Diner Reviews
  • "We had our anniversary dinner here and it was wonderful. Service was excellent. Food was very good. The server offered other options to my spouse who can be picky. Striped bass was excellent, loved the avocado sauce. Enjoyed the piano player. Would definately dine here again!"

  • "My husband and I had a quiet dinner over looking Geneva Lake. Even though it was still winter, it was a beautiful view with the setting sun. The food and wine were excellent!"

  • "This place is on the East end of beautiful Lake Geneva, WI with a spectacular view of the East end of the Lake. A little on the pricey side but a great place to occasionally celebrate life. We will definitely be going back later this Spring."

  • "I checked my profile and found no point were afforded this reservation - why not? I probably wouldn't have chose This if no points were given"

  • "The food was very good and we will return on a non-event night. The service was slow, but were very polite."

  • "We booked the Grandview for Valentine s Dinner and it didn't disappoint. Though the view is much better during the day because of lovely Lake Geneva, looking out over the lake at the distant lights on the far shore was romantic. Good piano/singer. One minor gliche with one of the lobster tails, but they fixed everything just right and threw in a dessert. This has now become my go-to restaurant since Lake Geneva is only 25 minutes from home!"

  • "Lovely view but a little chilly by the windows. Excellent service. We enjoyed a quieter, less rush brunch to celebrate and were very pleased."

  • "What a great evening at the Grandview Restaurant on Lake Geneva. The evening was so romantic complete with a pianist playing one beautiful love song after another. The menu was perfect and my date and I relished fresh shrimp in a martini glass! Loved the service and cannot wait to return to this spot for another lovely dinner. Kudos to you Grandview!"

  • "My husband and two very young daughters dined in the early evening of Valentine's day. We think everything was good and the staff was friendly. It was nothing spectacular. That said, we would consider returning one summer evening to eat alfresco and enjoy the view. My daughters really love the live music. We wished we would have dined later so we could have enjoyed that for a longer time."

  • "We drove up for lunch from Crystal Lake, IL on a very cold day. Our lunch experience was delightful! This is the second time I have been up for lunch and found it enjoyable both times. The Bloody Mary was exceptional! The burger was delicious, perfectly cooked and with nicely done sweet potato fries."

  • "Went to dinner here with really high expectations as it came so highly rated. The appetizers (sausage trio) was really over cooked and dry. Shrimp cocktail was nice though. Wine was very good. Both entrees were a disaster, and to pay $46 for a dried out ribeye steak is a sin. Husband's main entree of veal was cold and just plain awful. The waitress was nice enough to ask if we wanted a complimentary dessert to take to our room. No thanks. Next morning complimentary breakfast buffet?....bust!!! The cheese was dried out around the edges and the plate was nearly empty. They still had an hour left to serve, no fresh ingredients to be found; gross!! Would not eat at this facility again. The rooms are nice, but the meals....no thanks."

  • "The waitress was attentive but not hovering. The salad with grilled shrimp was delicious and fresh. I'm looking forward to returning and trying more entrees. The view was outstanding even though the lake was snow covered. We enjoyed watching the deer crossing the lake."

  • "The Grandview is my favorite restaurant. It has ambience, wonderful staff and a menu that varies and features some traditional fares but also some interesting and healthy innovative offerings. The view is spectacular whether it's winter, spring, summer or fall and in addition to regular dining experiences they also offer some fun and educational wine and beer tasting dinners. Make sure to stop and enjoy this Lake Geneva treasure any time you are in the area."

  • "Our weekday lunch in the lovely dining room, with the spectacular view of Geneva Lake, was a delightful experience. The waitress, Jackie, was cheerful, efficient and extremely helpful answering questions regarding menu items. I enjoyed the tournedos entree, while my sister and husband took advantage of the 2 for $30. option. Each had the sliders with sweet potato fries and shared the crab/artichoke fondue appetizer. The Grandview is our favorite Lake Geneva restaurant and we will return. When the weather moderates, we look forward to enjoying lunch outside on the attractive patio overlooking the lake."

