"We arrived to find an empty restaurant, but blaring, inappropriate music. I suggested politely that "the ambience of the restaurant might be improved if the music could be turned down". The waiter angrily left and slightly lowered the music. We left to go to another restaurant. The grill is probably best as an after-golf burger stop."

"My wife and I really tried hard to like the TPC Grill. The positives: I really liked the atmosphere and view of the 18th green. We sat inside, but could see the outdoor seating which also looked very nice. Our waiter was very good. The three stars I rated "service" is an average between four stars for the waiter and two stars for the kitchen. The negatives: Scottsdale has a number of very nice restaurants, so the competition is fierce. Even among the restaurants at the Fairmont Princess campus (The Bourbon Steakhouse, Hacienda,...), the Grill fails to distinguish itself. The food was OK, but it took almost 1 hour to get it in a half-full restaurant. The $6 asparagus side could have fit in the palm of my hand--small for ala carte."

"We were not informed of construction on site. No valet parking. Dining room was overbooked so we were placed in an enclosed patio room was drafty and could,and far from romantic for a Valentine Day special dinner. The waiters were not well trained but were friendly.

At best this would serve as a great informal lunch and dinner for golfers or as place to meet during or after a golf tournament. Definitely cannot be compared to other formal dining establishments in Scottsdale. Very disappointing experience."

"It was fine -- nothing special, but not bad. Service was friendly and attentive. The view of the TPC's 18th hole is nice if you get there before dark. Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything you can't get elsewhere, especially at this price.

Don't park at the Fairmont and take the shuttle, even though the hotel valet will tell you to. Just drive directly to the restaurant and park there."

"Despite the statement in the hotel brochure that it would "feature a prix fixe menu, in addition to their regular menu," it took some effort to order from a very limited regular menu. It was almost as if the staff did not know what the hotel promised guests. But Kirk and Patrick made the best of what was turning into a very bad experience."
