Diner Reviews
  • "We had a party of 5. All but one ordered some type of fish and it was pretty good but the one steak order was pretty bad.It was tough and had too much gristle. Very disappointing that a steak at this price was not good quality."

  • "Food was ok this past visit. Shrimp and lobster overcooked in ciopinno. Waitress friendly but removed plates after entree while we were still chewing. Forks were removed from appetizer plates and put directly on table that was only wiped down with dirty cloth. Have had better food in past visits"

  • "Delicious as always. Fresh seafood and they even print the menu again because it changes w what they have. Of course will come again and try something different."

  • "Our evening was made memorable by the fantastic service and humor from our waiter, Rob, and the well prepared and delicious appetizers, entree, and dessert. The wine selection was good, and the ambiance nice. Kudos to the kitchen staff! To top it off, we received wonderful follow up from the banquet and event coordinator, Lisa."

  • "A friend that recently relocated to Pensacola suggested this restaurant as a romantic place to eat. Very much so! The menu is so fresh that it changes daily. We had the lobster Mac n cheese which we could have eaten a bucket of, and my entree was seared pompano with caper brown butter. Beautiful food, beautiful view, beautiful restaurant."

  • "This was one of the best experiences we have ever had, We arrived early, about 5:40pm for our 6:15pm reservation, we were seated immediately and given the seats requested, with the view requested, water was very knowledgeable, and attentive, food was excellent, and the complimentary desert was outstanding, all parts of this meal was just right, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone, we will go back again."

  • "Service was great. Food was awesome. Definately coming back."

  • "Dinner was excellent, although I did return the prime rib as it was slightly over cooked from the medium rare I had ordered. Our waiter said it was the lighting from the window that made it look too done. Wasn't much pink when I cut into it. I think we "agreed to disagree", so sent it back. The second one appeared to be cooked as I ordered and was delicious. Maybe next time, I'll just order rare. The service was good and our guests raved about their meal and drinks. Of course we'll be back soon!"

  • "We had a reservation for 7:15 pm, but didn't get seated until 7:45 pm which was fine by us (but I can see where others may not be as understanding). I ordered the filet mignon medium and it came out medium rare - again which was fine - the steak was delicious. My lovely date had salmon which was good, as well. The skinny mojito and cabernet we ordered was very good. Our server was just attentive enough and was knowledgeable of the menu. Overall a nice night."

  • "Sat in the inside bar area, can't remember our servers name (Courtney maybe?) but she was awesome! Knew the menu well and was very on top of things. Great atmosphere and the food and drinks were really good. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in pensacola again for vacation."

  • "Most of our party of five ordered the Prime Rib. No complaints here. Tasty and a great value. We are returning customers and it is our favorite dining spot on the beach."

  • "I have eaten at The Grand Marlin many many times! I live in Pensacola Beach! Have always had a great experience, so took some friends who had never been. The waitress was rude, and had a very bad attitude. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine for dinner, and she asked if we minded using the glasses we got from the bar, as they were short on wine glasses! That was nothing, next to the way she treated us throughout the meal! Her name was Crystal! I intend to call the manager! Still love the food and atmosphere at the GM!"

  • "During the summer, this place is packed by tourists like all beach locations are. But during the off season, you find plenty of locals that drive in from Pensacola and Gulf Breeze to eat. I have always had a terrific meal with very good service."

  • "I've been here several times every time I visit Pensecola. Great spot right on the water. Seafood menu is always great with daily specials at a very reasonable price. I will always try to dine here when I'm in town"

  • "Very nice restaurant but plastic cups kept dripping and I believe they could come up with a better option. Even styrofoam would be better. Also waitstaff could be friendlier!"

  • "We had brunch at the Grand marlin and everything was great. Jimmy was our server and he was very personable and friendly. The manager was overly kind and asked how everything was going throughout our experience. We had oysters Bienville and tuna poke to start then for brunch the crab cake benedict and smoked salmon bagel. Yummm! The cold drinks and sound of the steel drums topped off the day and don't forget the great views."

  • "Food was great! The filet could be cut with a fork. The fried shirmp was scrumptious! Like Coconut Cake? You will love it at The Grand Marlin. Make this a dinner destination!"

  • "The Grand Marlin has restored my faith in them. The food was cooked to perfection and served warm. The service was above reproach and as always the view was very relaxing."

