- They Never Recovered!CarlosVIPDined on 10/24/2014The older man sitting at the bar was more helpful than any of the servers. The bartender never put in our order. We sat down waiting for our appetizers to come and never did. Nearly 30 minutes later the table behind us not only received their appetizers but also were given a exceptional presentation of the menu items and dinner philosophy. When we asked about our food the server barely acknowledged is but did go to ask. When the bartender came to apologize he proceeded to do so to the table behind us who had received their food. Appetizers finally ordered wrong. They took it back and brought out another appetizer that was still not ours. Servers never came for refills as if we were some sort of stepchild I the room. Food was decent though.

As most of the reviews state Cue & brew is a bit pricey, but worth every penny in quality of the food. We did as the menu suggested and ordered 3 starters for the 4 of us. We also sampled the beer, my husband and I each found a beer to enjoy. We all ordered a different meal. My son had the beer noodle ramen, $15.00 for a bowl of ramen, yes it was well worth it as he completely enjoyed his birthday meal. I had the clod, it was very tender and the cornbread puffs were wonderful!. My husband had the bbq board. we have never had better brisket. My other son had the pork shank which he enjoyed. BUT I have to highly recommend the soft serve pretzel ice cream!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.

The only thing that appealed to my husband was the $53 ribeye. I stuck to the BBQ board which was a safe bet. His ribeye, cooked medium rare, had no flavor and had the texture of rubber. The side of potatoes was very good except there were only a few pieces. We are marking this spot off our list.Special Features:

I made a reservation for 10 or so, showed up right on time, and had to wait a full 45 minutes for the table. Waiter was very arrogant and this is a BBQ restaurant. The biggest problem was when he brought the other parties check he squeezed in between our groups putting his underarm and hips in one of our groups face while he was trying to eat. This wasn't just a reach in but was in that awkward position for 3 minutes while he discussed their check. He never apologized or even a simple excuse me. We've eaten at several of the other restaurants at the Pearl. Anyway, we were seated immediately at a cute table for two and our server Trey came quickly for drinks. We aren't beer drinkers, but there were several selections of good wine. The food was great -- we started with fried green tomatoes and then we tried the Barbeque board and the Beef Clod with quinoa -- great flavors. Delicious homemade pickles. And for dessert (I took it to go) was a delicious buttermilk chess pie. We can't wait to take our son in law who is a beer lover!Special Features:

This was fine, but it would have been nice to know before-hand that this was the seating arrangement in the restaurant. The wait staff were fine - very attentive. There was quite a energetic feel to the place - lots of 20-somethings. The beer was great. The food was not-so-hot. We got an appetizer which we had to send back it was so bad. We exchanged it for texas toast, which also had a funny flavor to it. Our entrees were VERY small portions. My chicken had perhaps enough meat for 3 bites. My vegetables were very under-done - hard to chew because they were barely cooked. My husband's bbq was very small - tiny amount of meat with lots of fat. Not a great restaurant.

So, I asked for a Porter Ale - one of the four beers of the day. They were out. So, I asked for the lamb entree. They didn't have it. Got the beef "clod" - nothing special. One of us had the pork chop (too dry) and the other had the brisket ramen, which was good, but the brisket was "over" smoked, and it hurt the overall flavor of the soup. Service was slow - but the server, hostesses, everyone was delightful. No complaint there - the people were wonderful. I think the kitchen couldn't handle the demand thus causing the back-up.

It's definitely not a candlelit kind of place but is still great for a date night or place for a group to eat. The lunch is a good deal and pretty much the same as dinner at a better price. The beer is fantastic (it is a brewery and restaurant) after all. They love to talk about their beer and food which is one of the reasons I keep going back. The atmosphere is great, they revamped an old house into the restaurant and the decor is awesome. First of all, the place is small-they make the most of the room, and there are always people there or waiting. 2nd- make a reservation. Some guests expected to get seated there right away and they were a rude to the hostesses who were doing their job. You may have to wait a little when you have your reservation,but the wait is very much worth it. While waiting , I went to the bar,got the Strawberry Ale- they brew their own beer, several kinds. Was very good. Will also recommend the homemade root beer-not your typical can root beer and it was exceptional. Appetizer- have to suggest the toast with BBQ butter- best thing ever. Whether it be the barbecued chicken of Brooks in Oneonta, NY, the Lexington-based bbq of Little Richards in Winston-Salem, NC, or Lexington and Eastern style of Prissy Polly's in Kernersville, NC, Angelo's bbq in Fort Worth, TX, Texas Pride's bbq in Adkins, TX, the Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX, or Rudy's in multiple locales, the Granary's bbq takes the cake! While it is a little pricy, it is well worth it. The ambience of its earthy location on the site of the refurbished old Pearl Brewery no doubt plays a part (albeit small) in the delivery of a terrific dining experience, but the bbq is the centerpiece. They do microbrew their own beers and a couple of sodas. The tea was awesome. Our service was excellent! As soon as our food was ready, it was brought to us...it might not have been by our server but it was always by someone knowledgeable. It is a great example of teamwork! Everyone was super friendly and the restaurant was very accommodating to us. The server answered each and every question and Jose's recommendations were spot on. We ordered the fried green tomatoes to start along with the Texas toast. The ranch ice cream that accompanies the tomatoes was unique and delicious. The special whipped butter served with the Texas toast was AMAZING. The brisket was some of the best I have sampled and the baked beans served with the sampler plate were just perfect. If you are looking for a BBQ house with Texas sized portions and buckets of sauce, this is not the place. I highly recommend ordering several items and sharing. Highly recommend it. The only negative is portion size. The menu says something about tasting sizes AND dishes for sharing. You can't do both. Portions for some dishes are sparing and almost stingy. Loved the Lamb two weeks ago BUT the plate only had two small slices on it. This week I loved the quail BUT was shocked at the four tiny quail drumsticks on my plate. They were elegant and delicious and had a delightful seat and flavor. The artichoke appetizer literally looked like 1/8 of an artichoke, same with the tofu dish and salad appetizer. The smaller portions force you to buy more food, which is already expensive. I shared the 16 oz steak and it was excellent (again, expensive but it was a ribeye so i expected that). I love that it's local food, that's the primary reason why I came, but for the portions size I won't come back for dinner. Great restaurant for a special occasion, but quantity could only improve.Special Features:
