  • "My wife and I were looking for a convenient place to take my father-in-law to brunch. TGAHR filled the bill completely. Food and service were just fine. The splits of champaign were just the perfect touch for our family gathering. Hope we can try TGAHR for dinner sometime."

  • "We went there to celebrate our 43rd anniversary and were very impressed. We had heard of the Grill at Highland Row for a few years, but had never been there. It was an experience in great dining. I had the lamb shank that was the best prepared lamb that I have possibly had ... ever. The cocktails were comparable to cocktails at the steak houses in Chicago. Service and ambience were outstanding. It was meal worth repeating and we won't wait for another special occasion."

  • "I didn't go expecting anything in particular - I'd heard the restaurant is good, but nothing more than that. I got the grass-fed filet steak, and it really was fantastic. I honestly think it was the best I've ever had, and I've been to some good restaurants. My wife's grouper was also very good. Overall a great dinner and the staff was wonderful, too."

  • "The Grill at Highland Row in Knoxville was great. Excellent food, good wine selection, great service and really comfortable dining areas. Enjoyed a Saturday evening there with friends and will absolutely go back again."

  • "Food was good but is overpriced compared to other restaurants we go to."

  • "I'd say this was my favorite place to go in town, but I haven't been there enough times yet. Plus, I think they are best for adults. My young son (12) doesn't like many of their offerings, so my husband and i only get there on special nights out without the kid. Hubby loves the steaks and I am partial to the seafood and desserts. Most of their menu consists of "gourmet comfort food" so anyone who loves good Southern home cooking but wants things to be a bit fancier, this is perfect! The building is absolutely beautiful, the service excellent. Prices are a bit higher than most places in town, but you do get what you pay for. We have never left feeling dissatisfied."

  • "My very first time dining here, and it was a very good experience. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was great! Tried the Hot Chicken. It was really good. I know it's a first in Knoxville here, and I haven't yet tried the original in Nashville, but I was surely happy!"

  • "This was our first visit and won't be the last. Great for a special night out. Excellent food that is not overprices. Very open and bright but very quiet for conversation. All staff very attentive but not overdone."

  • "Excellent menu and vibe... I recommend the Hot Chicken. We will definitely be back!"

  • "We had mixed reviews for a table of 4. The filet my husband had was great. I ordered something a little out of the ordinary and was disappointed as was my friend who ordered the lobster bites. For two of the people at the table, it was a first time visit and I think they were a little disappointed overall but would try it again. I have eaten here several times and this the first time with a less than stellar meal."

  • "Highland Row was a great surprise. I was thrilled that they offered grass-fed beef there. It was delicious!!! It was not tough, but tender and juicy, with great flavor. The service was great. We will go back!!"

  • "This is an awesome restaurant for Knoxville. One of the few with a great chef, neat little restaurant, not overwhelming. The food is excellent. Cannot say enough good things about it."

  • "nice homey fireplace fragrance when you walk in the door with good food. It's a little loud due to the hardwood floors and wood & brick walls, so not for the hearing impaired, but we really enjoyed it!"

  • "Highlands Grill is always great. BUT, THIS WAS A VERY DISAPPOINTINNG TRIPP. The restaurant had no record of the confirmed reservation we made through Open Table. This is just inexcusable!!!!!! Why even use Open Table??????? They staff was wonderful in dealing with this problem which made our experience much better. Open Table needs to figure out what the issue was before I ever use that service again!"

HOT chicken was excellent(ask them to kick it up a bit,whew0 served with homemade pickles ,slaw, pickled okra and more. Crab dip app is a must. Go, eat, ENJOY. Dirty martini topped it of well w/ blue cheese olives :) Nice price point too!!!!"

  • "Have enjoyed this restaurant over the years. Was initially surprised that they now rotate their entrees and left off one of my favorites, the High Country Boil (their version of the low country boil) which I think of as one of their signature dishes. It turned out to be a very good thing because I had to try something different which was their version of shrimp and grits. This is a dish I have sampled an many restaurants including at least 6 in the Charleston SC area. I have to admit, I think their version is outstanding. A bit spicier than most versions but truly worth a try."