  • "My friends and I were told about this place and are so glad that we made it there during a recent beach trip! All the food and our drinks were just superb!! We will be going back each year when we visit Pensacola, it's at the top of our list!!"

  • "Great food! Definitely love how they print menu daily to guarantee freshness. We didn't have the most prompt server and had to wait forever for our check but I am willing to blame that on a bad server and not let it reflect my entire experience. The food was fantastic."

  • "We were on vacation in Pensacola Beach for our first anniversary. We wanted to go to dinner at a nice restaurant with delicious food and a fun atmosphere - we definitely picked the right place! Everything we had was DELICIOUS! The lobster fingers are a MUST. I could have eaten three plates of this! The drinks are also delicious, too - great wine menu! Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh seafood and a nice meal!"

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Parking was atrocious."

  • "Several friends and I went there for a "birthday celebration" lunch. We chose to sit in the outside dining area which overlooks the waterfront - Sound-side, not Gulf-side. The view was spectacular, a lovely breeze was blowing, keeping us cool and comfortable on a warm day, the service was professional, timely and sensitive to the "birthday girl!" Everyone enjoyed their food selections - for me the cold cucumber soup with dill was outstanding as was my swordfish sandwich which was accompanied by a zesty tartar sauce. We were surprised by a delicious complimentary birthday dessert for the birthday girl which was accompanied by spoons for all of us to share a bite or two. Lunch couldn't have been better. Kudos to the Grand Marlin!"

  • "We had a lovely evening eating outdoors overlooking the bay. Food was great and service was terrific."

  • "We have been to the Grand Marlin plenty of times and have never been disappointed in any way. The fresh fish is always a solid option to go with. Only gripe is could be a couple more vegetarian options but not a deal breaker since it is a seafood restaurant."

  • "We live in Pensacola Beach, and dine here regularly. Once again, we were not disappointed - the Grand Marlin has stayed on top since they opened."

  • "My husband and I ate here for his birthday and I loved it so much I recommended it to my parents who decided to try it the very next night. I normally am not a huge fan of seafood, but the meal I had was delicious. The server was very nice and knowledgable and the bartender know how to make a very good drink. The atmosphere here was great. We had a full view of the ocean and the dining room was not loud or over crowded. Overall it was a wonderful experience."

  • "The food here is amazing. But be prepared to leave your wallet a bit emptier. Prices vary as the menu is filled with only the freshest fish available, and their menu is printed daily. We got the grilled lobster and lobster mac and cheese which were both delicious. Dessert was coconut cake and mango sorbet which sealed the deal in the fantastic experience."
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "The only complaint is that the food portion sizes are incredibly small. The crab cake appetizer was just one crab cake, the dessert was one sliver of pie and the lobster fingers were just 3 small pieces. 75 dollars for food that could all fit easily on one plate. Only recommended because I asked for a special table and they delivered. Service and atmosphere is good."

  • "The whole experience was great. Awesome food and a beautiful view of the water along with live music. It was a very enjoyable and relaxing evening."

  • "We had brunch on Sunday, June 22, 2014. The crabcakes Benedict and the featured frittata were excellent. However, our server was not terribly attentive. This is the first time (we live in Pensacola and dine at TGM several times a year) we have had what I would consider less than good service at the Grand Marlin, and we certainly will return."

  • "We have eaten here many times and was never disappointed until this visit. We went for my husband's 50th birthday party since it was his favorite place. There were problems from start to finish this night. I don't know if the kitchen was backed up or some employees quit or what but there was not enough help. Our waitress didn't show up but 3 times the whole meal and we ended up being there almost 3 hours. Fish dishes were raw in the middle. Drinks weren't replenished but twice. Manager wasn't too concerned. He did comp us a dessert (whoopee) but it will be a while before we are back."

  • "Enjoyed our first visit to The GM. Had the oysters bienville and the prime rib special. Both surpassed our expectations. Prime rib was gorgeous--cooked exactly to order (medium rare). Will try the scallops next time. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu/food preparation. Definitely worth the drive over from Milton."

  • "This was only my third time dining at The Grand Marlin and it continues to exceed expectations. Every bite of food was delicious (particulary the fried lobster finger appetizer), the service was second-to-none, and the views are spectacular. I look forward to celebrating many more special occasions at this restaurant."
