The Golden LambPerfect! My server was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and she respected my wishes not to be rushed through dinner. I enjoyed a cocktail before I ordered and when I did, the food came at a perfect pace. The three-course meal for $29 is an incredible bargain considering the quality of the food. The green tomato and shrimp ceviche was delicious and the coating on the tomatoes was nicely crunchy to contrast with the shrimp. I also had the smoked salmon on a bed of lentils. The salmon was delicious and perfectly done; my only complaint was that the lentils were almost overcooked, but still tasted great. I like the fact that they offer local wines and beers and ales with dinner; I tried a local Cabernet Franc and it was really quite nice.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner place! The golden lamb is a beautifully restored historic inn with great quality food and drink. The prices are reasonable and the service is very good. We loved it.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!Loved The Golden Lamb. Prime Rib was excellent. Bread pudding was to die for. I will definitely come back when in the area again.
Service was excellent as well as the ambience.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphereWe have been coming to the Golden Lamb for years and have seen a lot of changes, some good and some not so good, but the service and food is still very good. We have even spent the night and loved the atmosphere. We come about 4 to 6 times a year. We are always happy with the service6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAttentive service and wonderfulAttentive service and wonderful food. The prime rib entrée was cooked superbly to our request. The salad and sides were full of fresh flavor. The banana bread pudding and raspberry sorbet desserts rounded out a succulent meal. Our waitress was prompt for refills, cordial, and responsive in a heart-warming way to our conversation with her. A 5-star experience overall.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary celebrationMy wife and I were very pleased with service, atmosphere and delicious food! Spring roll appetizers were excellent. We both enjoyed our main entrees-very hard to decide which to try as there was an excellent selection of choices. We will definitely be back!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA new go-to spotWe loved our visit to the Golden Lamb. Reservations were easy to make and the staff was friendly. We had a baby who needed a high chair in our party and they accommodated us without hesitation and made our little one feel welcome. The food was excellent. My brother said the black and bleu sirloin was probably the best steak he'd ever had. We can't wait to go back and will make this a go-to option for future family parties as we noticed several large groups being well taken care of during our visit.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place for food and serviceThe Golden Lamb is a very good restaurant that offers a wonderful opportunity for friends and family to get together over very good food. The service is very good. The menu provides many items for most tastes.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryThis was our first visit. We went to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The history was really neat to read and experience. The food was wonderful! However I don't know that I would go back a second time. Kinda been there done it of a thing for me.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought that feees wereI thought that feees were a little pricey- will not visit that often.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Resaurant!Since having our Wedding night at the Golden Lamb 22 years ago, we have been coming back for dinner every Anniversary. We love it! The food is great and the Inn is wonderful!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial OccasionWe chose Golden Lamb to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. It was a wonderful experience. The only thing we would change for our next visit, is to be seated near a window.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMCharmedAll aspects were first class. The history was awesome. We always show this off to our out of town visitors.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGolden lamb of historyBeing born and raised on the West Coast, we thoroughly enjoyed eating at a historic restaurant that not only had very good food, but was full of history. The service was great and I was glad we had made reservations and arrived at the appointed time, because we were seated right away and did not have to wait like several other parties. Thanks for a lovely time. I even enjoyed the gift shop where I purchased a beautiful gift.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting food in a cozy town.Food was quite good and a bargain especially during Restaurant Week when my wife and I took the short trip up here from Cincinnati during a week night evening. The food quality was actually between 4 and 5 with several unique items including the pickled water melon rind and their panna cottta which is served as a course between appetizers and entree. The pot roast was very satisfying comfort food. The service was very friendly and efficient. We would be regulars here if it were closer to us.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day LunchWe visited Th Golden Lamb for Mother's Day and had an outstanding experience. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and not over-bearing. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, or who wants a meal that is "a cut above". Thank you for making our Mother's Day special.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and historyI have had the opportunity to dine at the GL on a number of occasions over the years, and it has never disappointed. I very much enjoyed their prime rib on this past occasion but their fired chicken is great as well. For the local area there are not too many places where one find a spot where a number of well-known historical figures visited that were documented. It provides fascinating insight into the significance of Lebanon as a national crossroads at an earlier era.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's DayGreat food and incredible ambiance. However, when I looked at their web site, I thought a full menu was available, but fixed price three course meal was the only dinner option for us on Mother's Day.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for a quiet mealWe went here for a mother's day dinner on Saturday before Mother's Day. It was a great place with some great food. Some people were really dressed up in the restaurant while others were dressed casual. It is a nicer place, so jeans with holes are inappropriate. Reservations are highly recommended because I'm not sure there were any open tables, without reservations. I got the prime rib and it was so good, tender and huge. The appetizer trays were very good as well and were full of things that you can't find anywhere else.