A word from The Grill From Ipanema
AUTHENTIC BRAZILIAN STEAKHOUSE
The Grill From Ipanema in Seattle is all about Rodízio, a popular Brazilian style of enjoying dinner among friends and a truly unique dining experience. Rodízio offers a wide variety of different cuts of grilled meats slowly roasted in specially designed charcoal grills. Served continuously by "passadores" or "gauchos" with food brought on skewers or carved to order tableside, servers make their rounds until guests can’t take another bite. Dining at The Grill From Ipanema also includes unlimited visits to the "mesa de frios" (cold table) for an array of cold cuts, cheeses, and exotic Brazilian specialties.

You need to be hungry to eat at The Grill. The meats are abundant and good. The salad bar is also extensive and good. The restaurant's ambience is very nice and in a good location. The only negative was I found the service to be slow. When we first sat down we ordered drinks. It took almost 20 minutes for them to reach our table; we had already started to eat our dinner. Our server was also missing in action a good deal of the evening.

Rodizio style serving is always entertaining for everyone at the table. The Grill From Ipanema also has a tremendous salad bar that will keep the "rabbits" in your party delighted. I don't think I'd want to visit this restaurant often, though. It's more for the reasons of novelty one dines here than the food... not that the food was bad, just that it wasn't GREAT.

There were five of us with different appetites. Three of us did the abundant, very complete and filling "salad" bar which was much more than that! Two of us went for the amazing meat that was presented and sliced off at your table that also came with the salad bar. We were all so full at the end of the meal that we couldn't even try one of their delicious beautiful desserts. We will certainly return when we are very hungry!

3rd time there-brought new friends. Had same waiter who took great care of us last time, remembered us and proceeded to take immaculate care of us again! Friends were very impressed! it was late evening dinner after a concert, and I think we were last out, but no one made us feel rushed or hurried and food was delicious! try the Passion fruit trifle for dessert-bomb!

Our reservation was not honored until almost 30 minutes past the time confirmed. The dining room was very warm and extremely noisy. So noisy that I could not hear the servers when the meat was brought to the table. Our party of 6 was seated at a booth which made it very inconvenient to make trips to the salad bar. The drink order took too long to come. The selection of meat was incomplete; many of the different skewers did not come to our table. We asked 3 times for the shrimp before it arrived. The server was not very attentive and our plates were not removed in a timely manner when we went back to salad bar.

The variety of grilled foods brought to the table is good. My favorite is the grilled pineapple...delicious! the side dish bar has a lot of items and you could make a meal on that alone, but leave room for the grilled pineapple, you won't be disappointed.

I've been to The Grill before and had the rodizio, which was fun and very filling (great salad bar, too), however on a second visit my daughter and I decided to order off the menu. Based on our helpful server's recommendations, we both ordered the skirt steak with a side of veggies. It was absolutely the tastiest steak that I have had in years. The side order of asparagus was grilled to perfection. The steak comes with a traditional fried egg on the steak (optional). We complimented the meal with an excellent bottle of Malbec then shared a heavenly custard-type dessert topped with fruit. A perfect, light, sweet ending to a lovely evening.

Yes, a Brazilian steakhouse is the way to go if you like sampling different cuts of meat and comparing flavors and textures in a single meal. It also has an excellent salad bar. Beware a later afternoon seating on a sunny day by the windows however; even with the blinds lowered, you're going to be very warm.

While the concept of the rodizio style dining was unique, the food was unfortunately not very good. Of the tons of food options, the only items I thought were well prepared were the asparagus soup, mashed sweet potatoes, tri tip steak & grilled pineapple. All the other meats were overcooked/dry &/or tasteless. Glad we used a Groupon, or I would have been even more disappointed with the high price.

I went to the grill for my 21st birthday. It was a family dinner so I was happy that the restaurant was kid friendly and didn't intimidate. They have an open salad bar which is amazing! We loved the soups. Their speciality is the Rodizio which is what we had I wish I could have tried all the 17 different types of meat but I got full too fast, overall fun and delicious. Great staff! Very friendly, the bill was a bit hefty but for what we got I think it's a fair price, I recommend the grill from ipanema for a special dinner, I will be coming back.

