The Greenfield RestaurantAnother great experience!My wife and I had the Greenfield restaurant cater our wedding and ever since we have gone to the restaurant for our anniversary. We have been seated in the dining room, in the wine cellar and this time we tried the outdoor area. It was beautiful and quiet even though there was a jazz band playing inside (you would have never known!). The food was fantastic, as usual. The only mishap was the waiter dropped my wife's salad tray while removing it from the table and the remaining salad flew all over our table and my wife. We had lamb, prime beef, and crab cakes and all were very happy with their meals. The wine list is presented either in traditional menu form, or, as we chose, on an electronic tablet, which was both fun and easy. The service was friendly and excellent. He was very friendly and knowledgable. Unfortunately he had about 6 tables with about 15 customers, and he was slammed. There was a lot of time that we spent waiting for him to get our drinks, bread desserts etc. the busses should have been taught how to help out more, not just filling waters and clearing tables. We were not in a hurry so it was alright but just too much time spent waiting. The food was great, hot and wonderful flavors. We definitely would go back. I especially loved the dessert selection--it was hard to pick just one!! The food is fresh and made to order. They have delicious fresh seafood and their crab cakes are the best I've ever had. My husband loves their Filet. Cooked perfectly. Love their French Onion Soup, Caesar Salad and their homemade desserts are worth indulging in. We dined downstairs in the wine cellar. If you get a chance to dine there...you should! There are only 2 tables. Very private... We loved it. But whether you sit there or in their bar area, main dining room or their loft...you will love this gem of a restaurant! I had been to the restaurant previously, so there were no suprises. Quaint colonial decor in the dining area, a bit more upscale in the bar. The bar has tables and on that Saturday night there was a pianist as well. I had the scallops (4 or 5) and my other had halibut over couscous which was also good. I could have used another 2 scallops for the price, but they really were great as were the sides of brussel sprouts and sweet potato 'broulet'. Yummy. Even when the room was full, it wasn't too loud, but it's not a big room. Private dining area upstairs and downstairs as well. It is definitely our favorite restaurant in that area. We ate in the wine cellar based on a review by an open table respondent and it was excellent. The ambiance there added a lot to our evening. Constance was very cordial, professional and accommodating; and, the food is always excellent. As usual, the scallops and mushroom risotto were fresh, exquisitely prepared and delicious. Joanne, the host, honored our request for a balcony table overlooking the bar area and made us feel like returning family. We were made to feel very welcome, not at all rushed, and the bar tender and our server Bradon were very helpful- answering every question, even taking our photo by the lovely Christmas tree! It's very convenient and as our family frequently travels that route to visit our aunt- we will be back! Enjoyed all of the them and was very full at the end of the meal. Would have loved to order a simple side salad, but all the salads are full sized portions.
