  • Public Transit: The closest Subway Stop is Spadina Station, but the Streetcar does stop at the intersection of Spadina and Harbord. The Wellesley bus does run east from Wellesley Subway Station as well.

  • Parking Details: City Metered Parking is available on both the North and South sides of Harbord as well as on Spadina Avenue.
A word from The Harbord Room
The Harbord Room is a restaurant and bar where we focus on using local and seasonal ingredients as much as possible as well as putting forth cocktails keeping true to origins and respective histories.
We are a small restaurant and limited to 20 seats in the winter months and 40 in the summer, but attention to detail and personalized service remain the heart of our concept.
We offer the same dinner menu at the bar, which is conducted on a 'walk-in' basis.
Calling just before joining us at the Bar is recommended as we will be able to let you know the availability at that point. We hope that you will join us for dinner soon.

I'm still thinking about them a week later. I thought our server was one of the best I ever had. Loved her casual but very informed manner. The only negative is the very limited wine by the glass list. There definitely could be huge improvements there with the non-notable wine list."

The food and service are still excellent but the loud music did not allow us to talk at all. The patio seats were quiet but that area was full. The interior was very noisey. People at tables next to ours looked uncomfortable too. We may go elsewhere next time. Too bad."

  • "4 of us met here for an early dinner. None of us had been here before. The cocktails were fantastic, the Rhubarb Gin Fizz and the Ronald Clayton were especially lovely. We had a bunch of sharing starters, the guacamole with sweet peas and chips, the daily special of soft shell crab, and the fried green tomato salad. For mains we had the ricotta and summer squash gnocchi, the bavette of beef, and the roasted porcini mushroom stuffed chicken leg with gnudi. Dessert was the fresh ricotta doughnuts and pistachio olive oil cake with fresh strawberry sorbet. Everyone was impressed with the presentation, the quality and taste of the food, and the service. Definitely coming back again!"

  • "I had heard so many great things about The Harbord Room and was very excited to attend with my girlfriend for her birthday. It needed to be special and it ended up meeting all of our expectations. The place has a nice homey feel to it and the service staff were very friendly. The food was definitely the highlight. We had their famous burger...which I can confirm is absolutely out of this world! We also had the beef and pumpkin gnocchi which was outstanding. The only slight disappointment was with the cocktails. All of the photos we had seen prior to going there made us believe that their cocktails were served in jars however they came in very small cocktail glasses instead. They were incredibly tasty just not as big as we had thought."

  • "This restaurant is gorgeous to look at, with warm wood, and lovely lighting. The reception at the door was outstanding; very welcoming. The service was first rate. Our food was pretty good; not amazing (I had the halibut fish special that was a bit bland; my partner had the burger which she didn't love; it was a bit well done). We had a great romantic evening, still, marred only slightly by something the Room has no control over; an obnoxious dude with too many cocktails on board who was quite loud and annoying. "

  • "We had to take a late reservation - 10pm. The place was still completely full, incl the spaces at the bar. Our server was fantastic & he knew the menu items thoroughly, made very appropriate wine recommendations. We started with the Raw Fish Platter which was fresh and flavourful, lovely start to the meal. My partner had the house made squid ink linguine, the prawns were tender and the flavourings were balanced beautifully with this colourful dish. I enjoyed the famous house burger, which is a VERY generous serving, we should have shared it!"

  • "What a great place. After being named as having Toronto's best Burger, I had to check it out. The room itself is beautiful. A little cramped yet very charming and romantic. I ordered the soup and the burger side a side of the beets and brussel sprouts. The burger was of course the standout. It was rich, buttery and very flavorful. I highly recommend ordering it without the cheese in order to truly experience and taste the meat. On top of the amazing food, Bruce from Dragon's den happened to be sitting next to me and that was very cool as well. Cant wait to go back!"

Service was really great, everyone was very friendly and very attentive. When I first arrived, the host was on the phone and immediately asked the person on the call to hold the line so she could attend to me. Having kept waiting while a host finished a call at other establishments I noticed that and appreciated that. We never had to ask for anything, the staff were on top of it all. Highly recommend it, definitely can't wait to go back!"

  • "I came to this restaurant on a Saturday night, 1st seating. The music was very loud at first but I realized this was for the staff as they were preparing; they turned it down once the tables got filled, thank goodness. The atmosphere was unpretentious and casual, yet the wine and food were really top notch. We shared an appetizer of olives, cheese and a homemade crispy bread - delicious with just the right amount of salt. The trout dish was phenomenal. I tasted my husband's flank steak and it was very tasty but if they could substitute filet mignon for the flank steak it would be even better (albeit more expensive). I also feel like this dish could do without the egg. This was my 2nd time at this restaurant and I was pleased again!"

  • "The Harbord Room was a warm, cozy little space, that was intimate, but pretty lively at the same time. The food was great, and the service was very friendly and personal. One of the best quality burgers I've ever had, and it wasn't just because of an overkill of crazy toppings. The actual meat was amazingly fresh and rich without being gamey at all. We will definitely go back and would recommend it to anyone for a date or small group."
