  • "We had the Best steak in years! Good was amazing and fantastic service and ambience! Loved it!"

  • "Not only was the service outstanding, complete with extensive wine knowledge and suggestions, but the steak we ordered with a side of wild British Columbian mushrooms was quite possibly the best steak dinner I've ever had. I was there with my new husband, on our honeymoon, celebrating the recent wedding and such, and our waitress surprised us with a beautiful dessert platter. It was artfully displayed and complete with a chocolate "Congratulations" on the plate. It was a wonderful dining experience and the food was cooked to perfection."

  • "Our server indicated that everything on the menu was great and he did not lie. I had an 8oz tenderloin bare naked and it was the best steak I've had in a long long time, it really didn't need any sauce or sides! Lobster Mac and cheese was delicious and all the side offerings were delicious. Would highly recommend just for the food!"

  • "Went for dinner on our honeymoon. Food was delicious and service was awesome. They treated us special by giving complimentary champagne and wine and dessert. Food was 10 out of 10."

  • "We took our children with us to this restaurant. We weren't expecting it to be quite so 'grown up' - there was no children's menu and after sitting down, we wondered if we should stay! But, the restaurant did an excellent job of keeping the kids entertained with crayons and toys and helping us all feel welcome. They were very accommodating with their food options for all of us, nothing was too much trouble. I will wait until the kids are teenagers before taking them back, but it is an excellent restaurant for couples and adult groups. Highly recommended."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed a marvelous dinner at The Grill Room last week! Our waiter Paul provided exceptional service, and the food was equally exceptional. From start to a surprise finish, a puff of white cotton candy!, the meal was one of the best we have had in years. Without hesitation we recommend The Grill Room, and we hope to return when in Whistler again next winter. s"

  • "We went to this restaurant for dinner after a week of skiing on the mountain. We got to the restaurant 10 minutes early to find our table was not ready for us on time. Restaurant was full when we sat down and the service was noticeably slow at the beginning, waiting 10 - 15 minutes for a drink order to be taken by our server. The ambiance of the room was nice, though with the mixture of families with little kids and business people / foodies the atmosphere was "unique". The quality of the food was quite impressive, each member of the group having a steak cooked exactly to their liking for the main course. In addition to the kitchen staff impressing me beyond expectations in dealing with a member of our party who has numerous allergies."

  • "Fine dining at Whistler with great ambience, an adequate array of choices, well prepared, beautifully presented, and delicious. We were not disappointed and exceeded our expectation."

  • "Everything was amazing- from the well made cocktails, to our server who was friendly and knowleadgeable without crowding like many servers do. It felt very relaxed, we felt at ease. The food was to die for..finally a restaurant that gets medium rare right! Although the one small side of the steak did taste a little tough/charred- other than that, it was flavorful and tender. It also helped that our sides were DELISH. I'm not normally a fan of truffled foods (long story) but the truffled mashed was very creamy, full of flavor but not overwhelmingly so. Dessert was also killer..definitely recommend the peanut butter chocolate bar. And did I mention there's complimentary cotton candy at the end of your meal??? Fantastic. Will def be back."

  • "We come to Whistler once a year for skiing. We have our favorite places to eat and thought we would give the Grill Room a try after doing this for about 8 years. And so glad we did! First of all, the service is so fantastic. Our server Paul was knowledgable, warm, friendly, and great with my 10 year old. The shrimp and grits will never taste the same anywhere else after having it here. Smooth, silky, and a treat for the soul. The tomato soup was prepared at table side. I have never seen a flambé used to make tomato soup but it not only was a fun show but the flavors and textures were so complementary. We were so full by our entrees of rib eye and duck breast, but the left overs just allows us to extend the evening through the next meal."

  • "Food was excellent. Our table ordered a variety of proteins including steak, game and fish and all were wonderfully prepared. Service was excellent as well. Wait staff was friendly and attentive and had an excellent in-depth knowledge of the menu, food preparation and wine/cocktail list."

  • "The tomahawk ribeye was great to split between 4. Everything about the experience was terrific, starting with the server. The BC Church & State meritage was too. It isn't cheap, but it's worth it if you're looking for an outstanding experience and terrific local sourced food."

  • "We experienced the best meal imaginable - the service was exceptional, the food was delicious & the Christmas decorations & open fire made the ambience a dream."

