Always great waiters.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day at the HamiltonMy family and I dined at the Hamilton for Mother's Day. It was our first visit to the restaurant and based upon our enjoyment of the food will definitely be making a return visit in the near future. The decor of the restaurant is opulent but tasteful. The restaurant was very busy due to it being Mother's Day so the waiter was stretched a little thin. That being said he apologized for not being as attentive as he should have been but I had no complaints. If you're looking for good food and a very nice atmosphere to enjoy your meal, be sure to pay a visit to the Hamilton.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWent in for a graduation celebratioWent in for a graduation celebration and the food was delicious. It was really good! I needed a reservation for 6 for brunch on relatively short notice, and I chose the Hamilton because it is massive and i knew they would be able to fit us in-- and they did-- with no problem..
I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry pancakes-- delish! My husband had the soft shell crab benedict--- that was good as well! Definitely recommend.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter Theater DinnerGood food, great service. Menu and wine list has lots of choices.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMeverything was very goodGood menu, good food, good service, and a nice club downstairs with national acts5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good OverallI booked a reservation for a work group of 6 pretty last minute. They ended up seating us early (we arrived early and figured we'd just wait at the bar), and gave us a great table off on it's own little private area with a nice large window view. The server was great, checking on us all frequently, and the food was great too. Everyone was positive to the plates they ordered, and were all very happy with the restaurant selection overall.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Wonderful. Our food was great, service even better. Wayne, our server, had such character, provided excellent service, spot on recommendations and really made it a wonderful dining experience. I'd go back. I took some neighbors visiting from California, and they went back the next day.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Business Lunch Place!Great place for a business lunch. Ambience was perfect with sufficient space between tables for private conversations. Very well thought of menu with options for all. Top notch service coupled with delicious food allows me to wholeheartedly recommend this place.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! The wait staff was as friendly and curteous as any restaurant we've eaten in. Our server was knowledgeable and vey attentive. The service manager even came by and welcomed us and checked to see how we were doing. The food was utterly fantastic. I had the special which was a flame-seared ribeye with house cream potatoes and grilled asparagus. Everything was fantastic. My wife and I will definitely eat at The Hamilton again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHOT appetizer! Mmmm good!DC Wings was exceptional! Not sure what I was expecting when I saw this on the menu. Wings with mambo sauce is a DC carryout staple so when I ordered it I was wondering how The Hamilton was going to put the twist on this one. To my (great) surprise, this appetizer which could have been a entre was to die for. It took me right back to my teenage years of scrapping up change to go to the corner carryout for 4 wings with mambo sauce and french fries! This was excellent.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMHave visited 3 times, thanksgivingHave visited 3 times, thanksgiving dinner was fabulous, they have a gospel brunch which is great for groups and just lunch is very good also. I don't think anyone would be disappointed.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGospel Brunch is GREAT!We decided to check out the Hamilton's Gospel Brunch last Sunday as a last minute way to meet up with an old friend. It was terrific! The food was bountiful and quite good. It's not the BEST food I've had but that's not the point of this brunch (it was still very good) - the focus was on the entertainment. Amazing blues/gospel/jazz music.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI was out late having drinksI was out late having drinks decided to order some food and i must say it was great I ordered the District wings and Mac and cheese. It really give you the taste of DC. This my first visit here and ordering food but it will not be my last. I have been here twice -once for the Hamilton live and once for dinner and drinks as a small group for a birthday. Each time was fantastic and did not disappoint. The food is delicious and the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and provided us with menu favorites and recommendations. The bars are lively. The hamilton live seated venue is very nice. Thery have many tables and servers to check on you throught the show. sound was great. This is a very large place and seems to be getting more and more popular. It is entergetic and has a fun atmosphere for a variety of different age groups.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAN EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE.AN EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE. Great selections of wine and beer. Very energetic place, went to an event after dinner at the New York times building, stopped back in after for some drinks, The place was packed and yet our waitress was exceptional !!!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and atmosphereThe Hamilton was a great choice for a 4-person business lunch. We arrived at 11:30 and shortly after the restaurant was hopping. Our server was good and we were a semi-high-maintenance table. One of our party loves sweet tea and the server was able to provide simple syrup for that. We had a special request for different ice cream on dessert that is listed in the menu, and he accommodated that smoothly as well. I always have the lobster roll, which was excellent as usual. Everyone ordered something different and all were pleased.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was sooo good. This place was sooo good. Our waiter made excellent reservations. When I go out with my husband, we usually order two different entrees and nibble off each other's plates. Our waiter made the extra effort to have the food split up for us before he brought it to the table. We thought that was a nice touch. Save room for dessert because they are amazing!! We were really surprised that the meals were a great value for the level of service and quality of food. This is our new favorite date-night place.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food and service!Wonderful food and service! And loved the coffee press service, first class presentation.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the crab cakes. TheLove the crab cakes. The waitress was excellent! Prefer the larger room.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat engagement!I proposed to my girlfriend here on our anniversary. I went to the restaurant the day before and informed the staff of my plans. The whole staff (particularly the manager, Brian Dominick) was more than helpful in making this special moment very memorable. Especially all the congratulatory compliments we got afterwards.