  • Nice night at the Grill

We celebrated my husband's 50th at the Grill last Sunday night. We came in from the east coast and were staying at the Inn. It was a perfect and easy place to eat and reconnect. The service was outstanding. The hotel screwed up our rooms so the hostess Kendall gave us a few free apps which was really nice. It wasn't busy and we didn't feel rushed and the food was good! For a group of 6, everybody was happy with their meals.

We have had dinner here before but on this visit we had breakfast. My husband enjoyed the buffet they had & he enjoyed it very much. They had everything you could want. I wasn't that hungry so ordered a basic American Breakfast & it was very good. They have a lovely wrap around deck if you want to eat outside as well as a comfy dining room. It was very good!

We had the Kobe beef hamburger special on Wednesday night. The hamburger was average to good, we all thought. Solid beef, but not very juicy or thick. Since we assembled it and added condiments ourselves, it was like serving a grilled burger at home. It came with fries or cole slaw, both good. The dinner was in a comfortable dining room with windows all around. I'm glad there was plenty of room between tables since the children at the next table were very active and their spilled beverage didn't splash on us. The adjacent bar area was very noisy, too. I thought the overall experience was okay but we probably will not return unless we're too tired to drive elsewhere.

Made last minutes reserves for a birthday. Instructions followed very well, appreciated that. However, service was very slow and intermittent. They delivered the birthday dessert before giving us dessert menus. Had to wait forever to get menus and order. Meanwhile the birthday lady sat with her dessert in front of her. Overall the food was presented nicely and we all enjoyed our lunch and dessert, when we finally got it. They needed more servers.

Due to the earthquake, and other restaurants closing, we ate here a couple of time on our recent trip, and we could not be happier. The food is very good, high quality, and the kitchen has quite the range, from Ribs to grilled seafood, to lambshank, etc. A mix of comfort food and fine dining. Everything we had we enjoyed. The staff is exceptional. Both Abe and Stephan are simply great, we enjoyed them very very much, which is important to us. No request too big or small, extremely friendly, they just made the experience wonderful. The food is very good, but honestly, even if it wasn't, I'd go back just for the service. The vibe is country club, great views of the golf course. Nice wine list, heavy on California, of course.

The food and service at The Grill was about what I expected. We sat on the outside patio and it was quiet and the scenery overlooking the golf course was great. Servicer was good and attentive and very polite. Made some good recommendations on wine and splitting salad plates which we took him up on. Food was really good, but nothing over the top. Had the lamb shank and it was tender and the meat fell off the bone. Salad was excellent too! Would recommend this restaurant if you are staying at the resort and don't want to drive to dinner. Not as much of a scene if that is what you are looking for. After a full day at the wineries we welcomed a slower pace!

The Grill @ Silvarado has a very simple menu, but very tasty. Everything from grilled swordfish to BBQ ribs! The best was their awesome Apple Crisp! We even went back the day after our dinner just to have the dessert again!! The patio is great for breakfast and lunch, with a view of their spectacular golf courses. Can't wait to go back!

Made reservations for Sunday- prime rib night at Silverado. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm. Seated soon after and told there was only 4 orders of prime rib left if we wished to reserve any of these- why would a restaurant run out of a featured entree so early in the evening? Service was gracious but slow. The staff was very friendly, the food rather average.

Went there for dinner on Friday. Place was about 25% full, lots of staff. Yet they just couldn't seem to serve our table. We both ordered the fish. Both came out cold - one wasn't cooked on one side. Impossible to find someone to take it back to kitchen. No one served our wine. Someone offered to bring us bread but it never came. Our waiter never could seem to find our table though we saw him running around the resturant very busy. Finally got our dinner, which ultimately was good. But the service ruined everything. Between the members who have to eat there and the captive resort guests they must feel they really don't need to provide much of an experience for diners. If you have a choice Napa has so much better to offer than the Grill.

We are locals and I decided to come here for a romantic dinner on Valentine's Day. I'm afraid we will not be returning. The good part is that they confirmed our reservation by calling us before the reservation. And our waiter, though quite young, did his best to be attentive on a very busy evening. The not so good parts: The food was mediocre and overpriced for what it was. I had the Pablo Pollo Loco which was actually seasoned very nicely! But between the two of us, that was the only worthwhile food item that graced the table. The wedge salad had nothing but blue-cheese crumbles (no dressing) on it. And dessert was just okay. I'm afraid we won't be returning to The Grill at Silverado. Stick with downtown Napa!

its a golf course grill .. great setting with a view out over the practice putting green and to fairways, but food and service are nothing special. January lunch special was decent value with a salad and sandwich for $14, basic menu is American comfort food (sandwiches and salads) which are decent, but no bargain .. the other Napa January lunch specials look more exciting

My daughter and I were staying at Silverado, and wanted a nice, good, but not formal dinner without having to leave the resort. It was just right - very good food (ribs, flatbread, fresh Dungeness crab Louis), good wine selection, and moderate to high prices. However, a friend dined with us the second night and she was not thrilled with the Kobe burger. The service was fantastic, and the waiters and hostess were all friendly, extremely competent, knowledgeable about the food, etc. A very good 'thumbs up' overall.

Beautiful view of the golf course, especially with the deer coming in the evening. The food and service was average, and the ambience that of a timeshare where most of the guests prefer to eat in their own rooms. The wine list was ok and the waiter helped us pick one of the better wines they had to offer. A quaint small place would have been a better choice for us.

The Grill @ The Silverado Resort & Spa is beautiful. It offers a huge deck overlooking the golf course and a large dining area. The menu is eclectic with a focus on "farm to table" dining. The menu is unfussed with a mix of comfort foods and eclectic menu items that focus the chef's creativity. I have had the chance to dine here a few times and the service is not at all stuffy, but relaxed. The service team are friendly and after one night at the restaurant they already remembered my name and my specific dining preferences. This is a great location for lunch or dinner but make sure you ask to be seated on the deck overlooking the golf course. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
