The Grill From Ipanema in Seattle is all about Rodízio, a popular Brazilian style of enjoying dinner among friends and a truly unique dining experience. Rodízio offers a wide variety of different cuts of grilled meats slowly roasted in specially designed charcoal grills. Served continuously by "passadores" or "gauchos" with food brought on skewers or carved to order tableside, servers make their rounds until guests can’t take another bite. Dining at The Grill From Ipanema also includes unlimited visits to the "mesa de frios" (cold table) for an array of cold cuts, cheeses, and exotic Brazilian specialties.

  • "We started off at happy hour, sitting right at the bar. They have a very reasonable happy hour menu and the bartender was friendly and extremely accomodating. Our table was wonderful, our service was excellent, and I found the food to be awesome, if not a tad salty. The Rodizio is the way to go. Expecting the cold bar buffet to have only cold items, I was pleasantly surprised to find it included hot soups and other hot items. This was a big plus. The Manager visited tables to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal. All servers interacted so nicely with their specific tables. The atmosphere is beautiful, the music/drinks transported me and it was a truly excellent meal in all regards."

The service is awesome, they are very nice, if you tell them you are waiting for a certain cut of meat to come around they make sure to send it to your table ASAP. We love it, we've been here for a date, for birthday celebrations and to share with family guests. Everybody leaves with a full tummy and happy."

  • "My Husband and I had a date night recently at Ipanema, and not only love the ambiance and atmosphere, but the food was AMAZING! Every cut of meat we got was cooked perfectly (not too rare, seasoned just right etc) and the salad bar is was cleaned and stocked with tons of awesome fresh veggies, cheeses and sides. Our waiter was very attentive, even coming to refill our sangria glasses with our pitcher when they were getting low. It appeared that the owner was present this night, and had stopped by our table with some biscuits and a dessert, he was very friendly and it seemed like very involved with the restaraunt which I love to see. Over all awesome experience, well worth the money and we will be back!"

  • "This was one of the best parts of my visit to Seattle. Everything was delicious. The salad bar was awesome. Actually it should be called the side dish bar because it have EVERYTHING on it.If you order the Rodizio make sure you try the Pepper Steak and the Bacon Wrapped Date stuffed with blue cheese. Now, this place is a bit pricey, but worth it(there is a groupon for $60 off)"

  • "This was the first time we had ever had rodizio. All the meats were cooked to perfection, and the service was great. Our waiter explained everything perfectly, and the gauchos were very friendly. The food bar was also excellent, and had a wide variety of salads and side dishes. The view is also very nice from the dining room. We had a great table near the windows and had a nice view of the sound. I would not recommend going here on a hot day (over 80 F outside temperature). The temperature in the dining room was well over 80 degrees F. I know A/C is typically not needed in Seattle, and had the weather been more temperate the temperature inside the restaurant would have been more bearable."

  • "Food was very good,, waiter was good. Receptionist was a bit short, we were there about 20 minutes early for our 5pm dinner reservvation and we were not seated at our table until 5:05. We were the first ones to be seated and since my dad was in a wheelchair she suggested that we sit at the first table in the dinning room. There were tons of window seats but she kept on insisting that this was best for us. We would have preferred a window seat I guess if your in a wheelchair that is out of the questions."

  • "Went for our 26th wedding anniversary and our server was helpful and generous. Used our groupon and wasn't treated like trailer park trash. Our server let us switch tables to a widow table and we were able to watch the sun set over the Olympic mountains while we ate endless meat. Great salad bar too. Great place for a special occasion."

  • "If you're going here for a "meat-fest" consider the following: 1. Overall the meat tastes pretty good. However, the waiters are clearly trained to minimize portions significantly while cutting it. By this I mean they will give you only a small thin sliver of each portion. We finally asked for additional cuts each time only to feel like we were being rude, and then only receiving a very small sliver once again. Filet Mignon came only on e and that was only after we requested it twice. If you're accustomed to great Brazilian like Fogo de Chao, you are in for the same disappointment we experienced. 2. The salad bar is okay. Not as opulent as most Brazilian places we have been to but it suffices."

  • "I was not impress with the food. I have been to a Brazilian restaurant in Chicago and the best experience. I told my friends about it; so I wanted to eat at this one. I was so disappointed that I couldn't eat the food; steak very dry and chewy. I would never go back to this restaurant; they say there are 17 choices; but we might have gotten four. My guest kept saying where are the 17 choices."

  • "While our waitress, Carmen, was perfectly pleasant and accommodating, that's about where the excellence stopped for us at the Grill from Ipanema. The restaurant was way too hot (sweltering) to be enjoyable for an evening dinner and my companion and I sweated our way through our meal. The food was hit-and-miss. Our favorite was the cheese steak, but some of the other items were so dry, they were inedible. The caipirinhas were delicious, but they were served in short glasses, had barely any liquid in them (three slurps and the drink was gone); I counted nine lime wedges in my tiny glass. Between the sweaty, uncomfortable ambience, the stingy drinks, and the cooked-to-death ribs/chicken, we left after 40 min. I won't be back."

  • "My close friends and I deeply mourned the closing of Ipanema on First Avenue. It was our special occasion destination for many years, and the other churrascarias that have opened since have been somewhat disappointing. The Grill from Ipanema however, does not disappoint. The salad bar is deep and varied without being overwhelming with minor variations for the sake of variation, but of course, it's the meats that are the true test. The quality during all of my visits has been excellent. Perfect cooking, seasoning, and presentation. If the passadoros arrive too frequently then cuts grow cold before you can enjoy them. If too rarely, then the wonderful sense of bounty is diminished. These passadoros arrive just when you want them to."

  • "The Grill at Impanema has great food and fantastic staff. They were very helpful explaining the best choices for food and why. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was great. I would recommend lunch time as the prices go up quite a bit after 2pm. Kids prices are awesome. My 9 year old ate all she wanted for $8. Would for sure go again!"

  • "The food was excellent, we did the full package. The only recommendations would be to have options on temperature. All meet is medium rare to rare and my wife is more of a medium well person. Also, there are 17 cuts of meat but no list so you don't know if you have tried everything and if you are missing a few, you don't know what you are missing. The service started out good for us. We arrived at 6 and it was full but not crowded. They came by with meat every few minutes. As the evening progressed they got more crowded and suddenly we weren't seeing service but every 15 minutes and our waiter all but abandoned us. We had a Groupon for $60 and after tip we still paid out $70 for 2 people so plan accordingly."
