  • "a great resturant in the middle of a tourist crazy area. Quiet, cool, relaxing with good food."

  • "The Grill in Hollywood is a place we enjoy several times a year on our way to concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, Fonda Theater, Wiltern Theater or a show at The Pantages Theater. During our last couple of visits, we were served by the delightfully fun & funny John and his assistants. He was our request as part of our celebration of 45 years of marriage. Since we didn't have a show to hurry off too, it was nice to enjoy each others company and a lot more of John. The food is ALWAYS amazing. It was a very special night: The celebration of 45 years of marriage. Thanks you to everyone at The Grill in Hollywood for making it a night to remember. Jim & Judy "Oh So Fine...Since '69!!""

  • "We found The Grill about 7 years ago. We were touring Hollywood Blvd with our two granddaughters. It was hot & we were hungry. We slipped into this beautiful restaurant with a dark, cool, quiet & retro vibe. We all loved it. They accommodated the children's diet, & we had a great lunch. We have been back many times, & even came the night before the Academy Awards (too crowded), but still experienced great wait service & food. On our most recent visit, we were celebrating our 49th anniversary. It was the Tuesday before the 4th of July, so the restaurant was slow & very quiet, just like we appreciate it. Service, food & special little anniversary cake were all divine, & the waiter recommended the best red wine we've ever had."

  • "If you are in the mood for a great steak, this is the place!!! I had a New York that was seasoned so deliciously!! My husband got the filet mignon, which never disappoints. Splurged and had onion rings, soo yummy. Definitely will go back."

  • "This looks like a nice, upscale place, with upscale prices. The food is very good, but the service is very very slow. When we walked in at 7:30 on a Saturday night and the place has very few customers, that should have been a clue."

  • "Food is always good. I met/hosted a client for dinner. He arrived a few minutes ahead and had a drink already. I was seated but never offered a drink. The staff was standing under an umbrella nearby - talking for at least 15 min or so and I finally waved the waitress down and she came over and tool my drink order. The grilled salmon is amazing. Made up for the slow start."

  • "I looked at some reviews on Yelp and was afraid that this restaurant might not be up there with the other steak houses. We had the petite Filet Mignon with some form of veggie and Béarnaise Sauce. All of it was delicious and up there with all the "top" steak houses. The staff seemed a bit stressed out even though there weren't that many tables but everyone was courteous and apologetic."

  • "We arrived promptly at 5:30 for our reservation. We needed to dine early prior to attending an event at 7:30. Confusion between the order and the kitchen delayed our dinner arriving until 6:30 and then it was not well prepared. No one offered an explanation of the delay while we sat and waited. There wasn't time enough to fix the problem and enjoy eating so we left without my husband having his meal. The manager was apologetic but the evening was a waste."

  • "We arrived before our reservation and went directly to the bar to have a drink. We waiting over 15 minutes and not a single person in the restaurant greeted us including the bartender! So, we left and went to Cabo Wabo where we were immediately greeted and ordered drinks. Decided to stay for dinner. So disappointed by the service at the Grille as we enjoy stopping there before our night at the Hollywood Bowl. "

  • "The first time my wife and I went there the service was awesome. This last time the service was ok, I had made reservations but what I had put in the special instructions they completely ignored, the service was ok, but it could have been way better. Food was still amazing, as always."

  • "This was our first trip to the Grill. We were seeing Billy Joel at the Bowl as were many of the diners this evening. The Caesar salad dressing was outstanding. Just the right mix of vinegrette and creamy. My wife had the halibut and I had the filet. The filet was cooked perfetcly medium rare and had great seasoning. The halibut was good although we couldn't say it's the best we've ever had. We shared mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, both of which were great. The service was attentive and they made sure everyone wouldn't be late to the show."

  • "This Hollywood and Highland tourist trap tries to hit the high end steakhouse mark but misses by a lot . Prices were equivalent to a Mastros or Ruth's Chris, food was good but not unforgettable. The service was marginal and slow. drinks at $14 a pop were a shirt pour . Appeared to be trained but inexperienced. I would not recommend this place unless you were at Hollywood and Highland and couldn't get in anywhere else."

  • "The staff was excellent from the moment we set foot in the restaurant. We dined for lunch and the food was fine, but not great. I chose this restaurant primarily for its location near the Loews Hotel."

  • "Returned to The Grill in the Hollywood/Highland complex. We know it and have been to it a number of times but had not been in at least 6 months if not more. We booked dinner before a play at the Pantages. With validation, parking only $2 and very convenient. We were not disappointed one bit. I have had to shorten my review quite a bit, but in a nutshell: we had a 7/7 before dinner...we had the cheese bread and a wedge salad before dinner...we had the Short Ribs and the Blue Cheese crusted Filet Mignon, the Mashed Potato with Spinach and the Mac n Cheese. Everything was awesome and exemplary in their class. Wonderful flavors that define savory. This is not a grill but a white tablecloth, top notch restaurant. Go! You won't be sorry!"

  • "We ate here for a late lunch and sat outside which was very pleasant and enjoyable. Not very many people so we had great service that was very attentive to our every need. I had the Chicken Caesar Salad which was very tasty with chicken that was moist and you cut with a fork, the croutons were like garlic toast which was a pleasant surprise and overall great. My wife had the Cobb Salad which she enjoyed as it was cut and mixed together making it easier to eat. The price is a little high but, then again you are in Hollywood. Looking forward to returning again sometime soon."