Great food, personable servers, and a unique dining experience. I'd definitely go back! I would call in my reservation next time, however, since my online reservation somehow didn't register. I had requested a window table for our special occasion, but when we arrived they weren't expecting us so we kind of got plopped at an empty table on the side/back. It wasn't a huge deal - we asked to move and they accommodated. Service was fast and provided a great variety of foods to try. We had the Rodizio - open salad and sides bar with a huge variety of things, and then 17 different types of meat began circulating to our table. Bring your appetite!

Had lunch at 12:30 on a Saturday. Restaurant was about 80% full, but there were only about 3-4 servers. Because of the way Brazilian steakhouses work, servers were only able to serve a few tables at a time before running back to the kitchen to put the meat back on the grill. With only about 4 servers, and around 60 customers, service was slow. It only came up to speed when the restaurant started to empty out as it approached 2:00. Salad bar was surprisingly large, although I didn't particularly enjoy it. There were only a few items I wanted to go back to get for seconds. A bunch of the salads were drenched in oil, or some other type of dressing. They all felt very heavy.

Go hungry if you're going to order the Rodizio because it also comes with the all you can eat "salad bar". Make sure you wait for the servers to bring around the cinnamon grilled pineapple - it's delicious. The filet had way too much garlic on it this last week, it was overpowering, and my boyfriend is allergic to garlic. The cheese steak and other meats were prepared well.

I've been to several Brazilian restaurants such as Fogo de Chao in Boston. Relatively, Ipanema has similar food but a nicer atmosphere. However, the service at Ipanema isn't as responsive as other Brazilian steakhouses. They're generally slow with beverages, taking initial orders, bringing the bill, etc.

I couldnt help compairing my previous experience with FogoDeCho and our brunch here. The gauchos arent Brazilian or costumed, which was different from FDC. The salad bar was smaller, with less artistic displays. Now for the good..... First, the food was phenominal. Salad bar was stocked with top quality ingredients. Meats flavorful and tender. Wasnt aware that lunch menu didnt feature all 18 meats....that too was different. But what we had was fabulous and sufficient. The manager was attentive and made us feel very welcome, stopping by often to make sure we were comfortable. Overall, food was equal to my other experiences, but more of a casual atmosphere. We will return often!

We came here with empty stomach and still came out of the restaurant with an impending food coma. I think I heard the waiter said there was 19 different meats to try, and on top of that there was the buffet and the dessert cart. The waiter didn't really know much about the wines, but at least he knew what the most popular was. I greatly recommend this restaurant. Keep a look out for the Groupon, because The Grill can be quite expensive.

My wife and I treated ourselves to a rare night out sans kids and Ipanema Grill was the escape we needed. We had the rodizio and salad bar. The servings of grilled meats were tender, succulent and seasoned wonderfully. Nearly each piece was delightful and certainly every bite was a fun exploration of taste and texture. We sampled everything from filet mignon to lamb to bacon wrapped steak. The salad bar alone was an amazing selection of grilled and marinated items. Asparagus, mushrooms, olives, artichokes, haricot verts and so much more. Few restaurants are capable of offering such variety and quality. The service was warm and responsive. Our server, Rodrigo, was charming and attentive. The dining room offers lovely mountainviews.

Went for the first time not knowing what to expect. When I was told that there were 17 meats on rotation my heart skipped a beat. Lets start with the salad bar, this is not your applebees salad bar! Ranging from steak in gravy sauce to caramelized apples you could get fat just off the salad bar and be extremely happy with how it all tasted. I made it a point to try as many of the 17 meats on rotation as I possibly could and in the process found my favorite that tasted amazing. For dessert we got the Dulce de leche crepe which I had to fight my girlfriend over... she won. I WIILL be back again as this was one delicious experience I wont forget anytime soon!

Wonderful place for something different! We had the rodizio grill where we chose from an amazing unlimited salad bar and then what seemed like an unending selection of meats are brought to the table. The quality of the food was phenomenal and the whole rodizio style made for an excellent dining experience. It was quite warm though due to large west facing windows and they didn't seem to have aircon. Would be perfect in cooler weather.
