I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, or who wants a meal that is "a cut above". I very much enjoyed their prime rib on this past occasion but their fired chicken is great as well. For the local area there are not too many places where one find a spot where a number of well-known historical figures visited that were documented. It provides fascinating insight into the significance of Lebanon as a national crossroads at an earlier era.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for a quiet mealWe went here for a mother's day dinner on Saturday before Mother's Day. It was a great place with some great food. Some people were really dressed up in the restaurant while others were dressed casual. It is a nicer place, so jeans with holes are inappropriate. Reservations are highly recommended because I'm not sure there were any open tables, without reservations. I got the prime rib and it was so good, tender and huge. The tomato basil soup was a great warm-up for a cold Saturday, my Mom loves the lamb meatloaf, my wife adores the brunch dishes, and I think the fried chicken is the best you can find. And the desserts get more amazing every time we go. The new Maker's Mark Bourbon Bread Pudding is delicious, but it could use a little more bourbon flavor. Our waitress and waiter told us stories about the history of the Golden Lamb and enchanted our daughters who were there to celebrate their birthday. This is a really cool hotel and restaurant that has a fantastic history behind it. Being welcomed to explore the rest of the dining rooms and hotel added to the ambiance of our evening. I thought the service was a bit slow even though it was not crowded. The waitress never checked on our water which I would have liked to have had refilled. The atmosphere with the antiques was special. We went to the bar (Black Horse Tavern) after dinner. The music by a guitar player was very soothing. Everything was ready for us. There were baby chicks and ducks for the children to see and the Easter Bunny visited them. The food was served in great time and was very good with a nice variety on the brunch menu. It made our Easter memorable this year.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMNeeds Valet Parking on HolidaysI have been in the habit of taking my 97-year-old mother there for special occasions. She has a cumbersome walker but the Lamb staff is good about opening the special handicap door for us so she doesn't have to go up the steps into the lobby. Usually on holidays they have valet parking (I am a good tipper for that service)... which is such a help when there is just one of me. They did not have valet parking at Easter so I had to leave my mom unattended and park the car two blocks away... and reverse the process picking up the car. She gets scared when she is left alone, so I will not be taking her there anymore for our holidays dinners. This was our first visit after hearing about this place growing up near the area. It was a private and quiet setting, most likely because it was a Tuesday. The food was great and timely. It was our anniversary and I only mentioned it when booking on Open Table, not once during our evening, and they brought us a free dessert.
