  • "Only issue ran out of Savignon blanc by the glass. Spinach pansies I can do without. Loved all the seasonal vegetables."

  • "The food was excellent. We had a very friendly wait staff; the specialty drinks were very unique. We enjoyed the art exhibit which is a great reason to go there as well."

  • "Food excellent. One in party had to-die-for filet with truffle butter...trés expensive but exceptional. Another had grouper that was excellent and unique preparation and third had the chicken dish, which had very tender, juicy pieces combined with several veggies...not just a sautéed chicken breast with veggies plopped on top. Had appetizer of a house-made pasta with caramelized onion, mushrooms, almonds...had a little, repeat little, heat...meaning just the right amount...absolutely wonderful! Very good wine list for glasses and bottles in wide variety of choices and prices...something appealing to our party! Highly recommended."

  • "Having a meal at the Hive is a fun and unique experience. The clever way they combine herbs and spices gives you a meal you most likely have never had before. The wait staff is friendly and professional. It was a memorable dining experience."

  • "Pricey, yet delivers good value! Presentation artful as one would expect in a hotel/museum. While "local" sourcing is much appreciated, the role it played in flavor outcomes were questionable. Dinning ambiance enjoys seamless contemporary artfulness of the hotel. Funky, yet serious, and they deliver what they represent. Definitely recommend if planning a weekend museum visit to Bentonville."

  • "We enjoyed the creative cocktails and southern classics with a twist. The salads were wonderful, as was the blackberry cobbler! Bacon jam topping pimento cheese is a wonderful addition but the cheese itself is overworked and oily. One of the best aspects of dining here is wine by the quartino (9 oz), allowing two to share a moderate serving of different wines with different courses."

  • "Wonderful food and great atmosphere: ;coated 21c Museum Hotel. Look out for the penguins."

  • "My wife and I went there for our anniversary. The staff was great, but the food was a bit on the salty side. The dishes were something we weren't familiar with but the waitress was very helpful and answered any questions we had (we're simple people). The manager was also very polite. Overall our dinner was good, the art was interesting and we had a good time."

  • "The food was good, not great and we were maybe a little disappointed. The drinks made with their custom ingredients were great. The salad I had with beets in it was great. The mixed lettuce salad my husband had was mediocre. The Salmon we had was a bit cool when delivered; the taste was quite good, but not as good as expected. I don't understand the cotton candy; it was topping off what should be a gourmet dinner with a giant jolly rancher. Go figure! We had the angel food cake for dessert and that was very good. The service was good, except the valet who was no where to be found when we pulled up. We waited a few minutes & went to parking deck which has no entry to hotel, so it was a long walk to front door."

  • "Serious food in a fun sort of "21c" way. Delicious NW Arkansas twists on old favorites! The drink list has some choices that beg to be tasted as well. Innovation dominates and makes this a refreshingly good choice!"

  • "Good food, good service and great atmosphere. I was disappointed in the size of the red grouper I ordered but other than that we had a good time."

  • "While not the only game in town, if you're in Bentonville you will probably find yourself at The Hive at some point. Very well prepared food and an imaginative menu. The wait staff tries hard but there were numerous bumps along the way. Mostly timing issues so nothing interfered with very tasty dinners. The best cornbread I've ever had. But the music is awfully loud and out of place for the restaurant. Great bar."

  • "The fish and bean dish I had I could have made at home so there was nothing special about the dish--especially for the price. I don't find anything unique that would draw me back. Better restaurants downtown bentonville with better food and better prices "

  • "We had a great dining experience on our first visit ti the Hive. Tge food , preparation, and presentation were very very good to excellent. It was a slow night and we dined early, so it is hard to judge the service. Ours was excellent and our waiter, Jonathan, made the experience fun, entertaining and a wine learning experience. We will definitely return. Possibly brunch next time."

  • "Great service, cool ambience and giant green penguins. Artwork is fantastic in this museum hotel's restaurant. The pork chop was juicy, and the veggies super fresh. Nothing was too salty. Their signature after dinner mint is sour apple cotton candy. 'Nuff said. "

  • "We came here for an anniversary dinner and had a wonderful experience. Very good, entertaining cocktail specialty list. Good wine selection and outstanding appetizers. We had the braised rabbit which was unusual and stunningly good. Entrées were excellent and the green been sides were amazing. Overall a very pleasant experience."

  • "Found this the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Welcomed cordially with "congratulations" from staff. Service was attentive and friendly, but unhurried as we took time to unwind. The meal was exquisite, the chef giving a lot of thought to just the right ingredients to combination of ingredients to be innovative but not overwhelming diners with too flavors -- each dish maintained its integrity."