  • "This was a late Valentine's dinner date for my husband to take me and our (adult) daughter. We had a delicious meal, great service and very good wine (half priced bottles the night we were there)."

  • "This was probably our fourth of fifth trip to the Grill at Highland Row and even though it is always good I believe this was our best meal yet. Both the hot chicken and pork chop were perfectly prepared with great sides. Our waitress was amazing, prompt with service and very pleasant. We will be back soon."

  • "This has been our "go to" restaurant for my wife and I and for clients from out of town. Something has changed, it was not nearly as good as in the past. The steak was no better than "Texas Roadhouse" and the Caesar salad that my wife had was just drowning in dressing. The table also would rock every time a server or guest would pass almost to the point of spilling our drinks. Hate to say it, we will not be back for a while."

  • "This was a great location to host a small group of friends and family for a birthday dinner. The service was excellent with a server who was knowledgeable, personable and efficient. We had some unique needs and she was able to assist with everything from a birthday cake to gluten free options on the menu! The atmosphere is wonderful with the brick walls and memorabilia on the walls. While it may look like there is a shortage of parking is it readily available in the paring garage below the buildings. Overall, a great place to take friends and family."

  • "My mom and I stayed locally at a hotel while passing through on the way to Boston from Bayou La Batre. We were racing ahead of one of the first winter storms. The place was hoping and our reservation was delayed so we were comped desert. The staff was amazing and extremely nice. The fireplace was roaring and we were able to have a wonderful dinner, warm up and get ready for a long day of driving."

  • "We went to the Grill at Highland Row for brunch and enjoyed it very much. In addition to the regular brunch offerings, there were several unique and delicious choices such as a variation of eggs benedict but putting the eggs over a fried green tomato topped by a crab cake, then topped by the egg. They also offered momosas for $3 served in a large beverage glass over ice instead of a tiny champagne flute. This was a very nice brunch experience that I would recommend."

  • "Superbly prepared food, creative seasonal menu. Our group of five had a variety of entrees (grouper, trout, pork loin, crab cakes, hot chicken), and every plate was cleaned! I cannot recommend the hot chicken highly enough."

  • "My boyfriend and I came in to have brunch a few weeks back and we will definitely be returning. The brunch was very reasonably priced and the food was out of this world! I had the crab cakes Benedict and it was the best I've had anywhere. The Bloody Marys and Mimosas were cheap as well! A great find! This is a must brunch spot!"

  • "Disappointed that appetizer Brie was cold and no topping with honey as written on menu The asparagus was small cold and wrinkly The steaks were tasteless For a high end restaurant I must have come on an off day. For the price, I will spend my money at the other high end restaurants first. The actual restaurant has a nice ambiance but the food served was not worth the cost"

  • "The restaurant was nearly full when we arrived but the reservation had held a booth for us. It was a delightful experience with great food and service on my wife's birthday. It was our first visit and we will be back."

  • "The food was exceptional, the service was great, what more could you ask for? This was our first time at the Grill at Highland Row and definitely won't be our last. We wondered why it took so long for us to discover this restaurant. To start we had the brie appetizer and the french onion soup. Delicious. My husband had the shrimp and grits, I had the vegetable pot pie. Both again were delicious. I would recommend anyone to try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed."

  • "A girlfriend and I met there for dinner, and it was quiet, relaxing and great, quality food. The fried black eyed pea and okra salad was wonderful, and the blackberry cobbler was a refreshing light end to a great meal."

  • "Our party of 6 were welcomed by a warm, friendly, & vivacious hostess which set a nice tone for our dining experience. The bread was warm and made even more tasty with sweeteened butter plus yummy fritters. The ceasar salad was just average but the trout dinner was excellent along with the filet. Unfortunately, our server was not the most friendly, but a great time was had by all."
