  • "The Golden Lamb is an historic gem in downtown Lebanon, Ohio. The menu, the ambience, the service, and the food were all outstanding!"

  • "I took out-of-town guests who had never been to the Golden Lamb. They loved the restaurant itself and the food. I had the lamb shank, which was excellent. I think the new menu is great! For a special event (lunch or dinner) the Golden Lamb can't be beat."

  • "My wife and I dined here for our fifth anniversary. Upon arriving for our reservation we were seated fairly quick. I had requested a fairly private and quiet area. They made an attempt at this by giving us a table by the front window seated away from everyone else. Unfortunately it was in the same room with a big dinner party of approximately 20 people. The large party was very loud. I ordered the prime rib and my wife ordered the filet mignon. My wife's filet was excellent but my prime rib was mediocre at best. I ordered the prime rib cooked medium and when it arrived I found it over cooked and kind of chewy. It was honestly the worst prime rib I have ever had. As to not ruin our dinner I did not return it. The server was excellent."

  • "I reserved a table for my wife and my anniversary. The food was absolutely wonderful. The server was very polite and did her job perfectly. My wife wants to go here for every anniversary now. I can't say I blame her. Very impressed!"

  • "We met our adult children to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The restaurant is interesting to visit because of its long history. Food and service were very good. The location is specially good for our family whose members reside in both the Cincinnaiti and Dayton areas."

  • "We enjoy taking people to Golden Lamb, especially if they are from out of town. They always love the Historic setting. From the cheese tray, to the homey staple of turkey and dressing they are always good. For myself I really appreciate the chef helping select entres that are Gluten Free. I have never had a reaction from their recommended items. This means the entire family can enjoy their dining experience."

  • "We were attending a women's conference in nearby Waynesville; we had eaten at the GL several times before but heard there was a new menu and wanted to introduce our friends to Lebanon and the GL. It was truly a wonderful evening, Tiffany was our server and she was excellent. Everything was hot on arrival, pleasing to look at and delicious!"

  • "We are big fans of The Golden Lamb for dinner, but now we have added it to our list of favorite breakfast places as well. I had the omelette which was excellent. It was served with delicious, fresh fried potatoes and a big, yummy biscuit with a variety of jams and jellies and apple butter. My husband had the vanilla bean pancakes which were huge and fantastic. He also had a side of the sage sausage patties-exceptional. The service was phenominal- our coffee cups were always full. This was a wonderful way to start the day. Not only the food, but the history of the inn and restaurant makes this an all around delightful experience."

  • "I've been enjoying dinners at the Golden Lamb since I was a little girl. It's great to see old favorites alongside creative new menu items. The six of us all raved about our meals and appreciated the special touches the Golden Lamb's staff added to make our double birthday celebration very special. It's well worth the drive from Columbus to experience this special restaurant and the charm of Lebanon."

  • "Have eaten here numerous times in the past 20 years. It's a destination eatery for visiting friends and family from the east coast. The staff is always welcoming and accommodating. Great menu! The newest owners/hospitality group are doing an excellent job! It's almost an hour drive for us, but so worth the effort."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. I wanted to do something memorable and unexpected. For many years she talked about how ladies from her quilt group enjoyed the The Golden Lamb Restaurant and Inn. Where better to surprise her for a wonderful evening and delicious meal......just perfect !"

  • "We have loved this place for so many years. The food is truly better than in recent years. The classics have been nicely updated and presentation is excellent. Our server was witty and fun. We love the Lamb."

  • "Pricey, but we find ourselves returning for the food and ambiance. I especially like the apple butter that's served with the rolls, the salad dressing, and the vegetarian pasta. Leave yourself time to tour the hotel rooms upstairs and read about the famous people in history who have visited the Golden Lamb. The surrounding historic area with cute shops makes for a nice stroll before or after your meal."

  • "Quiet Sunday Evening dinner with friends, not very crowded but the food was excellent. From the scallops, to seared salmon, to filet it was delicious, there were no doggie bags needed this night. It is nice to eat at a restaurant where the food tastes like something and is presented as more than just food on a plate."

  • "I have always been very satisfied with my meal at The Golden Lamb. I believe I have been there 7 times now. On occasion I get a server that isn't the best, but the food makes up for it. This visit was perfect. The multi-grain waffles were delicious. I have been to brunch at other restaurants that have nice food but then bring out a plastic cup of Smuckers (corn) syrup. Not at Golden Lamb. Real Ohio Maple Syrup. My mother got the vanilla bean pancakes (again) and they were great as expected. The server was very friends and prompt but not overbearing. The atmosphere at the golden lamb takes you back to when the Inn was founded. If you are looking for a real meal and 19th century atmosphere go to The Golden Lamb."

  • "Appetizer was so skimpy. My husband asked "what is that?" and I said " $9". He ordered a beer the man that delivered it put the glass and bottle on the table with attitude. Never poured the beer into the glass- never said a word. He liked his fried chicken. My filet was just okay.I was surprised when they brought a free candle lit piece of cake to the table for our anniversary. It was a nice touch but the cake tasted awful."

  • "Had not dined at the Golden lamb for some time. Was surprised at the good quality of food and preparedness. Setting and ambiance is very nice and comfortable as it has always been. Only need is more experienced servers. Was seated right on time for our reservation, but waited nearly 15 minutes to be asked for a drink order. Server either needs a bus aide or smaller stations. Overall - Good experience and will try again."

  • "A lot of diners at our table didn't like the service. It seems we had to wait awhile for taking orders and getting orders. Maybe you didn't have enough staff. Our group comes every year for the quilt show and have always been satisfied."

