"Had brunch from the pris fixe menu. Good food, well prepared. Beautiful setting. Quite pricey given you also need to have tickets to the opera to dine here. Very expensive and limited wine list. Service was decent but offering the pepper mill half way through the course not my idea of great service. Note that since so many people dine here apres opera they do have a challenge in serving everyone nearly simultaneously. That explains the service flaws, I suspect. Food was excellently prepared and presented. I loved the light touch of fresh taragon in the spring salad. Do it at least once if you want to splurge."

"The convenience remains a great draw, and comes closeto justifying the price. Nothing better than looking through the gauzy Met banners onto the Lincoln Center fountain. Souffle dessert not what it used to be."

"Our experience at the Grand Tier Restaurant was unforgettable. The service, the food (crab cakes are to die for!), the ambiance and the decor made it all perfect. The fact that we can go for the desert at the entracte is also really appreciated and different."

"This is the most convenient restaurant if you are attending the Met. When our waiter inquired as to the food and we told him it was too salty, he indicated that the saltiness was part of the chef's style of cooking. Aside from that, the service was good and the meal was enjoyable."

"We always have the smoked salmon and a salad, and it is excellent. But this time we tried some main courses, never again. The sole and the soft shell crab were good, but the vegetables served with them were overwhelmed with butter, it hardly mattered what the vegetables were; all we could taste was butter, not a bad taste, but too too much.

The service and atmosphere are lovely, and you don't have to worry about getting late to the opera, so it is relaxing."

"I had the veal schnitzel with spaetzle. It was the best spaetzle I have had in a very long time, which means equal to my mother's and grandmother's famed Wuerttemberger style."
