A word from The Greek at the Harbor
On the water's edge in beautiful Ventura Harbor, The Greek at the Harbor offers a "dining experience" rather than just a meal. Recently visited by Chef Gordon Ramsay, The Greek has transformed to stepping onto the Island of Santorini with all new decor and menu. Open daily for lunch and dinner. The Greek is a great location for family and business gatherings. Menu selections focus on fresh and local with daily specials. Saganaki flaming cheese is flamed tableside either inside or on waterfront patio tables. The Greek is also family friendly with a kid's menu. Weekend live Greek music, belly dancing, Greek Dancing!

The great food and atmosphere is only part of The Greek at the Harbor dining experience. Belly Dancers perform evenings and by arrangement as do the Greek Dancers.

The Greek specializes in parties from 20-50 and a variety of group menu selections are available. Inside seating capacity is 150 and patio capacity is 125. Full Bar

Diner Reviews
  • "Be there early around 5:45PM to 6:30PM if you go for dinner."

  • "the lady at the front told us "right this way." As we followed her to be seated, she walked right up to a group who had two tables pushed together and started yelling at them, she ripped the table from them hitting a lady sitting at it. Then looked over at us smiled and told us to sit down. It was embarrassing and awkward. My boyfriend and I apologized to the group that our table was taken from , especially cause we were seated right next to them. Our food took a very long time to come to the table and we had to ask several times for the check. It felt like we could have walked out without paying and nobody would have noticed"

  • "The only two things about this place that I didn't care for was the Gyro plate and their chairs. The Gyros were extremely dry and a bit crunchy, but they give you a nice size portions on all of there plates. the seating was a bit uncomfortable with the patio plastic chairs. However, if you do go you MUST order their Flaming Cheese. Great view of the Harbor and fun entertainment on the weekends with the belly dancer."

  • "It was my fault - I knew they had belly dancing but this seemed the best dining option that evening and I love Greek. To be fair, the service was good, the food was good enough (except for the fish was way over-cooked) but it is discomfiting to be dining with your wife and daughter while trying to evade the attentions of a partially clad belly dancer shaking her bells while you are trying to eat. I guess a lot of people go for that kind of thing but not me."

  • "Although the restaurant sits on the water in a beautiful setting, that is all this restaurant has going for it. The Greek salads are the worst I have ever eaten like a bagged salad from the supermarket with runny feta dressing and a couple of olives. The moussaka was a glop of eggplant and cheese and cold in the middle and totally inedible. The pasta with steak skewer was a huge bowl of pasta with a tiny skewer of tough steak thrown on top. Really pricey and the food is absolutely dreadful! They do have a nice Greek wine list so just order wine and look at the view. Avoid at all costs otherwise!"

  • "Honestly, not much to write home about. IT was decent Greek food (my friend who had been to Greece said that it was really close to what she remembered) and I enjoyed the entertainment. Service was REALLY slow but we weren't in a rush so didn't worry too much."

  • "Great food! Nice ambience, complete with a belly dancer inside (forgive me if they are not called belly dancers) We sat on the patio, at night, with heaters on, enjoyed the harbor view."

  • "Been to the Greek many times. Food took a long time to come out. Then at the end of the night, we asked for an 'uzo' drink, and i know the waitress heard us, because we spoke about it being very strong. Instead we just got the bill. We were not intoxicated we each just had one drink."

  • "As pescatarians, we have to pass on the meat dishes, but they look and smell really good! Good selection of fresh fish, and the "fish burger" is not ground fish but a nice slab of filet - this night it was cod. The vegetarian meze sampler platter makes a fine lunch for two - have it with a dry white or a light red. Serviceable wine list. The baklava cheesecake is a noteworthy dessert. Get a table on the deck for a view of the harbor and the passersby."

  • "Called ahead for reservations and they had our table ready right next to the dance floor, no waiting. Fast service. We had our wine right away. Ordered the halibut and it was FANTASTIC, the sauce was out of this world. My wife had chicken and it was tender and juicy. The waiter was on top of everything and was fast. The dancing was so much fun to watch! Top it off with some ouzo and a baklava which we shared. Will get our Greek on again soon."

  • "Aside from slow service this place is fun, especially with a large group or here for a celebration. On the weekend, there are belly dancers and the stuff performs as well."

  • "We recently went To Greece and LOVED the food. Thought we would try this restaurant but didn't get our hopes up. We were mistaken. We were a group of 6 and everyone had a delicious meal. I would absolutely go back! As the previous review..the meals take a while to come, but once there..well worth the wait. We missed the belly dancer..but plan on taking friends back."

  • "We were in a group of 9 and ordered the appetizer platter to start with. It is good for 2-3 people and we had to share the small portions in order for everyone to get a taste. Dinner plates were hearty and abundant and almost everyone had food to take home. They had belly dancing during our dinner which was a nice and something different than used to. Overall, we had a good experience during this visit."

  • "Good standard Greek food. Dependable and with good quality. This isn't comparable to the old Papadakis that was in San Pedro, but if you're looking for good authentic Greek food this is a good place to go to. Sit out on the patio and overlook Ventura Harbor and the fishing fleet, sit inside and have your ears blasted by the high volume music. They do have a nightly belly dance show and on occasion the famed wine glass dance. The do an excellent Branzino in the true Greek Island fashion. They also have a nice selection of Greek wines on the menu. Corkage fee is $10."

  • "Greek restaurant at the Ventura Harbor with a belly dancer for entertainment. The food was delicious and so was the Greek wine from Santorini. That said the service was terrible. It took us over half an hour to order our meal, and an additional 45 minutes for the meal to arrive. At least 3 tables of people left because they were waiting too long."
