The Grill From Ipanema in Seattle is all about Rodízio, a popular Brazilian style of enjoying dinner among friends and a truly unique dining experience. Rodízio offers a wide variety of different cuts of grilled meats slowly roasted in specially designed charcoal grills. Served continuously by "passadores" or "gauchos" with food brought on skewers or carved to order tableside, servers make their rounds until guests can’t take another bite. Dining at The Grill From Ipanema also includes unlimited visits to the "mesa de frios" (cold table) for an array of cold cuts, cheeses, and exotic Brazilian specialties.

  • "Great food, great atmosphere, overall A+ The food is set up as buffet style and they come around with roasted meats to choose from. They circle the tables a few times, which gives you the option to try a variety of grilled meats. The food tasted great and the buffet had such refreshing fruits, salads, and other menu entree items. I will definitely be going back!! If you're looking to try something new or just looking for change from the typical american cuisine, you should start here!! It's definitely different in terms of how food is prepared/served, but still meets the american standard for those questioning if the food is too different. Cheers!"

  • "My wife and I took our family (three young men in their early 20s) to Ipanema for our son's birthday. This was our fourth time to Ipanema and I can say that we've always had a great experience at this restaurant -- especially for lunch, when the price is reasonable. The salad bar is fresh, extensive and is overall fabulous. And the skewers of meat are absolutely delicious. The service on this visit was very good. And at the end of the meal we were given a complimentary dessert for my son's birthday. We had a great time and we'll be back at the end of the month for another birthday celebration."

  • "All in all it was a nice meal but a bit on the pricey side. Thanks to a coupon the price was cut a bit but still more than I would normally spend. At times we waited for meat for longer than we wanted but then realized that if we asked for a certain cut of meat it would come faster. It was a nice experience but certainly would not be a routine for us. Because of the cost, I wouldn't suggest children."

  • "My husband had never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before and I have many years ago we both absolutely loved the grille from Ipanema. Great place for a romantic evening although I wouldn't bring my kiddos, way too expensive for an entire family to dine. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderfully modern and Hollywood, the service was soso, our waiter wasn't very helpful nor attentive but the gauchos were polite."

  • "I read some mixed reviews about the Grill, but the groupon was too good to pass up. When we arrived, the hostess was super friendly and professional. Our server was friendly and really eager to serve and get us what we needed. The food was amazing. The meats were juicy and flavorful. The salad bar was really good and fresh. We didn't get dessert, but they looked like they had been sitting out for a while. So I would maybe ask for a fresh one if you get dessert. Overall, we were very pleased."

  • "We were there for a big brunch birthday party celebration. They have 2 hours limit for the Rodizio. The Gaucho with the meat come about at least every 5 minutes to give us a thin slice of meat that took less than 1 minute to chow it down. And to make it even worse, 1 skewers was not enough to feed the whole table because the Gaucho has to go back to cook the inside part of the meat. A lot of us end up waiting and waiting for those meat to come back. Of course we can eat the salad bar food while we are waiting. But we go there for the meat. And before we even feel satisfied, we were notified that we need to leave because we hit our 2 hours limit. None of the people in our group even feel satisfied. We were all still want some meat!"

  • "The "all you can eat" meat sampler is awesome. The constant taste of the wonderful cuts was great. The salad bar was well stocked and complementary to the meats... Go with a group though... between bites you will find yourself with time, which is perfect for friendly chatter.... I will go back..."

  • "Then ensure there's enough to go around. DO NOT expect any more than 4 items if you make a late lunch reservation. All they served us was the tri-tip, house sirloin, Parmesan pork and pineapple. The bacon wrapped steak made an appearance on the floor but never made it to our table. And when we asked, we were told that they "were out". I used to love this place but I'm not going back again."

  • "My husband and I went with some friends and had a blast! This dinner was all about meat overload. Not something I would suggest when getting up the next morning for a 9 mile run. Great ambience, delicious food, and service was outstanding. So many delicious things to eat was a little overwhelming. But once I told myself there is always the next visit made it easier to plan for what I would eat tonight verse on my next visit. Also loved their music selection. I felt like I should look out the window and see a sandy beach with beautiful turquoise water and not the freeway. We did however see a beautiful sunset. Another gorgeous day in Seattle!"

  • "VERY small portions (unless you have all night your not going to get full).Don't sit by the southwest windows, the view is overflowing dumpsters and seagulls feed on the garbage. Lack of table settings means you place your utensils on the not so clean tables (sticky). Wines were overpriced."

  • "This is my 3rd visit and I've enjoyed myself each time. The Rodizio is a fun buffet experience. The salad bar is amazing with grilled and marinated vegetables, fresh fruit, etc... it's hard to not fill up so there's room for the meats. The meats carved/served at each table on a spit is an experience onto itself; makes it 'fun' - the flavors of the seasoning and tenderness of the meats is just so delicious! We had the same waiter from our previous visit several months ago and he's so nice and attentive - just makes it all the more enjoyable! There's 3 of us, but having a Groupon makes it more affordable, plus we order a few drinks too! I really like this place!"

