Best aspect: it has a great kids menu. Yes, kids too deserve variety and helthier, better tasting choices when they eat out. As for the grown up choices,appetizers: awesome grilled fries with choice of aioli sauces, rosemary and parmesan cheese (notice: not Parmigiano Reggiano). Fried peppers good but kind of dry. Small portion compared to other restaurants. Main courses: Mon chong fish good but dry. We did not feel like complaining. Grilled mushroom salad was outstanding. Beef soup tasted good but nothing special. Kind of too greasy, It tasted as if the beef had been cooked separately and then cut up and added to broth and veggies previously sauteed in butter. The mixed drinks and pupu menu from 3-6pm was a great way to wait for the whole group to arrive. Reservations super easy and a table all set up. The waitress was on top of everything and everyone had a fabulous meal. Apps, entrees all easy enough to share and nothing wasted. We requested a seat inside since we thought it would be humid at the patio but we should have sat outside. The airflow inside is minimal and even with the side door open and a/c on, it was still very warm in the evening. The noise compounds inside so our conversations must have traveled to everyone else around us.
Tip #1: If you are planning to have a romantic dinner, ask to be seated away from large groups or sit outside or you'll be sorry
Tip #2: Ask to be seated near the path of the side door if you choose to dine inside so that you get ventilation. Or sit outside

The restaurant was very busy as was to be expected and they were very accommodating all the way through we were seated a little latter than our reservation time which was understandable. The server did a good job of taking care of us. The food was great and liked the option of Al a Carte and buffet. The waitstaff cleared plates piecemeal, i.e., before everyone at the table had finished eating, a practice I think is very rude and which makes me feel as though they want the party to hurry up and be done - not conducive to a relaxing meal. Also, the waiter just interrupted conversation when he came to the table, which was fairly frequent. This made him seem pushy and that our meal was more about his needs than ours, although he was a friendly guy. Appetizers: edamame, belly pork and the warm brussel sprout salad was just great. Fish prepared perfectly.
The front of the house definitely needs help. He was friendly and courteous enough, but,
he mixed up the orders twice. Also, everyone was not done eating and they started clearing the table. The food is excellent, innovative and always delicious. We appreciate the basic menu and always interesting new specials. For dessert we had their lychee basil sorbet with creme brûlée! An appetizer special we loved was lumpia made with rice paper wrapping around pork with two different dipping sauces served on fresh greens. My husband's favorite dish is the beef short ribs. I love the poki appetizer, large enough for an entree along with a large size salad. The service was excellent. They accommodated our baby by giving us a table big enough for his high chair...and provided a kiddy cup with water. We never had to ask for water refills...and our waitress was helpful, attentive, and informative. Very happy with the service. The food and ambience were not on par with the service, however. We were seated indoors and it was very hot. No open windows for ventilation and the air conditioner did not seem to be on.
The food was good, but not great. The fries were a bit undercooked, though the clams were very good. We ordered the braised ribs, which were tender and cooked well...but the lobster risotto was far too salty.
