The Hamilton InnAlways satisfying!A wonderful, tucked away neighborhood gem, the Hamilton Inn is a sophisticated spot with a vibrant bar scene, pleasant sidewalk cafe and cozy interior dining area. Menu selections should please just about anyone and the service is friendly and personable. Hamilton Inn is a place you will find yourself going back to many times.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMoh those pierogies...There are some simply outstanding dishes at HI. The goat cheese pierogies with caramelized onions and truffled sour cream are at the top of the list along with the French onion soup dumplings (although the dumplings are better at Stanton Social in NYC, from whence they originated, I believe). The ribs are fantastic, truffle fries are delicious, burgers are cooked perfectly, fish tacos are tasty...haven't had something there I didn't like. Great cocktails as well. I happened to go on a Wednesday which is 1/2 price cocktail night. A large sidewalk seating area for those who are excited to dine al fresco in the nicer weather. This is a favorite and I live 1/2 hour away.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a great place toThis was a great place to celebrate my friend's birthday - we both had steak dishes and they were both great. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, Funky VenueCool little corner restaurant. The reclaimed and repurposed distressed materials made for a comfortable dining experience. Took the family to brunch/breakfast on a Saturday and the menu had a good choice of standard and funky fare. We had the French toast, Heuvos Rancheros and Huevos Divorciados which were all tasty and well prepared. The oyster appetizer, though fresh, was expensive at $2.75 per oyster. My only complaint was with the service. Our waiter was polite and mostly attentive but he was not familiar with the food or wine menu which required him to go back-and-forth to the back to check with others on details and at one time indicated that an appetizer was not available when it was.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLiving on the park...Living in the Hamilton Park area of Jersey City for 6 months, we've greatly enjoyed all of our meals at Hamilton Inn.
Especially recommend the ahi tuna and hanger steak with those fabulous fries. Drinks are wonderful as well.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMShared a lovely dinner withShared a lovely dinner with friends for our birthdays. We had the steak frites and truffle ravioli's . Both very good.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you're in the area, a great findJust worked for me on several different levels. Large staff for size which ensured great service... staff knowledgeable, well trained and NICE!
Nice selection for a pub menu and well executed. Great neighborhood place with eclectic group of patrons... though I'm not from the neighborhood and am coming back!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll go back!Great little place, cozy, intimate.Nice vibe for sure. No "airs" about it, down to earth and friendly. Very good for a date. The food was delicious, but the portions were tiny and left us hungry! We paid $35 for a fixed menu meal; we both had the hangar steak and fries, salad appetizer(for me),crab cake appetizer(for husband),and both chose the flourless cake for dessert. Hangar steak was great. Cooked just how we wanted. Fries were average and very small amount. Crab cake appetizer was the size of a half-dollar and was basically one bite.Appetizer salad was quite small but really good.I love flourless chocolate cake. Unfortunately for me, this cake came out HOT!I like my flourless cake cold and dense.I took it home and put it in fridge.YUM!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
