A word from The Glendon Bar & Kitchen
A cool relaxed atmosphere where cocktails and patrons are king, The Glendon offers a little something for everyone. Specialty drink and martini menus are tailored to the calorie and cost conscious (ladies take note: diet sodas and reduced calorie spirits abound). Double nightly happy hours (at 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM) cater to the after work crowd, daters, and late night denizens. Signature cocktails will incorporate The Glendon style, comfortable and chic, with a few old fashioned high-balls thrown in for good measure. And, to create a hint of the amorous, wine sold by the glass is listed by first date, second date, or third date.

Foodies will be equally impressed. The Glendon features full lunch and dinner cuisines serving California bistro comfort food. For those craving a midnight snack, reduced price appetizers will be served until last call. Diners are encouraged to save room for dessert. Pastry chef Renee Faris of TLC’s “Cake Boss” fame has signed on.

The Glendon has a nice menu and good food. However, the service is extremely slow and not very attentive. It took about 15 minutes for somebody to come by and take our food order after we had put in our drink order. This is the second time I've been here in the past three weeks and the service was just as slow as the first time. The servers are nice and the food is very good and reasonably priced. I just wish they would put an extra server or two on duty and speed up the service.

The Glendon is still our first call for a quick or long bite to eat before seeing a show or event in Westwood or UCLA. The happy hour prices for food and drink are great, but despite those discounts the regular menu has plenty of options for delicious healthy and naughty tastes that also won't break the bank. With 3 of us we share several items on the menu so we could make our own "small plates". Every item, from the BLT to the sliders, to the Glendon pizza (thin crust and flavorful), to the chopped salad; all were devoured. The service is great..on our night, they were surprised with a group of 20 that just happened to "drop in"...we watched as the staff artfully and graciously welcomed the group and all that goes with it.

A yuppie bar with food, the menu descriptions indicated detailed special items but in reality they were quite the norm. The seat bottoms appeared high but when sitting on them, they were very soft and we sat lower than expected. The music level was reasonable but the constant drum thumping at times made conversation difficult. It was definitely an upscale environment.

so we eat out a lot and I've worked and been around restaurants for good part of my life...that being said...this place has a lot of potential, but many things are wrong and need to change or they won't be around for too much longer. first off the manager was sitting at the bar drinking and barking orders at his wait staff. when we bellied up to the bar he was sitting next to us and then moved down to the other end and was hanging out with 2 girls drinking. other than that gem, which is very, very classless and not a good image to portray to customers...they were understaffed and the bartenders were too busy paying attention to other things than asking if wanted another beer or anything else. the food is pretty mediocre and needs help.

This place was terrific! Has a little bit of everything, vibrant atmosphere, great prices, wonderful service..food was wonderful also, I am gluten free-my husband is not, sometimes hard to find something we both will love, but we did.....we went before attending a play at the Geffen and it was perfect! Will certainly go back again!

I understand policy to not seat partial groups, but at times when there are available tables and a small party (2 of 3 arrived on time), I don't see the problem, especially if the bar-to-table transfer fiasco we experienced is a regular occurrence. Were at the bar until the full party was assembled. We had to close the tab at the bar instead of transferring it over. Not what we were told, but not a huge deal. Hostess had us to choose a table and move. We did and were brought menus. At least 15 minutes and two visits to the hostess later, we finally had a server come to our table. Drink order was delivered incorrect. Soda refills were left to the busboy, thus arrived wrong. I had to get up again to flag down our server to close out.

With all the turnover in Westwood, it's becoming more difficult to rely on a place for dinner before a game at UCLA, play at the Geffen, or movie in the village. This place has good drinks, a menu with "something for everyone", and can accommodate a couple or a large group. We became acquainted with it for a UCLA get-together and have gone several times since...pizzas, burgers, small plate dishes are all tasty and not over the top expensive if you just want some quality food. The service is a little slow, but friendly.

Hard to find high quality meals near Ucla that aren't super expensive... But this Is that middle road menu we wanted. A pub like atmosphere but quiet on a Sunday nite. Interesting choices including fig appetizers, pork belly tacos, and great bread pudding and crusted brownie...all home made desserts! But choices for the non adventurous as well...