  • "It was my mother's 89th birthday. Several of us were coming from different cities to honor her day. The Golden Lamb was perfect. It did not disappoint. We had a variety of options for her birthday lunch. The service was impeccable, even though her birthday is Valentine's Day. Mother felt honored. We felt blessed. Thank you for the wonderful experience."

  • "I wanted a fun afternoon adventure for a friend who is new to OH and myself. We had a lovely lunch! The staff could have checked on us once more, a refil would have been nice before the check. The food was delicious and good moderate portions. Fun presentation and delicious! I will be back and my girlfriend was already planning her next visit."

  • "The Golden Lamb is my wife's favorite restaurant. Where else could we go for her birthday? However, they never fail to delight your taste buds. A wonderful dinner with great service and using the Open Table app on my phone makes everything simple and easy."

  • "I usually go in December around Christmas to celebrate my wife and my birthday. This time we brought friends from Memphis, TN to share our experience. They loved the history of the restaurant & hotel. The food was perfect and our server was first class. Thanks to everyone at the Golden Lamb!"

  • "Our server was excellent! He was very knowledgeable with the menu and his recommendations were excellent from the house dressing to the entreee's. (We purchased the dressing to take home) When we mentioned that we never heard back on our request for my mom's 76 B-day, he came back and said it was on our reservation, but they do not respond back on Open Table. We received the most adorable lamb cake. The whole experience along with shopping in downtown Lebannon was great. Our mother said it was one of the best birthdays ever and she has had alot of them and hopefully many more at your great Inn. Thank you for making our mothers birthday extra special and to the wonderful service you provide!"

  • "The food still isn't as good as it was 20 years ago, but it is MUCH better than one year ago. Had the fried chicken which was good. Tasted the lamb meatloaf and really liked it. Very big portions."

  • "Tried the Golden Lamb for the first time on Valentine's day and could not have been more pleased. Arrived early for a drink in the Black Horse tavern and had great service and nice live music tha started early enough to enjoy before our dinner (8:00 PM). THe overall atmosphere of the hotel, bar, restaurant was excellent. The Valentine's Day special menu was excellent. We tried both of the offered appetizers, salad and soup, and different entrees. Portions were good but may not please anyone looking for a belly-buster size meal. Everthing that both of us had was excellent - seriously, not one thing that we could have thought to improve. Highly recommended and a restaurant we look forward to enjoying again."

  • "I decided to propose to my wife at the Golden Lamb 32 years ago because I knew it would be there in the future to commemorate the event. We took the opportunity to celebrate the event on Saturday with four of our five children. The restaurant never looked better. The food was delicious, the restaurant historian was charming, and the inn itself is an historical gem which we enjoyed on a self-guided tour. We would unreservedly recommend staying and dining at the Golden Lamb to any of our friends and families. Thanks for being a part of our family heritage."

  • "We didn't know what to expect but the Golden Lamb was a pleasant surprise. The traditional Gold Lamb "relish tray" was not something we would have ordered, though was provided free of charge Valentines Day. It was a wonderful mix of flavors like "pickled watermelon rind" - doesn't sound particularly great, but was. I had the scallops with garlic pesto mashed potatoes, and my wife had the filet steak. Both were very good and exceeded our expectations, though my food had cooled more than I prefer by the time it arrived at the table. The 2010 William Hill Chardonnay was underwhelming, but that's on us. Overall a very nice experience at a lovely historic old inn (be sure to enter through the front) and we will visit again."

  • "My wife and I braved a snow storm to make it to The Golden Lamb for our Valentine's reservation. The atmosphere was quiet and intimate. The view outside the window as the snow fell was quaint and picturesque. We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. They were jumbo and did not disappoint. The salads were very good. The only hitch came when my wife's scallops had to be sent back because they were cold. I enjoyed the lamb shank. It was cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. Overall it was a very enjoyable dinner and we will return."

  • "Excellent, friendly service. Hot fresh rolls with apple butter & the signature salad were outstanding. Prime rib was cooked perfectly, very lean & paired with delicious sides. Other members of our party said the fried chicken was juicy & tasted great and that the scallops had great flavor. Our table was located in the dining room on the first floor. The atmosphere was warm & inviting, soft lighting, very comfortable. Definitely recommend!"

  • "This is a very neat place to dine especially if you like historical places. The food was excellent and the service was good but my only complaint Is that the server was slow to greet us and he didnt know the menu very well. Loved the whole feel of the place and the historian on site. Also loved getting to tour the hotel. Top floor is very spooky. Loved it"

  • "The historic ambiance of the Golden Lamb is what we like most about the restaurant. We had a lovely dinner with a table right at the window, so we had a great view of downtown Lebanon which is very quaint. The food and the service were both great as well. We had the beef tenderloin, which was cooked just right, and finished off with the bread pudding which was absolutely delicious. All in all, it was a great dining experience!"

  • "Best food in the area in one of the neatest settings. Feels like you're stepping into the 1800s... Until you take a bite of the top of the line food. Great experience overall."

  • "The Golden Lamb has an menu filled with delicious dinning options as well as a nice listing of wines which pair well with the entrées. Each item served was full of flavor, properly cooked, and well presented and the service was fantastic. If you are in the area, you must stop and dine at this historic restaurant!"

  • "We had lunch on a Saturday. The food, drinks and service was great. My husband went on and on about how much he wants to go back. We sat at a window and looking out onto the street with the little shops and such made us feel like we were on a weekend getaway. We spent quite a bit of time exploring the restaurant and hotel. And, we found some special items from the gift shop to take home. Very nice day!"
