  • "I wanted to take my fiance someplace special for his birthday and he had never been to The Good Fork and had been wanting to try it. for quite some time. We were welcomed immediately, our reservation was acknowledged, and we were seated right away by a big window. The menu choices were so hard to choose from - everything sounded wonderful! I had the special: stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in pastry and Steve had the Beef Bourguignon. They both had a beautiful presentation - we couldn't decide whose was best. The waitress was knowledgable, energetic, and gave great descriptions of the entrees. She was attentive and didn't keep us waiting long for anything."

  • "Previous food reviews leaned toward exceptional quality food - only one recent review reflected our experience - mediocre. Crab cake was more batter than crab. Duck confit was too salty and dry. Beet salad was best part of meal. Service was highlight since Andrea appeared to be quite attentive and pleasant. Parking on Sat was a problem behind restaurant and had to search nearby lots."

  • "Our 49th Anniversary. Could have been quieter, but all the noise was happy people communicating. I had Duck Confit, not exactly the same as when I had it in Sarlat, France (home of french duck cuisine) but equally good, or matbe better. All the food was "to die for", an excellent meal. Service was AMAZING - the waitress several time was seen to check our table, and din't keep jumping in with "everything OK? just when you take a bite - but I looked over my shoulder to see a painting my wife was talking about & the witress was there FAST! in case I needed something. I'm ove 70 and have rarely if ever had such good service. Compared to last year's anniversary at Odeon - no comparison, the Good Fork was "Great Fork !""

  • "The service was good and we enjoyed the ambiance. The crabcake appetizer was tasty (the sauces were especially yummy) but they didn't seem chef-made - more like they were prepared elsewhere and just reheated in the restaurant. We ordered the spinach salads and they were great. My husband had the filet of beef and I ordered Mary's Chicken. Hubby loved the beef filet, and I enjoyed the flavors of Mary's Chicken, though it was a bit dry to my taste. The mashed potatoes, veggies and sauces were delicious! We finished with the lemon cheesecake. I assume that it was made offsite as well, which is more forgivable for bakery items. It was divine, complimented with some wonderful sauces. With a couple of tweaks, our meal would have been perfect."

  • "Very nice ambiance, great service and friendly staff. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Morgan Hill, but also one of the most expensive. Food was only OK. My soup was lukewarm and a little thick. Ordered the filet medium "bright pink". It came semi warm, pale pink and very dry, not the way a filet should be. Veg and potatoes were ok, just a little boring. I like this place, but this time food was only average"

  • "From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was going to be a bit special. Service was very good. The menu had a number of interesting items that were prepared well. We had everything from salmon tartare and oysters on the half shell to scallops over risotto to a hamburger The eggplant parmigiana was deemed super by one person. Desserts didn't disappoint. Wine, cocktails and even coffee were all super. All in all, this was a very satisfying experience. One caveat: This goodness doesn't come without a price tag. Be prepared to shell out some $. Dinner for 4 with drinks, desserts, appetizers, main courses, etc. cost about $300. We were glad to celebrate, but it'll be a special occasion choice."

  • "I was reluctant to try The Good Fork, but my wife talked me into it. I had scanned the menu posted on the street and decided i twas "Califiornia" cuisine of which I am not paticulalrly fond of. We already like Maurizio's and knew that t this is Muarizio's second restuarant. I had the rib-eye, medium rare, and it was perfect. My wife tried the Mahi Mahi special. She was dubious about the tequila-lime sauce, not wanting something tart, so the server suggested a cream sauce substitution. We will definitely be back."

A great place for lunch with a good balance of atmosphere, food, and good service. We plan on going back in a few weeks to celebrate a birthday!"

  • "This was our second time here and it was even better than the first. We each had something different and all 4 meals were superb. I should have asked for the chef to let him or her know what a wonderful meal we had. Service is the best we've had bar none in a long time. They even heated up the cream for our coffee so it wouldn't make our coffee cold, now that is service!! Will will be back."