Nice. It has good size portions of well prepared food. The place is nothing to look at. We were there at an off time; in fact, we were the only customers for a little while (Sunday, 5:30 p.m.). A friend tells me that it is usually very crowded and somewhat noisy, though not impossible. We will probably return the next time we are going to the Geffen for a play or UCLA Royce Hall for a concert.

Have frequented Glendon for years and usually very pleased with the meal. However, this time we were disappointed with it. I never ordered the House Burger but this time I did and sorry for that. It was good but had very little meat. I don't usually finish my meal and am a perpetual 'doggie-bag' person but there was so little in the sandwich that I finished the whole thing.

Finally a decent restaurant close to the theater and just across the street from validated theater parking. We ordered some beautiful thin crust pizzas off the happy hour menu, although the waitress did warn us that due to the pizzas' popularity, they were soon to be removed from the happy hour menu. In any case, a good place for a bite before a play. And they accommodated a large party that came in right after us with ease.

Our first time at the restaurant, a pleasant surprise. The salad was excellent, with a home made dressing. We had two pastas both of which were well prepared with very tasty sauces. We had a child with us and they were flexible in preparing a pizza for him just the way he wanted it. The pizzas were thin crusted, which we prefer. The final surprise was desert. We had a bread pudding, which was a little like french toast in character, and exceptionally good. We also had chocolate chip cookies, which were made to order, warm, with a good quality chocolate--outstanding. Service was excellent and we had a nice talk with the owner as we left. In sum, the food and service were outstanding and we shall return soon.

My friend and I went this past Saturday and had a wonderful time! The happy hour menu is great, we ordered exclusively off of it and were stuffed by the end of our meal. The food at the tables around us looked great as well! Seems like it would be a fun place to go at night and take advantage of the late-night happy hour prices. The service was a little slow, and it took us a while to get served after sitting down, but other than that it was still a fun experience.

If you're going to the Geffen Playhouse, this restaurant is very convenient. It had a nice atmosphere and the food was good. Since I live in the San Fernando Valley, I probably wouldn't be going to the restaurant unless I was going to see a play or coming to Westwood for some other reason. We were early because we needed to be out of the restaurant by 7:00pm, but by then the restaurant had filled up. It appears to be a very popular restaurant in Westwood and I'm sure has lots of patrons due to the closeness of UCLA.

I thougth this would be a nice place to dine following my UCLA commencement ceremony. I booked reservations for a party of 8. We were sat upon arrival. Everything was fine until our server came over to take our dinner order. All of a sudden he started rushing us. He cut my family off while they were placing their orders. He kept blinking his eyes as if it were paining him to listen and take note of each order (I couldn't help but wonder if he were under the influence of something...). In the end, he forgot a drink order. Also, one of the dinner orders was missing specific fixings as noted on the menu. Lastly, he got our bill wrong (forgot to add gratuity). Needless to say, we were a bit discombobulated at the end...

We ordered a pizza off of the happy hour menu, which was 1/2 price, and delicious. We had the veggie pizza and the Namaste Chicken salad. Both were amazing. Service was terrific too. We didn't have dessert, but they looked yummy too. The only downside is the high noise level, so don't go if u want a quiet dinner. I will definitely go back!

When you get off work at 10pm you're usually stuck with 24hr diner food or drive thru. Surprisingly, not only is the Glendon serving a full menu that late, but they start a second happy hour at 10pm so there are a slew of small plates for $6 each, plus well drinks for $5.50. I didn't ask about the other brands, but their well bourbon is Evan Williams which ain't too shabby. I'll be back.

Nothing could be worse than a totally awful experience on Father's Day. The service was terrible from the second we sat down. We ordered drinks which took 20 minutes and then they served coffee without sugar or cream. I had to get up to ask for them and only sugar was brought to us. Then my sister got up and asked for cream and it didn't come either, so I got up and practically screamed at the hostess. Our waiter said "everybody walked in at once." He was waiting on five tables at once on Fathers Day! No one should have to get up to beg for sugar or cream and napkins. I wish I could have talked to the manager, but we had to leave before my father was done eating because of theater tickets. I want my money back!
