The food was amazing - one of those restaurants where every bite is unique and wonderful. You have a difficult time choosing which is the best food on the table. Love the bar, too: interesting craft beer selection. Our friends were impressed, too, and they are foodies with NYC standards! Chef Sawyer is a genius with unique taste combinations. Our Mothers Day dinner started with an unexpected complimentary glass of champagne! We enjoyed the "best pasta I have ever tasted" ! What a unique combination with a fresh taste! I consider myself and our fellow diners I was with as "foodies". We sat downstairs in the kitchen at the counter. We had the four course tasting menu it was a great deal and fantastic. We started with the devils on horseback followed up with the beet soup and winter carrots my wife had the pasta and I had the 40 date aged steak. I normally don't eat desser, but we split the caramel popcorn Brulé. Our server Jody was attentive and friendly. The food was so good I was actually giggling with glee at many of the tastes. The kitchen also gave us a taste of the shrimp risotto which was unbelievable. Accent has two special ovens that bring foods to new levels of yum; they caramelize everything from mushrooms to marshmallows ( not to be missed). We have to fight ourselves not to order things we have ordered before because there is too much to experience. We were seated at a table upstairs overlooking 4th Street so we got to people watch and eat at the same time. Our server was very knowledgable and accommodating. We were on somewhat of a tight timeline because we were on our way to another event. We got in and out in enough time to enjoy a great meal and make it to our event on time. This is one of those places you want to come back to as often as you can because the menu changes and everything on it looks great. I wish we had more time on this visit to enjoy more. I can't wait to get back so I experience more of the menu. The place is quirky and fun, and the food and service were excellent. My husband had the foie gras steamed clams and the pan fried pork chop saltimbocca. He thought both were excellent. I tasted the pork and agreed. I had white asparagus salad with a cilantro-soy dressing and the spring pasta. I thought they were both excellent. Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and service was timely. I thought the confit chicken wings as a starter were amazing. I was also a little surprised when the roasted pig's head was the actual head of a pig on a platter! Regardless, the meal was well prepared, tasty, and plentiful. I would go back, but maybe wait a few months and see what changes they make to a limited menu. The last time I was not impressed. The 1,000 points was the reason we went back. Our waiter Adam P. was outstanding. He was knew his wines. The wine we picked was one we had tasted in Nappa. This was the best pork I have ever tasted, it was very tender, flavorful and just the right amount of salty. Next we had a savory double decker rice and bean burger with aged cheddar, scrumptious down to the bun. We finished with the buttered popcorn pot de creme with caramel and sea salt for the sweet treat, you need to try this and ask for crumbled bacon on top.
