The Grove - KailuaSunday BrunchWe went for Mothers Day in which they had made a Mothers Day Brunch. I wish they had a Sunday Brunch regularly. It was very good.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Grove is GreatMy family went to the Grove for Mothers Day because we have always had a great experience when having dinner. The restaurant was very busy as was to be expected and they were very accommodating all the way through we were seated a little latter than our reservation time which was understandable. The server did a good job of taking care of us. The food was great and liked the option of Al a Carte and buffet. We will always come back to the Grove it is a great restaurant with tasty food.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceServers were very attentive and had a great attitude, food was perfect and just the proper sized portions. Will be back in the future.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent andThe food was excellent and the service was exceptional. We were seated close to the bar and the exuberance of the guests there was uncomfortable. We could not have a conversation. There was a section that was not open which might have been quieter. This was out last night and we were glad that we found this restaurant before our trip ended.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy our dinners atAlways enjoy our dinners at The Grove - excellent food, service & ambiance! Great wine selections too!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent. TheThe food was excellent. The back of the house was just phenomenal. The drinks ordered were great. The li-hing mojito was delicious and refreshing. Appetizers: edamame, belly pork and the warm brussel sprout salad was just great. Fish prepared perfectly.
The front of the house definitely needs help. He was friendly and courteous enough, but,
he mixed up the orders twice. Also, everyone was not done eating and they started clearing the table. Very inappropriate.F4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great meal at TheWe had a great meal at The Grove, and the service was excellent. I had the warm brussel sprout salad (wonderful!), and the clam linguine with roasted garlic (delicious, reminded me of Venice). If we lived in Kailua, we would be going again and again.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA good dining experience withA good dining experience with a special person by your side4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband is an executiveMy husband is an executive chef and he approved of this place. and we have eaten at alot of places in Kauilua with very few we would go back to. He loved his dish of clams and linguine. We will come back.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food-wonderful personal touchGreat food, great layout -- I love sitting outside at that place. Get the Mai Tai and see if you can figure out the secret ingredient.
But the real bonus was the gave me a small plate with puree'd pumpkin and Okinawa [purple] sweet potato for my 7-month old. And he *loved* both of them (he'd never had pumpkin before). It was a small thing but a wonderful thing for me and my wife.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu, a bit differentGreat menu, a bit different than the usual, lot of local produce. Also had great lobster risotto! Try the brussle sprout salad, sounds odd but wonderful!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Kailua restaurantGreat food, great service and plenty of parking
Also what a great value for early bird menu3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood dinner in KailuaI had the fish which was excellent. They offer a variety of salads, all good.
A little pricey. Noisy.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMService was excellent...myService was excellent...my water glass was always full and we didn't have to wait for anything!
Waiter recommended scallop appetizer that was excellent and very reasonably priced.
Had scallop risotto that was Ono. Will absolutely visit again!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of our favoriteThis is one of our favorite Oahu restaurants. The food is excellent, innovative and always delicious. We appreciate the basic menu and always interesting new specials. For dessert we had their lychee basil sorbet with creme brûlée! An appetizer special we loved was lumpia made with rice paper wrapping around pork with two different dipping sauces served on fresh greens. My husband's favorite dish is the beef short ribs. I love the poki appetizer, large enough for an entree along with a large size salad. The service was excellent. We will return here often.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Grove is a nice place...quaint.The Grove is a nice place...quaint...and the service is excellent. They accommodated our baby by giving us a table big enough for his high chair...and provided a kiddy cup with water. We never had to ask for water refills...and our waitress was helpful, attentive, and informative. Very happy with the service. The food and ambience were not on par with the service, however. We were seated indoors and it was very hot. No open windows for ventilation and the air conditioner did not seem to be on.
The food was good, but not great. The fries were a bit undercooked, though the clams were very good. We ordered the braised ribs, which were tender and cooked well...but the lobster risotto was far too salty. Too bad...3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and fast with lotsDelicious and fast with lots of openings on OpenTable! Decent cheese/charcuterie plate to start, Yummy grilled mushroom salad, Amazing clam appetizer, Poke was good, Mexican albondinga soup (du jour) also tasty. Appetizer portions are good as mains if you're not starving! Love this place, wish I had one closer to home!1/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