  • "We ordered the Elk Chop and the Char. Both were expertly done and very flavorful. The Grill Room was incredibly accommodating to a gluten allergy, making the Adult Mac with GF noodles."

  • "Dinner here was a great way to start the New Year. We ordered a variety of foods: seafood, elk (main & app), arctic char, gnocchi. All dishes were perfectly executed and flavourful, as were the side-dishes of various veg (plus awesome grits). Best dish: definitely the elk tartar with a quail egg on top - absolutely amazing. Warm pear & almond tart for desert was perfect, but the macaroons were just a tad underwhelming. Some were too sweet, others too bland. The only other criticism was the cool reception by the host and being given a table too close to the serving bar and entrance to the restaurant, when other perfect tables were available and for a long time. And a truly fine restaurant would not have been clumsy at giving our coats back."

  • "Overall, a very good meal. We happened to eat at the Airport Fairmont in Vancover the very next day and had a fabulous meal there. The one disappointment with our meal at the Grill Room was the very conservative amount of single malt scotch provided when cocktails were ordered. It amounted to three sips of scotch. The same beverage was ordered the next evening at the Airport Fairmont and a much more reasonable amount was provided."

  • "A high end restaurant should have better service. Water glasses left un filled. Waited for ages to order drinks. Food was good but not outstanding. For the price, we have had better meals"

  • "Great place for beef. The restaurant is a little formal, but it was a nice break from most places in Whistler that can often be full of noisy kids! The food was delicious and so much better than the typical steakhouse. Definitely worth a repeat. Go hungry as the servings are large, but oh so good."

  • "My wife and I had an early 5:15 dinner due to our long travel day to Whistler, B.C. We were the first party seated, and unfortunately this oddly resulted in us being seated back in a corner without any view of the wonderful fireplace. The wait staff, etc. was top notch and the service was excellent. The wine list was extensive, and we found a nice bottle of Pinot Noir for $60. We had a Sockeye gravlax as a starter. I found it quite good, but the wife found it "fishy." For the entree I had the Snake River Kobe rib eye, which was a bit over priced at $8 oz., but perfectly prepared medium rare. The Mrs. had the vegetarian gnocchi which she found "plain." All in all the food was very good but not exceptional for the price."

  • "Oysters and tomato tart were very good, but beet salad was best I've ever had. We both had tenderloin steaks for dinner which were cooked to temperature perfectly, fingerling and asparagus sides were fantastic. We had a trio of sauces with our steaks, so every bite was a different experience. The creme brûlée for dessert was a nice size, sweet and delicious. Wine list was a short one but a nice selection nonetheless. While the food was amazing, the best part of our meal was the service. All staff were on point but our server, Alex was warm and personable. As a fine dining server, I really respect other professional servers who deliver. Alex did, in every way."

  • "The Grill Room provided the very best ambiance and food combination we have ever had. The food was prepared with care and was succulent melt in your mouth. The ambiance was romantic with the snow falling outside and the roaring fire in the dining room. You couldn't ask for a better experience."

  • "We ate at the Grill Room for the first time on November 2nd and had a very good experience. We returned to the Chateau November 16th and again booked the Grill Room. This time, however, our experience was much less enjoyable. The food was still very good but the service was appalling. Our waiter was overly familiar (the Grill Room is not Cactus Club or the Keg) and he was inattentive. Part of the problem may have been that we had 4 different wait staff coming by our table and because of this some of our requests got lost in the shuffle. I had to pour my own wine at one point; our butter was rock hard but when I asked for softer butter the waiter completely forgot; my coffee after dinner was never refilled; bread took a very long time."

  • "Wow! The steak here is ultra top shelf. We had the Porterhouse steak for two and was not disappointed: tender, juicy and served with the bone and a carving knife so you can hack off the last trimmings. The vegetables were a complement to the fantastic steak. We did not order a sauce, but asked for horseradish sauce. But after one taste of the steak we put the horseradish aside -- it was too good to mask! Service was attentive and friendly, without getting overbearing. We were dressed smart casual and did not feel out of place. We had glasses of the Argentinian Malbec, and that was exquisite -- I've never had a Malbec like it from BC Liquor! If you are in staying at the Fairmont Whistler, or even in the village, this is a special treat."
