Welcome to New England's first and only Scottish Restaurant. Food made from scratch and with love. With over 25 Scottish beers this is a beer lovers heaven. For others we have signature cocktails like the Braveheart and Bobbie Burns. Expect a warm welcome from Kilt clad staff.

This is a favorite place to grab
dinner and a drink with friends. Always a wonderful, friendly staff and excellent food. There is not a bad selection on the menu and the beer list is great. The place is usually busy, so make sure to get a reservation or go at an off dinner time. It would be nice if the place was a little bigger, though the cozy ambiance is nice. Can't wait to go back soon!"

My wife and I totally enjoyed the

Great local place to go for a

Arrived from Montreal after a long
drive. I was looking forward to trying this highly praised local eatery. I reserved a few weeks in advance for myself and 2 friends. The ambiance was energetic and the drinks outstanding. Just what was needed after the drive! All 3 of us ordered something different so we could sample each other's dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection. I can not offer a suggestion as it was all terrific. The staff was awesome and added to the great vibe. I will definitely return. If you are looking for a hopping bar with great eats... look no further! Cheers!"

The House Smoked Seafood Platter
with the beet smoked salmon, marinated mussels and smoked haddock spread was one of the best lunches I had in a long time! A colleague had a burger and another had a sausage sandwich which looked awesome. Service was terrific and attentive. My only criticism is that it was very cold in the restaurant. Looking forward to a return visit."

We have been before and like this
place. However on this visit, it seems that the place needs to up their game. Our waitress seemed distracted - even though it wasn't very crowded. We usually go with either the burger or the fish dinner. One friend opted for the burger and requested it medium. It arrived very rare. Another friend went with the fish dinner which at one time came with a nice pile of fries. It arrived with fish on a small palette of fries. I decided to try the lamb vindaloo. It wasn't bad - but nothing to recommend it. We would really like to see this place succeed but in a town with so many restaurant options, it is tough to recommend this based on our last visit."

I love the burger here, and
routinely send friends to The Haven to try it. It's all kinds of wonderful. The chips/fries are thick cut and the ketchup is made in house. Sometimes I'll have one of their ridiculously awesome mashed potato sides rather than fries. There is no wrong move here. I constantly try to find reasons to show up late, as the late night menu also has a fish sandwich on it, with the same amazing fried fish from the dinner menu's fish and chips, as well as the absolutely amazing Finnan Haddie croquettes. Any dish made with their house sausages is great, too. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable, the bartenders are fast and witty, the beer selection is impressive. Go to The Haven."

The hamburgers are huge and
delicious as are the fries. The vindaloo was quite spicy, but tasty. There is a great beer list with lots of British and Scottish beers. We had an attentive waitress and all in all a lovely evening."

We enjoyed the casual, friendly
atmosphere. Our server was upbeat, attentive and helpful with menu choices. We went on a Saturday evening, and as such, the restaurant was busy. I had the grilled salmon, my partner ordered the steak pie. We ate it all, not a morsel left on the plates. Definately want to return and try the weekend brunch."

A really fun spot with great
ambience and authentic Scottish food. Crowds rolled in and service gets a bit compromised but have another beer and you won't mind. You'll love the waiter wearing his traditional Scottish kilt."

Had dinner with three friends with
an 8pm reservation. We arrived at 8:05pm to a table waiting for us. There place was full, which gave the room a nice feel. Our meal and drinks were timed such that everything went very smooth. All four of us were happy with our meals and with the excellent service. Our waitress Morgan helped to make our outing a good evening, all the way around."

Nearly everything about the Haven
is excellent--friendly staff, delicious beverages, happy vibe. Though I was grateful for the choice of many vegan sides, our vegetable plate (kale, peas, zucchini), completely lacked flavor. I guess that's part of the Scottish thing? I'll probably be back for the drinks."

i had been to the haven for dinner
about 1 yr ago with 2 friends. i had scotch egg (fab), 1 friend had the best homemade sausage i have ever had and potatoes w/green onions (?). fab. etc. we went to sat. brunch on 2/8. we both had the haven sandwich. sausage was horrible, potato cake was not so great. egg was good. waitress didnt really know menu that well, music was not scottish (in the background). i told the waitress i didnt like the food and she didnt even offer to get me something else.."

The Haven is nicely set up for
groups. As a couple, however, we were placed at a high shelf with stools overlooking the street. The restaurant was busy and the service was friendly, but inattentive. Food was very good, but not close to the "mind blowing" that some other reviews have implied. I give 4 stars for food based on the entrees. The pear-ginger cobbler was such a train wreck we almost sent it back. It was incredibly dry. I detected no ginger and the dish was in dire need of added sugar. (This coming from someone who thinks most desserts are over-sweetened.) Overall the Haven was well worth a visit, and I will probably return at some point to try some of their other dishes. I'm just not as enthusiastic as I was hoping to be."

The food was essentially Scottish

I really like the ambiance and the
originality of this restaurant. I would like to make this my new brunch spot, but the service needs to be improved. The servers were friendly and courteous, but I had to ask multiple times for water and coffee refills. We waited more than 20 minutes to order and then waited about 45 minutes for food. The food was definitely freshly made!"

Great fun and wonderful food. The
salmon was the best around and all the casseroles were flavorful. The tables are close together in a small space which adds to the friendly atmosphere but it can be difficult to hear. A very welcoming pub, of course, it does help if you are wearing a kilt! We can't wait to go back!"

Four adults, two generations,
totally happy with a super meal. Cocktails reasonably priced and deeeee-lish. Carrot something sale was super.. had another appetizer (birdies??) that were also de-lush. Vegetairan entree good. Someone had salmon and loved it. I can't remember the other entrees but they were also enthusiastically received. Owner is really welcoming, service was good. Also had desert (the ice cream with flake 99 (yum!) and toffee something that was sweet and yum. I'm not fully capturing how pleasant and satisfying the whole experience was but it was great. Really lovely evening and good dinner."

This was our 2nd or 3rd time at
the Haven. The menu is unusual for Boston; can't think of another Scottish restaurant. Fresh ingredients, unusual flavor combinations. I especially loved the minty, mushy peas that came with my light crisp fish and chips. Great beer and Scotch list as you might imagine. Funky hunting lodge decor is fun. The vibe is lively!"

This was our first time in and I
had heard good things so maybe we need to give it another shot. We were seated right away and a cozy table in a very cute dining room. We got our drinks right away and the variety was very good with a lot of Scottish beer to choose from. The Maggie May gin based drink was awesome. Our app arrived about 5 minutes after we started eating our entrees so that was unfortunate. I got the stuffed peppers with rice and veggies. It was overpowering with curry which was not a spice mentioned on the menu. My husband got the cockles and blood sausage stew. The cockles were cooked well but the sausage was very dry. Our server never checked to see how our meals were. If I got back it will be for drinks at the bar only."

The place was bustling and I was
glad we had made an OpenTable reservation. We were seated in a great spot. Our server, Diana, was superb. We asked for her input on some choices and we were not steered wrong. The food was amazing. My daughter had the scottish deviled eggs for an app. I had the vegetarian special. My daughter's meal was delicious. We were delighted by gluten free options. We eat out alot but were struck by how well taken care of we felt, remarkably so. Our meal was capped by a fried Mars bar, scrump-tious! I can see why the line was so long to get in and why people linger over their meals at this haven. An added treat was the bagpipe/guitarist. We will be back, probably for Sunday brunch, as we hear it is quite good."