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful as always! The Golden Lamb is a special destination that is always consistently wonderful. The atmosphere at this historic property is charming, and the food is always delicious. Had a wonderful day-early celebration of Mother's Day on Saturday night.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, better than ever.Love the historic surroundings, wonderful food. It has been a family tradition to dine there for all special occasions. Love it!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Golden Lamb Rocked It AgainFrankly, I think the Golden Lamb just gets better and better. The tomato basil soup was a great warm-up for a cold Saturday, my Mom loves the lamb meatloaf, my wife adores the brunch dishes, and I think the fried chicken is the best you can find. And the desserts get more amazing every time we go. The new Maker's Mark Bourbon Bread Pudding is delicious, but it could use a little more bourbon flavor. They don't miss a beat!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great service!Great food and great service! Love the history and ambience!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorableThe Golden Lamb was a wonderful experience for our family. Not only was the food superb, but the service was friendly. Our waitress and waiter told us stories about the history of the Golden Lamb and enchanted our daughters who were there to celebrate their birthday. We will definitely go back!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food and Fun StoriesIf you like history and want to see a true gem then visit the Golden Lamb. This is a really cool hotel and restaurant that has a fantastic history behind it. It was well worth the climb to the 4th floor to see all of the rooms and learn more about Lebanon and this region. The food was very good and the service was very nice.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable place to dine, very goodFood and service was really good and we enjoyed the historian that visited our table. Being welcomed to explore the rest of the dining rooms and hotel added to the ambiance of our evening. The tavern was very warm and inviting, especially with the live music but for a Sat. night was very empty so we didn't stay.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had and enjoyable lunchWe had and enjoyable lunch in a setting that we like as it hasn't changed through the years and something we looked forward to because of the nostalgia and ambiance that we remember from past experiences at the Golden Lamb. The food, service and ambiance are outstanding. We all had the best meals we've had in some time. We highly recommend the Golden Lamb!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent atmosphere and foodI had filet mignon and my husband had salmon. Both were excellent. I thought the service was a bit slow even though it was not crowded. The waitress never checked on our water which I would have liked to have had refilled. The atmosphere with the antiques was special. We went to the bar (Black Horse Tavern) after dinner. The music by a guitar player was very soothing. I definitely would recommend both the restaurant and bar for special dinner dates.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time. Food was greatGreat time. Food was great & service outstanding. Table side historian stops by & tells the many historical stories of past guests of this old tavern & hotel. Everything was ready for us. There were baby chicks and ducks for the children to see and the Easter Bunny visited them. The food was served in great time and was very good with a nice variety on the brunch menu. I would recommend the Golden Lamb to anyone that just wants a special experience with family or friends.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster surprise! Both food & service were outstanding ..... on a very busy holiday! Trout was excellent ... my compliments to the chef! Service was efficient and professional.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Golden Lamb is our favoriteThe Golden Lamb is our favorite special occasion restaurant. It made our Easter memorable this year.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMNeeds Valet Parking on HolidaysI have been in the habit of taking my 97-year-old mother there for special occasions. She has a cumbersome walker but the Lamb staff is good about opening the special handicap door for us so she doesn't have to go up the steps into the lobby. Usually on holidays they have valet parking (I am a good tipper for that service)... which is such a help when there is just one of me. They did not have valet parking at Easter so I had to leave my mom unattended and park the car two blocks away... and reverse the process picking up the car. She gets scared when she is left alone, so I will not be taking her there anymore for our holidays dinners. It's too bad -- it's one of the few restaurants where she remembers going with my dad...3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the Golden Lamb, it'sLove the Golden Lamb, it's a family tradition for us to spend many holiday dinners there. The food is very good, in fact, better than ever. Would highly recommend.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I enjoy diningMy husband and I enjoy dining at the Golden Lamb. Interesting history in the hotel, even though we didn't see any ghosts...maybe next time.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu is a bit limited, especiallyMenu is a bit limited, especially for a vegetarian.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMJim and Lynn BirdMy wife and I have been regular patrons of the Golden Lamb....and we have commented to the staff that recently the food is much better than we remembered from past visits. We learned that the Golden Lamb has a new Chef....and I must say, the quality is considerably better than in the past. Highly recommend the "new" Golden Lamb3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was amazing. SheOur server was amazing. She made our dining experience very special. She went out of her way again and again to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience. Food was very tasty.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I have an appreciationMy wife and I have an appreciation for history and this restaurant is very cool. This was our first visit after hearing about this place growing up near the area. It was a private and quiet setting, most likely because it was a Tuesday. The food was great and timely. It was our anniversary and I only mentioned it when booking on Open Table, not once during our evening, and they brought us a free dessert. Very classy, just like the establishment.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe quality of the food andThe quality of the food and service was very good.
