The Grand Marlin Restaurant features a main dining area with a shucked to order oyster bar, exterior North Drop Bar overlooking the beautiful Santa Rosa Sound, and private meeting rooms. This Pensacola Beach restaurant, with an air of island casualness, serves the highest-quality cuisine, including the freshest local seafood featured on menus designed and printed daily to take advantage of the local bounty. The atmosphere creates a fusion of the Caribbean and the Pensacola Bay Area. Executive Chef Gregg McCarthy has a passion for great-tasting food and particularly loves working his culinary magic with fresh Gulf Coast seafood. Boaters and beach-goers feel comfortable in shorts and flip-flops at the oyster bar, in the dining room and at the North Drop Bar. The staff was appropriately friendly, the bartender made excellent martinis and the food was delicious and fresh. This made our short getaway to the beach very special. What a find."

Asked for and received an outside water front table, and everything was excellent from the service to the delicious food. The complimentary birthday dessert was worth the trip by itself. Meals and appetizers were both delicious and visually appealing. Dessert was stellar. The Grand Marlin is perhaps the best dining experience in the area and well priced with dinner for four plus wine coming in at $320 including a 20% gratuity. Fun and enjoyable!"

  • "After hearing of the Grand Marlin, I expected more elegance like Jackson's or the old Jubilee. The service was very good, but the interior ambiance was lacking. Even though we were seated in their most secluded corner, the noise level from large groups in an environment with hard surfaces was elevated and the restaurant wasn't even at full capacity. Online posts said the restaurant was business casual, which I would expect for the dinner hours. However, most of the patrons were in t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops. The food was good but not great. My filet mignon and steamed green beans were served on top of mashed potatoes; my crabcake was served on top of whole kernel corn, both making a soupy mess. The entres were tasty and fresh."

  • "I had the Grand Marlin recommended to me by some of the local residents. It appears that they have rebuilt after one of the many storms back in the early 2000s. The building is beautiful. The located it perfectly so that you do not need to leave the Santa Rosa Island area (no toll) and it sits right on a narrow slit of land at the base of the toll bridge. Maytag blue cheese chips, outstanding. Had the shrimp and grits (with a tomato topping) was kind of a cajun version. The sauce would be good on anything. Caesar salad is made there with a perfect caesar taste. Fantastic and attentive service."

We had the lobster Mac n cheese which we could have eaten a bucket of, and my entree was seared pompano with caper brown butter. Beautiful food, beautiful view, beautiful restaurant."

  • "As usual, we had a great time at the Grand Marlin with outstanding service and food. We took two close friends visiting from Scotland and they were very impressed with the Grand Marlin. We normally eat in the main dining room and this time we ate in a smaller area but still an inside area. Not sure of the name of the area but we would like to eat there everytime - smaller and the noise level quiet. Again, the Grand Marlin is a class act."

  • "Dinner was excellent, although I did return the prime rib as it was slightly over cooked from the medium rare I had ordered. Our waiter said it was the lighting from the window that made it look too done. Wasn't much pink when I cut into it. I think we "agreed to disagree", so sent it back. The second one appeared to be cooked as I ordered and was delicious. Maybe next time, I'll just order rare. The service was good and our guests raved about their meal and drinks. Of course we'll be back soon!"

  • "We had a reservation for 7:15 pm, but didn't get seated until 7:45 pm which was fine by us (but I can see where others may not be as understanding). I ordered the filet mignon medium and it came out medium rare - again which was fine - the steak was delicious. My lovely date had salmon which was good, as well. The skinny mojito and cabernet we ordered was very good. Our server was just attentive enough and was knowledgeable of the menu. Overall a nice night."

  • "I have eaten at The Grand Marlin many many times! I live in Pensacola Beach! Have always had a great experience, so took some friends who had never been. The waitress was rude, and had a very bad attitude. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine for dinner, and she asked if we minded using the glasses we got from the bar, as they were short on wine glasses! That was nothing, next to the way she treated us throughout the meal! Her name was Crystal! I intend to call the manager! Still love the food and atmosphere at the GM!"
