesto-crusted salmon with sun-dried tomatoes and couscous. We were particularly impresseed with the calimari - lightly fried and served with an excellent teriyaki aoili. The restaurant overlooks the bay and we had a perfect view of the sunset. We would definitely go back and I highly recommend The Hobbit.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding ExperienceMy girlfriend and I found this place with the help of some recommendations from locals. The lamb lollipops are awesome! When the GM/Owner explained they were out of the bottle of wine we wanted, he replaced it with a more expensive one of our choice at the same price of our original selection!! That is excellent service! The server was a little new but very attentive and did a great job. The main entrees were excellent. I could not recommend this restaurant enough!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSpent a wonderful Mother'sSpent a wonderful Mother's Day at the Hobbit with my parents, husband and 2 kids (11 & 13). I loved the Mother's Day menu, it had something for everyone without breaking the bank. I got an elegant dinner out, fantastic sunset and delicious food for a great price. We had a very enjoyable night.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice DinnerThe food was absolutely incredible! The view was stunning as we were there during the sunset right over the bay-side. Not a place to take kids but a better spot for adults and those looking for a romantic dinner. Although it isn't very quite but it was nice feeling like we didn't have to whisper and could talk in a normal voice. Mary's Delight is an absolute must to try off of their dessert menu. Our waitress was pretty good. She forgot a water refill back to back times and we had to remind her but in all fairness they were really busy at the time. Everything was great and we will be back. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money $30-$50 a person depending on what you drink.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Hobbit in Ocean CitySpectacular sunsets visble from every table. Great deal, great food during Restaurant Week. Excellent menu choices. A "Special Occasion" spot - don't bring the kids directly from the beach.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulFrom the time we walked through the doors to the time we left, it was nothing but wonderful.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMseatingThough my online request for a window seat was honored, we were seated at the end of the restaurant where there was a large obstructing partial wall. Assuming the restaurant would be crowded, I did not question our placement. By end of dining it was clear that there would have been plenty of room to give my group of 6 a better placement. Three of the 6 of us had only a wall to look at; the other 3 had to peer around the obstructing wall. In that the view is a major reason to visit The Hobbit, we were all disappointed in not having one.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurant in OCMDI love going the The Hobbit and have dinner while the sun sets over the bay.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways look forward to theAlways look forward to the spring re-opening of the Hobbit and weren't disappointed. Our favorite restaurant in O.C., staff is always
friendly and competent, food is always delicious and of course, the view never fails to please. Have been going to the Hobbit for years
and are always glad we did.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Hobbit has long been knownThe Hobbit has long been known as one of the best restaurants in Ocean City, and the reputation is well-deserved. Everything -- service, menu, ambience, presentation -- was excellent. Our waiter Tim was exactly what a waiter should be and the only thing better than the descriptions on the menu was the actual food itself.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant for a wedding anniversaryFor ~25 yr., we've dined at The Hobbit & have always been delighted w/ our meal. This one was no exception. On making our reservation, I had requested a window table, noting that it was for our 46th wedding anniversary. As we arrived, the maître d' saw us approaching and came to open the front door for us--an indication of the wonderful service to come that evening. Our table looked out on the bay, affording us a front-row seat for a beautiful sunset. Our waitress, Camille, was genuinely friendly and helpful, very courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our meals were exceptional. After ordering dessert, we learned it was complementary. Our dining experience couldn't've been better! What an elegant place for a special dinner!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was great. The food and service was great. The view was spectacular! One of the don't miss places if you are in the area.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at the Hobbit andFirst time at the Hobbit and it wont be the last. From the moment we entered into the room, everyone was as a friend to us. The food was outstanding. One of if not the best in OC MD.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster dinner. Was so happyEaster dinner. Was so happy to see they had roast turkey breast on the Holiday Menu. It was delicious. My husband said his crab cake was the best he has ever eaten. I would say the portion sizes were a bit small, but overall the food was really good. Our server could have been more upbeat and interested i n what he was doing. We had to ask for fresh ground pepper for our salads (saw it sitting RIGHT THERE, why didn't he ask us first?) A lot of families in that day, and of course, that meant annoying children who were obviously getting bored and LOUD and needed to go way before their selfish parents took them home.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Easter BrunchWe went for Easter Brunch .... not knowing anything about the place. Service was great. View of the water was wonderful, even though it was raining. Good food, lots of wine selections, nice music, low noise leve, comfortable seating. Definitely upscale environment for the beach/Ocean City. Would definitely go back.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