  • "Very nice restaurant. Food was very good and the service was excellent. We went for dinner in January so we couldn't see the lake due to the darkness but would definitely go back in the summer or for lunch."

  • "We chose Grandview because of it's beautiful lake view. Our request to be seated by a window was available & waiting for us. The wait person was initially slow in returning to take our drink order. However, the appetizer & main course was timely. All & all, we were very pleased with the atmosphere and quality of the wine and dinner. We would like to return for an annual Christmas Dinner ."

  • "I was travelling with my family and we decided to visit Grandview. The view from this restaurant is scenic, the waiter was outstanding, but the Xmas menu was disapointing. Very limited options and the selected options were flat. For instance, I ordered Sea Scallops with a risotto. Both were flat... For the price I wish I had a better dining experience."

  • "Everything was lovely from the singer who played just the right mix of Christmas and popular tunes on her baby grand piano, to the excellent service. Very kind, very attentive. The food was awesome, as it always is. We had a table at the window, so we could see the snow covered Geneva Lake. The atmosphere was very comfortable and Christmasey, but not too over the top. The only criticism I have is that the room needs some updating. Just even the window treatments and new fabric colors on the chairs and it would make such a difference. I love this place and want it to always be there! Thank you, Genenva Inn for a very special holiday meal!"

  • "Great view overlooking Geneva Lake. Best for Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch - great value for great food. Try the Eggs Bendedict or the Brioche French Toast for breakfast. The fish for lunch is fresh and well prepared."

  • "While spring and fall may offer a chance to dine as the sun sets, winter is a great time to come and enjoy the warm ambiance of soft lighting, piano playing music that never gets old and food that is made to perfection. I enjoyed our server who was timely and professional. It is great when you can dine somewhere when you don't feel like they are waiting to turn your table. We left completely relaxed and thoughts of a wonderful meal still lingering in our minds. The prices would not allow me to make this a common event but there is nothing wrong with a place that is a destination for a special meal such as an anniversary or birthday."

  • "This is our favorite place and we are never disappointed with the food and level of service. The singing and piano music was a perfect backdrop to the lovely décor and the view of the lake."

  • "we went here for dinner on a saturday night. the food was good but not outstanding. we had the duck confit flatbread and short rib entree. flatbread was too chewy and didn't have enough of the goat cheese. short rib was very fatty though the pasta noodles were good. our server was friendly, but had too many tables to handle. we had to wait a long time for our bill. there are better places for dinner in lake geneva. it might be better to come here for lunch or drinks earlier in the day when you can have a lovely view of the lake."

  • "Arrived early to view the sunset. It was beautiful. Sat at the bar for a short time. The staff was great especially the hostess. We were seated at a window, which was perfect. The food was very, very good. Wine was nice. Entire experience was wonderful."

  • "Food was just average -- disappointing. Service was just ok -- server was hard to find."

  • "The food was excellent. The service was not up to what we would have expected in such a restaurant. The server was friendly but not very attentive to our needs. There were several large groups which required that tables be pushed together to accommodate. As a result our table was left very near an adjoining table where we were left to overhear the conversations during our entire meal. I could have touched the person next to me. Our table could have been moved since other tables nearby were used for a large group and there was open space. Also the lights were very bright overhead which gave very little ambiance. Overall we will remember only the food which was excellent."

  • "This restaurant has it all! Food, service , atmosphere, and what a view. Want a place to go to make your day this is it,"

  • "Our table of three long-time friends enjoyed a lovely lunch. The room is very pretty with the main attraction being the unobstructed view of Lake Geneva. The salad with a just a little different kind of lemon vinagrette was generous and fresh. Two of us had the crab cakes surrounded by sauteed vegetables--lots of crab in each cake! Service was warm and even though we were at the very tail end of the lunch time, we were not rushed. Great lunch."
