The Grateful PalateEverything was greatMy wife and I went to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate our nineteenth wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in everyone from the young lady who sat us to our server to the chef to management made sure that our evening was special. My wife had a special of sesame coated grouper with a shrimp chile sauce and I had the osso bucco and both dishes were great. Our app of the conch sliders were also wonderful. Will definitely return and will recommend to whoever will listen.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad we kept trying to goWe have been wanting to try the Grateful Palate for a while and each time we thought about it, we were not able to get a reservation because we waited too long. Finally we got to go and it was a wonderful meal. We only ordered appetizers and desserts because we went with a group and wanted to share. Everyone really enjoyed everything we ordered -the taste, the presentation and the service. We all agreed to return for another meal.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMJust Great Food!!!I had read several reviews of this restaurant and decided to try it with some friends.
We all loved everything!! From the cocktails ( the server recommended a Strawberry Martini)to the desserts everything was scrumpschous!!! You must try the Truffle Shrimp Mac n Cheese!!! I had the scallops - they were superb.
I will be visiting this great establishment again soon.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting findThis is a small and expensive restaurant in a strip - not where I would expect to find a restaurant of this caliber. The menu is unusual and quite interesting. the food was excellent and we were ner the open kitchen. The ches appeared to know their stuff. Not the kind of place you would frequent on a reguar basis (too expensive) but definitely great for special occasions.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect!Lived in Ft. Lauderdale many years and never ate here, so finally went. What a gem. Had reservations, but hostess asked if we had a preference of where we wanted to sit, thought that was true customer service. She sat us at a romantic table near the "open-concept" kitchen.Drooled at every dish we watched being prepared. Our appetizers, salads & entrees were ALL AMAZING.Great wait staff.Loved the warm atmosphere. Will go back,SOON!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time, weThis was our first time, we will definitely return.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe friends we invited toThe friends we invited to join us had never been to The Grateful Palate. They were impressed and mentioned, more than once, they would like to return. The menu is diverse and a culinary experience not to be missed. Always wonderful when your friends enjoy the experience and everything delicious.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Pricey but adequate wine list.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit and took a guestFirst visit and took a guest hoping for the best, and was not disappointed. Cinnamon Duck breast was well flavored but should have ordered it medium rather than medium rare. Raves about the salmon and airline chicken from guests. (Learned "airline" means with one wing still attached.) Server Katie was very well acquainted with the menu and a delight to deal with. She even knew what split pea "nage" was. When there is someone to explain it, the menu really takes on new depths. Happily recommend and am looking forward to repeating. The food is somewhat pricey but you definitely feel that it was worth it. PS They also mix a great Manhatten.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to eat on a SaturdayWent to eat on a Saturday evening, reservations at 9:15; when we arrived a table wasn't immediately available but hostess was able to offer us an immediate seat in a high top. Restaurant was quite full when we arrived and due to this, the kitchen became very backed up. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees (bison sliders, duck and the filet special). The sliders took 40 minutes to come out and when they arrived, the inside was raw. Our server, Renee, was very nice and took care of everything for us; regardless of the wait, he was very hospitable and handled everything very professionally. Drinks were delicious. Entrees were quite good as well, the filet was mildly overcooked, but still edible. Ambiance is very nice.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWaited 25 minutes for tableWaited 25 minutes for table even with reservation at 8:30 at night. Conch slider appetizer was dry and couldn't taste the conch. Diver Sea Scallops on plantain and chorizo hash was amazing flavor and well balanced but for $30, each scallop should've been a descent size (two were small) and probably should've had one more on the plate (there were 4.) Lemon pound cake was good but very heavy not light like I'd expect pound cake to be. Guava ice cream with it was very good.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOur palates were grateful! We thoroughly enjoyed our Monday evening at The Grateful Palate, which we had seen reviewed on an area tv show. Nothing disappointed us! The wine and cocktail list were quite nice and the somewhat small menu was nicely enhanced by both a meat and a fish daily special. Our waiter (also the sommelier) was not only pleasant but well-trained and knowledgeable We will definitely return.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved this restaurant. We loved this restaurant. Our waiter, Michael, was great. The food was to die for. Can't wait to take my daughter and her fiance' there for dinner. Every course was unique.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time andThis was our first time and will definitely put this on the top of our list. The food & service was outstanding. We also found out that they have a happy hour in the entire restaurant until 7 PM. The crab ceviche appetizer was wonderful as was the butternut squash ravioli. I highly recommend this restaurant....3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOnly in Florida do you findOnly in Florida do you find a superlative restaurant in a strip mall. But don't be discouraged by the location. The food is excellent, the service warm, and the prices generally moderate. (Though moderate these days isn't what it used to be. Also, note that the GP's Happy Hour is present on Saturday as well as weekdays, and on Wednesday ladies imbibe wine free, though their male companions, alas, do not.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentExcellent service and consistently delicious food keep us coming back again and again. One of my favorite spots. Love The Grateful Palate!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe we're blown away by theWe we're blown away by the meals! First the chef sent complimentary apps before our actual apps which is always nice. Something not on the menu. The four entrees ordered were the scallops, the burger, the hanger steak and the salmon. The order I just listed them was our order of "winners". My scallops were the best I ever had with the chorizo and plantains. This place is a must but get there early.... It fills up fast! Thank you Grateful Palate for a top-notch meal. Excellent!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Pricey wine.Food and atmosphere are great, but the price of wine is very high. My 6oz glass of Chablis was $18.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck was to die for!!!!!!Duck was to die for!!!!!! Service was provided by Haley. She was awesome. My husband loved his burger.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good restaurant , neverVery good restaurant , never disappointed and great service3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place to dineThis is a place for everyone...meat and potato lovers to foodies.