  • "I have been to The Good Fork before and really enjoyed the experience, this time was also quite enjoyable. We were seated almost immediately. It was quite busy for lunch a nice atmosphere and not too noisy. Our drink orders were taken immediately and this was the major downfall of our experience, My dining companion received the wrong drink, and on her, she did not complain, the server did spot the problem after 45 mins which was good however I had to remind her that I still had not received my beverage. It didn't ruin the experience but it was a slight issue. Our meals came out and the food was good, a solid good experience but not outstanding and I say this as I know The Good Fork can produce outstanding food. So overall Very Good!"

  • "Here is my gripe. I made a reservation almost 2 weeks in advance and asked for a window seat for me and my 2 girlfriends. We got the table right next to the entry door where it gets cool from the door opening and then customers linger. I didn't like it. I also asked about a table in the corner and was told it was reserved. Since I was sitting by the door and hostess table I could hear everything. 10 minutes after I arrived someone with a "well known" group came in and said "sorry we didn't make a reservation"...they were seated in that table...not right. We had to request our waitress several times for her to serve us. The food was unbelievably wonderful so go for the food."

  • "Great datenight. We were seated as soon as we walked through the door. Drinks came fast with bread and an appetizer moments later. The calamari was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. The red belllepper sauce was just ok, I prefer spicy aioli or marinara. Scallop risotto was good but the Chilean seabass was the star of the night. Crisp on the outside buttery and cooked just enough on the inside, over a bed of risotto with great veggies. First time at the Good Fork and will sure be back again. The price was higher then the review on Open Table, but the food was worth it. It wasn't to busy and the service was great."

  • "Reservation was at 12:45, we arrived a bit early and they were very busy. The place is small but cozy. The menu looked awesome, I wanted everything on the menu. We ended up both having the Salmon with the fresh vegetables and the salmon was crispy on the outside and very moist on the inside, just perfect. We shared a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and we each had hot tea. Couldn't have been better. I will have to return with my husband and with friends to try the other wonderful items on the menu. The wait staff was very efficient. They were very busy and with a small crew, but they seemed to handle the busy crowd quite well, they know their menu, the wines and the food came quickly."

  • "Amazing. The Duck appetizer exceeded my expectations and was delicious. Hubby had steak and lobster special and I had the Filet. Both were fantastic! Then came desert. Creme broule with a hint of lemon and the bread pudding. Let's just say the bread pudding was the best I've ever had. I'll definitely visit again for another date night :)"

  • "I had been wanting to go to The Good Fork for quite a while, but just didn't seem to have the opportunity or time. However, my best friend and I recently had the chance to plan a double date and we decided to go. Her husband went to culinary school and, as a couple, they tend to have very distinguished and refined taste, so it was nice to be able to go such a nice restaurant with them. We all had a very enjoyable time. We loved the food...the service was great - attentive, but not overly so...and the ambiance was relaxing. It was a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. A definite local must for grown-up special occasions!"

  • "This is the best restaurant in Morgan Hill, we will definitely be regulars. We started with the calimari, it was excellent. Very lightly battered, tender and flavorful, very nicely complimented by the red pepper pure and arugula. The spinach salad was fresh and delicious, enought for two people. We both had steak which was very tender. I can't remember what the dessert was called, it was the cream puff pyramid -- oh, so good :)"

  • "The bar is beautiful at the Good Fork and has nice seating for Happy Hour. The appetizers are really good plus something different. The prices at Happy Hour are very resonable. I'd say the portions are small at lunch but tasty. Fun place for meeting friends for a chat. Our waiter was fantastic, pleasant and attentive to our requests."

  • "The prime rib was excellent, but the vegetables were undercooked and the oysters, were disappointing. I walk with a cane and when we came in, we were informed a table was being set up for us. I was kept standing for at least ten minutes before we were seated. The staff seemed to oblivious to the fact that I was standing with a cane. The server was patronizing and it was obvious she had a formulized speech for everyone. Her tone was condescending and there was something very inpersonal about her approach. We felt we were being talked down to and that she didn't really care about us, but that she was reciting her lines for the night. We will not be back as there are too many other good restaurants to try."
