A word from The Grill - Forest Hills
The concept for The Grill originated back in 1980s, when the owner Oleg Kaz settled in Forest Hills. Oleg’s passion for delicious homemade food grilled on sticks was influenced by his father Alec, who built a Kebab Grill made of stone in the backyard of their house.“We were grilling everything on sticks” said Oleg. “Having a garden in the yard made everything taste even better by growing our own vegetables, herbs and spices". Working in the food industry for over 15 years, Oleg always dreamed of opening a Mediterranean Restaurant in the Forest Hills' famous restaurant row, in the vicinity of Austin St. The dream became reality for Oleg, and now he is inviting you to enjoy the ultimate Mediterranean dining experience in the heart of Forest Hills.
Whether you are out on a date, or girls’ night out, or simply having dinner with family or friends, The Grill Mediterranean Restaurant & Bar has the perfect atmosphere for everyone. It serves specially-prepared grilled meats and seafood!

  • "Went to The Grill with 8 people early on a Friday night. Although the appetizers were good, the rest of the food was just eh. After waiting close to an hour for our mains to be served, lamb chops that were asked to be medium came out very well done and the $26 seafood extravaganza was four pieces of fish/shellfish and the wrong side came with. When we received the check we sat at our table for 20 minutes with no one coming to pick up our rather large bill. We went over to the bar to pay and after they tried to put through our entire bill a second time on our credit card, told us credit was denied...yes, credit cards do that as fraud protection. In general, overpriced and very poor service. I will not be returning to The Grill."

  • "We came here with some friends and the place was empty for a Saturday night. My salmon was tasty and the grilled asparagus was good. My wife's pork kebab was too salty. Please use less salt. The branzino was small for $26. Another friend did enjoy the shrimp kebab."

  • "Food was delicious...we had a range of dishes that each had it's own distinct flavor and were cooked to perfection! They had a decent wine list but their Sangrias were the highlight! They had white, red, and apple cider...the red was insane! Service was great! Ambiance was nice! Definitely a little hidden gem!"

  • "We had made reservations for 4 and when we arrived they squeezed us at a table clearly made for 2. When I commented on the size of the table I was just brushed off. When the appetizer came, there wasn't enough room at the table so they removed one of our plates. So I guess they felt it okay that one of the 4 of us didn't have a plate to eat off of. (we laughed and made the best of it). The meal came before we were finished with the appetizer. The food was good, but I wouldn't go back."

  • "We had a wonderful night at the Grill. This was our first visit. The directions to the restaurant came up wrong on open table site.. Took us to a location off of Metropolitan Ave. It is on "Restaurant row" in Forest Hills between Austin and Queens Blvd. Parking is almost impossible on the street. We used the lot. The food was really good. BTW our kebabs came with a side. I got the carrots and they were terrific. I also had a mixed drink. It was one of the best I have had in years.. I would defiantly recommend this restaurant. Dark and fun."

  • "The owner has achieved his goal with the fire grilled kabobs he produced. The chicken especially was delicious and the lamb even though a bit gamey really captivated the Mederatarian region. His sides were also very tasty his caramelized carrots are a must try, great beets and the sea salt wedges were also delicious. The only thing in the food department this restaurant needs to work on is portions a little more food maybe some rice with the kabob would be fitting seeing that it costs $20 . It's worth it though I'd return with my friends instead of a date, place was live with bar and families having a great time. Staff needs to be on water refills I finished my water mid-meal and never got a refill that's my only complaint."

  • "Being Armenian, I know kebab. This place does a wonderful job with their kebab. The menu is a bit more upscale, offering some wonderful sides instead of just regular pilaf. The appetizers are great, especially the spreads. Our server was exceptional - we gave a generous tip. Looking forward to making this a regular spot for dinner."