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI have now had the opportunityI have now had the opportunity to eat at the Hamilton several times and have found each time that the food is always consistently great. No problem being seated a few minutes before our reservation. Not overcrowded even on a nice Sunday during cherry blossom festival.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI LOVE The Hamilton. It isI LOVE The Hamilton. It is by far my favorite brunch place in DC. Every dish is amazing and it is such a treat to go here. The service is also very accomodating. I asked my waiter ahead of time (before my guest arrived) if he could split the bill a certain way, and even when the manager changed waiters on us, the bill was still split perfectly.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI recommend the Lobster SushiI recommend the Lobster Sushi Roll and the Spicy Grilled Chicken Salad it scrumptious.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent menu and serviceAlthough this is a Clyde's group restaurant, you would never know it from the decor and menu. A very eclectic menu with a global flair covering our choices for middle eastern kofte, mexican fish tacos, paradilla with eggs on top, sushi and others. Almost none of the Clyde's standards made the list. Service was quick and efficient, and somewhat formal with our waiter, but we like that. You can get in and out quickly at lunch even at noon. The space is huge with a lot of tables. We liked it very much and will return. In fact, my wife saw that one of her favorite musicians is coming to their concert space and we bought tickets the ipad ticket kiosk on the way out.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Hamilton was just whatThe Hamilton was just what I was looking for -- a traditional DC restaurant with with delicious crab cakes, great service and a clubby atmosphere. The Virginia cheese plate was delicious and generous as an appetizer. The wait staff was well-informed and welcoming. It was a really enjoyable place to dine.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways pleasedAlways pleased when we dine here. We attempt other places and refer back. Always pleased!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBig place but with many differentBig place but with many different rooms so isn't overwhelming4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was packed to the hilt,It was packed to the hilt, but the hostess was able to seat our party of 5 early (which was great) and then our server was attentive and wonderful. Drinks from the bar were slow in coming, but it's a large restaurant & it was full so that is perhaps to be expected. Our food was delicious and our "brunchies" were perfect sharing appetizers.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is very good, especiallyFood is very good, especially considering the reasonable pricing. Atmosphere is very nice, location is great... good dining experience. Wife was a little disappointed that the duck was not on the menu - she raved about the duck. We found out it is a seasonal item. Thanks.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMHad 8:30 reservations on aHad 8:30 reservations on a Saturday night never got seated until 9:45. But the bar was great and the dinner I derail. Definately worth the wait!! I recommend their Sunday brunch, lunch time dining and late night. It is definitly a "hot spot."4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat business lunchI booked the Hamilton for a business lunch for 6 and requested a round table if they had one. They did! They put us at a round table in a sectioned off little room so we were able to have a very interactive business lunch without shouting at one another. Love the lobster roll and the spring soup. Everyone else seemed happy with their choices. We had a vegetarian and they customized a pasta dish for him. I will be a pretty regular Hamilton customer going forward.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHaving been to a concert downstairsHaving been to a concert downstairs at Hamilton Live, I couldn't wait to try out the restaurant. I've never been in such an enormous eating establishment. It used to be a Borders Books & Music. It did not disappoint. We had a great window booth that had doors for privacy. Our server was excellent and explained lots of menu items when we asked. My friend and I split the shaved brussel sprout salad which, has a great dressing and pine nuts. I had the lobster roll and she had the sushi bento box. We split the apple crisp dessert. The food was excellent. I have tickets to go to the Gospel Brunch this weekend at Hamilton Live and I look forward to coming back to the restaurant to try their dinner menu! Being near Metro Center is convenient.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the pleasure of havingI had the pleasure of having dinner here last Wednesday night. The food is very tasty! The price range is not bad considering the service and type of ambiance you're getting. It was affordable (considering i'm no big shot senator or the such...lol) but elegant. The lunch portions are a bit smaller so you may have to order a side to accompany the dish. My friend and I ended up only paying $40 (includes tax and tip). So you see that's not bad for a nice restaurant. The first section they sat us in was by a bar on the first level and was a bit noisy, so I asked to be moved somewhere less noisy. The hostess agreed and moved us in area more elegant and with less noise. Loved it4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDC eatery mustDC eatery must! Great food expereince. Nice space and location. Meatballs and calamari were deliciious as apps. Crab cakes were 5 stars. Make sure you get the creme brulee for dessert.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a wonderful dining experienceI had a wonderful dining experience! I highly recommend it.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAs a native Washingtonian,As a native Washingtonian, I am thrilled to see a historical landmark recreated in my hometown. My sister was excited to see the transformation from a department store and for my youngest nephew experience dining in a famous landmark! The food was terrific, the wait staff were extremely cordial and helpful-I could not ask for better service! However, the two gentlemen when you first walk in the door (not the tall gentleman with the bright smile) the other guys did not part their lips. The greeting was almost cold and did not fit in with the rest of the staff. They are very handsome and need to show those white pearly teeth each time someone enters the venue. Finally, one of these days I will order cake that is not dry, stale and tasteless.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to The Hamilton forWe went to The Hamilton for Easter brunch when visiting the DC area. Food was great and the service was excellent. The French toast was especially good. We went with our kids and they do not have a kids menu. They happily split an entree for them and we ordered some side dishes. Overall it was nice and I would return.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