  • "This restauran well known in Seattle and highly recommend. ordered off the menu, not what ii expected. I was lead to believe it was a veal steak. I even asked for it to be cooked rare. Anyway plate was served and it was nothing more then a stew with mystery meat. Service was mediocre at best."

  • "This was our second visit to The Grill from Ipanema and this time I opted to order just the "salad" bar and my husband went for the rodizzio again. The meat carvings come very fast from servers dressed all in black so be sure to watch your "go or no" card else you might just be getting too much too soon. The "salad" bar is really more of a buffet as it includes soup, rice and beans, chicken, "stroganoff" including ribs, salmon and shrimp as well as green salads, fruit and more. The selections do change as I noticed my favorite artichoke heart and shrimp salad was not offered this night. There were lots of mushrooms, and I do love mushrooms, but I found that most of them were too heavily marinated in soy sauce."

  • "This is a great restaurant with a unique approach to dining. We were a group of 6 and had excellent service. The waiters were all so nice and accommodating. I liked the buffet selections (lots of non-carb choices) and the meats on the skewers were all really good. It was fun to taste a lot of different meats without feeling like you were eating too much or leaving a lot of food on your plate."

  • "I have been to other Brazilian Rodizio style restaurants in other cities and was excited to try one in my area. I went in with a Groupon in hand and had lunch. The food bar was nice and had plenty of options. The rodizio was wonderful. The meat was very flavorful. Though, if you don't like your meat very rare - this is not a great choice for you. My husband was a bit disappointed that the meat was not cooked more and that it didn't even seem like an option. We only saw our waiter one time throughout the meal and the seating is not private in any way. The tables are close together and offer no intimacy so I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic outing. Again the carnivore in me loved the different cuts of meat offered."

  • "The last time we had lunch here there were a lot of kids running around & being followed/chased by their parents in & out of the tables. Certainly not the restaurant's fault but effected our experience. The pork choice wasn't offered enough (my favorite) & the salad bar was very empty. Not how it has been in the past. We love this place & will be back."

  • "The Rodizio experience was amazing. The "salad bar" was hardly a salad bar. It consisted of about 40 dishes ranging from soup, beans, rice, mashed potatoes like you've never had before, fresh fruit, veggies, cured meats, cheeses, olives, mushrooms. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I would recommend only selecting fruits on your first trip to the "salad bar". The Rodizio experience was amazing. Waitstaff circulate the dining room with selections of meat and grilled pineapple on spears. They are happy to cut as much as you wish. Save room. At lunch 11 meats are circulated. At dinner it is 17 meats. Everything was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. My 10 year old says that this is her favorite restaurant. Great view too."

  • "I ate at a FOGO a few years back so I had a fairly good understanding of how I was going to approach The Grill From Ipanema. Don't overdo it on the salad bar which is hard to resist. So much fresh and tasty choices! And learn when to turn that flip card over to "red" so the meat-on-a-stick people will stop coming by. It's easy to overeat here which is why I wouldn't consider this a start to a romantic evening. I gave the Ambience only 3 stars but that's because we were seated at the windown and I had a view of the viaduct. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful. Wines-by-the-glass selection was decent. My wine of the day / special was excellent. I wish I could remember what it was."

The food was fantastic just wish I could have fit more in:) One of the options on the menu is buffet style and in addition to the buffet the servers come around with different meats. The meats were all fabulous...melt in your mouth flavor! Its a fun experience too as you have the option with a card to flip over to tell the servers you want more meat or you can turn it over to say no thank you are fine for now and the servers won't stop at your table and bug you if you don't want more. I must say the grilled pineapple with cinnamon and sugar was my ultimate favorite a serious treat to finish an amazing meal. I would definitely go back and eat there again."

  • "The ambiance of this place makes you feel as if you're on vacation- it's warm, welcoming, vibrant, and energetic. We went in with a Groupon and left pleasantly surprised. We ordered the salad bar only option for me and both of us ended up only eating from the salad bar as it was so big and had a fabulous variety that we didn't need the grill option. The wait staff were very understanding and had no issue with us changing our mind to only get the salad bar. They don't pressure you there, they give excellent service throughout and they try to accommodate as best as possible while you are waiting for your table."

  • "We use to eat at the Ipanema on special occasions when it was across from SAM. We loved it, and were heart broken when it closed. We tried a couple other Brazilian grills in the area that just didn't provide the same experience, food-wise or in atmosphere. Just walking in the door of The Grill from Ipamema was like coming home, and the food and service confirmed it. All we could say was "It's nice to be back home!""

  • "We went with our son and his fiancé. In the week before going we had heard raves from 2 different friends of ours. We all had a great time with great food and great service. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We paced ourselves and were able to taste most of the 17 different meats. The salad bar is the best ever. The food was fresh and tasty. We had a great time and will definitely be back."
