"We went to Charlies for Easter Brunch. The food was good, but the brunch table was pretty picked over and dishes were not refilled quickly. The dessert table was lackluster in presentation and variety, but the two we sampled were good."

"We went for Easter brunch. It was terrible all around. We were seated at our table and waited for a waitress that never came. Finally we just went and helped ourselves to the buffet...never saw a waitress to offer us drinks or tell us about the buffet. The buffet was picked over and poor. We did finally see a waitress when she found us to bring the bill. $81 for 3 of us to have an awful Easter day. I will never be back........"

"excellent Easter brunch, but was very expensive. Even though it was very good the price was too high. Higher than I've even paid for a nice dinner. also the high price did not even include juice or coffee--those were charged separately."

"Made an OpenTable reservation for early afternoon on Saturday, St. Patrick's day. It was a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride to Stillwater. I selected this restaurant partially because the website said private parking was available immediately north. Stillwater can be very crowded on a nice weekend and it was reassuring that I'd find a place to park. As we pulled in and shut down the bike a woman approached us and asked if we were staying in the hotel. I said no, we were eating at the restaurant. She proceeded to tell me we couldn't park there and pointed at public parking to the east, which was full. Fortunately, we found a spot to park a block or two away and were able to eat lunch. Food was good and service was OK."

"We had dinner included with a Living Social deal, so wanted to take advantage of that. We chose the inside dining room instead of the patio because it was cool and windy outside. the dining room was not crowded and the hostess made sure to seat everyone so they could have quiet conversation. Our server was friendly and efficient.

The menu is fairly limited. The blue cheese stuffed mushrooms appetizer was about Applebees quality. Ok, but not great. My husband, the carnivore, left about half his steak saying it was to gristly to finish. The mushrooms in the pasta dish were tasty, the pasta undercooked. Overall, just an ok experience. When presented our bill for tipping purposes, it estimated our dinner at $75--more than online menu!"

"Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable -- willing to tweak the menu quite a bit to customise our meal. I appreciated our waiter not trying to upsell us at every turn like I've experienced at other places.
While Charlie's is known more for steak, we had seafood, which was well prepared and surprisingly fresh.
Decent wine list with fair prices. We wanted to try something new and the waiter offered a a very nice bottle based our descriptions & a quick tasting.
They had five deserts to choose from. I had the dark chocolate torte with raspberry sauce, which was excellent.
I marked 'noise' as energetic because of a loud group in the bar area.
Overall, a very nice evening. The price was comparable to similar places in the Twin Cities"