  • "Food is delicious and imaginative. Had veal marrow, pimento cheese, and 25 minute egg (a WONDERFUL salad) as appetizers; shrimp, halibut, and pork entrees. Delicious accompaniments, beautiful presentation. Their "by the glass" is a satisfying 9 oz pour - kudos for recognizing a "glass and a half" is just right with dinner! Final flourish -big pouf of green apple flavored cotton candy brought with the check in lieu of mints; whimsical and tasty-great fun! But the wait staff - ugh! Pretentious blah, blah, blah about the cuisine and its preparation. Never asked about our interests or tastes. The food speaks for itself, Portlandia! These servers need to be replaced with professionals who understand how to talk TO customers not AT them. "

  • "Had Mother's Day Brunch at The Hive. The food was excellent but the value of this $35 prix fixe meal was low. For the price, I would have expected more--at least a complementary mimosa for mom vs. the $9 glass on top of the $35 meal. Service was slow--despite lots of staff in an at best half full restaurant it was difficult to get anyone's attention."

  • "We had dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed the restaurant and look forward to going back. I believe The Hive needs to find its groove. Our choice of veal marrow bone as our first course was a mistake and our waiter should have directed us or returned it to the kitchen. The presentation was good but the marrow was sparse and what was there had dried to the bone, the jam was good. I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp with couscous which was very good. My husband wanted the quail and was guided to the hamburger??? It was very good (I ate it for lunch the next day) but not for dinner. We had a great conversation with the couple seated next to us and had a wonderful evening. We think the restaurant still has some kinks to work out."

  • "Music way to loud and peppy for this really nice restaurant where you would like to linger over the food and have great conversations. I saw other diners asking if the music could be altered or lowered. Small number of menu selections but very inventive; soup and salads were excellent as was bread (cornbread). Ribeye steak okay, but not the best."

  • "Not only are you in a museum, you are in a place where people enjoy their job, food presentation and quality is outstanding and it is a hot spot off the square. "

  • "The Hive is a very interesting bar/restaurant. The art work and furnishings are comfortable and ultra modern. The bartender and servers were very approachable and good at their jobs. Service was excellent. The green penguins added a touch of fun to the experience. Our food was good, the steak tender and cooked to our liking. The only area that needs attention was the sides. The cauliflower was swamped with cheese and butter as was the broccoli making them I edible."

  • "Like the fun, funky hotel in which it resides, The Hive steps outside the box of Midwestern dining with nary a fried entre or an over abundance of mashed potatoes. The food is much more akin to what you would find in larger metro areas with sous vide preparations and locavore attitude. This is not to say that everyone in your party won't be satisfied by their options, just that no one should walk away bored by the typical hotel dining scene. I'd highly recommend you pay a visit to this jewel in the ozarks."

  • "My review was too long for the limit, so I'll sum up: outstanding, sophisticated restaurant which could hold its own in cosmopolitan city. Don't miss it when in Bentonville."

  • "We expected eclectic menu offerings and were not dissapointed. We both had the sturgeon, creative cocktails and bone marrow appetizer (yum). Friday night noise level was high, all tables filled and SRO/packed in bar. Artwork will be disturbing for some."

  • "We loved our dinner at The Hive. A small menu and a nice wine list mixed with wonderful service and contemporary surroundings make for a perfect dinner."

  • "The hotel is so wonderful that we expected a lot of the restaurant. We ate there two nights in a row, relishing quail and sweet pea soup appetizers on both occasions. Then the entrees arrived. The first night's ribeye was almost inedible. The second night I had the pork chop. It was thick and juicy, but tasteless compared to those I can cook on my own charcoal grill. My wife skipped the entrees the first night, and got another appetizer. The second night she ordered "Spinach Panisse," but could not finish it. Bottom line: One should go to Bentonville at least once, for the Crystal Bridges Museum especially, and definitely stay at 21c (!), but you might want to wait a year until the Hive has time to find its way."

  • "My spouse & I visited the Bentonville area this week. Made our dinner res online thru OpenTable. Intended leisurely drink in the bar while waiting for our res time was made impossible by an over-full bar. The Hive's staff accommodated us by seating us early, then let us set a liesurely pace for dinner. Good food, tho chef seems awfully taken with molasses - seems like everything we ate tasted like it had molasses in it. I like molasses. It was a little over-done on the menu. The service was outstanding, from the person who seated us to the several wait-staff that poured wine & water & served our food. Cotton candy presented with the bill was just the right whimsical touch to go with the whimsy displayed in the art throughout the hotel."