  • "Classic expensive steak house food, and appropriate expensive steakhouse vibe, with tall private booths, dark woods, and low light. Unfortunately, our female food server was arrogant and rude. As we asked questions about the menu, she rolled her eyes as though she could smell a ticket under $200???? After delivering our food, we never saw her again, and we ended up getting our bill from the hostess! Don't order the chicken, or the staff may have a good laugh at your expense!"

  • "This was/is an excellent choice for dinner, prior to attending the Dolby Theatre. Comfortable setting, good menu choices and quite good service. The food was hot, tasty, and ample. All in all, a good spot to dine, without going to the theatre."

  • "Great food and service! Nice tables outside overlooking the plaza and water fountain area. Dine under the umbrellas at lunch or early evening; it's most pleasant there .The waitstaff is thoughtful and attentive. The steaks and salads are excellent but we love the giant shrimp cocktail. Don't miss the tender beef short ribs with spinach mashed potatoes. The scallops are sweet and cooked perfectly. The beef filet will be cooked perfectly with your choice of sauce- so hard to choose one! For dessert the hazelnut creme brûlée was worth every bite! Don't miss this gem. Lovely atmosphere with creative cocktails from the bar as well. And parking is right at the Highland Center and The Grill will stamp your parking ticket for you."

  • "The service was so slow. We waited almost 20 mins. for our order. Food was just OK, nothing special about. We were seated near the kitchen door, so it was noisy and chaotic (waiters in and out non-stop). I did not have a positive impression on The Grill."

  • "The food as well as the service is always outstanding here. If you're in Hollywood or attending a performance at the Dolby this is the place to go for a meal. We've been here on several previous occasions and this place is consistently good. This time our waitress did everything right but did forget our dessert order … which we really didn't need anyway. LOL"

  • "We had brunch. Server brought toasted bagel without butter. When we asked for butter, response was " Uh, yeah." Bagel and the butter arrived after our other food was finished. Service during the meal was very slow despite restaurant having very few customers yet. We had to look for the server to get our check when we were ready to leave."

  • "Not only did it take way too long for our drinks to come, but mine was wrong (I was served a Stella Artois, instead of a Sierra Nevada that I ordered). Then the wait staff brought our entrees out before our salads. I was not impressed with the service at all. Unless it gets markedly better, I will not spend the money to go back here. For the prices charged, it wasn't worth it. At least the food was tasty."

  • "We went as a party of 5 for my son's birthday before the theatre and had a great time. Service was outstanding. Crab cake was delicious, wedge salad excellent and New York steak perfectly cooked. Kitchen split dishes in the kitchen with no fuss. Would go again!"

  • "I took my teen daughters here for a nice steak dinner while in Hollywood. The food was DELICIOUS! I was a bit dissapointed in the service. It was a very slow night and our server forgot to bring our bread and our appetizer. He was very apologetic but by then I was a bit annoyed. He did take the appetizer off of our bill and offered us a free dessert. I would have preferred getting the things we ordered and paying for them. The food we did receive was excellent."

  • "Great restaurant - only problem is the location inside a horribly busy mall with six levels of parking! But that's not their fault! Food was great and so was the service!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The restaurant was nice, only problem for me was that the steak I ordered (which was called Petite New York steak, which was the smallest in the menu) was way too large. The size of it made me lose my appetite a bit, it was just too much. But the staff was great, service was great. It was pricey, but the quality made of the food and service was worth it."

  • "We of us met with client prospects in the mid afternoon, six of us, and were treated patiently and royally with outstanding almost invisible service that permitted us to have a fee flowing successful conversation.. Good food at a reasonable price/."

  • "The quality, creativeness and presentation of the food; superb, friendly service; and marvelous ambiance make dining at The Grill an exceptional experience and without a doubt documenting that this is one of the finest restaurants in the world! ."

  • "Used to have more of a selection but they have gone to a "steak place only" sort of menu. Food was good but not worth the price in my opinion. Too bad used to like this place a lot more than I do now."

  • "My husband and I were looking for a nice place to eat for our anniversary. We arrived promptly for our 9:30 pm reservation. The restaurant was empty, we saw 2-3 tables with diners. Yet we stood at the hostess stand for at least 5 minutes before a gentleman came to seat us. We were about ready to walk out. I mentioned it was our anniversary to the host & his response was ok. Customer service is not his forte. The lamb chops my husband ordered were delicious as was the mushroom risotto I ordered. The broccolini tasted like the dirty charred grill. For a restaurant charging $35+ per entree a higher level of service is expected. This place was a huge let down. We will not be back nor would we recommend this restaurant to anyone else."

  • "I wanted a nice restaurant for a Sunday brunch that was close to the Pantages, as we had matinee theater tickets. We were one of the first people to arrive that morning so had our pick of dining options. We chose the open patio with table umbrellas. It was a nice day and we could look out over the plaza. The food and service was outstanding. Our waiter paid attention to details and the egg white omelette was perfect. Try the Monkey Bread. It is a meal in itself."

  • "The Grill is our favorite restaurant for a special night out in Hollywood. The ambiance is wonderful whether your seated inside or out on the patio. We decided to dine here prior to going to the theater and it was a fabulous choice. Our waiter took extra special care of us with our special menu request in honor of my dad and was mindful to get us out in time for the show. The food was spectacular and added to our overall enjoyment of the evening. All in all a fabulous dining experience."
