Mediocre at best, the server, a rookie for sure rushed us through. I had the chicken and the biscuit was inedible, harder than a hockey puck! The sausage was ok, but not great. Dessert prices were over $10 so we left and has that and coffee elsewhere for quite a bit less. (Thanks Sorrentinos)

Probably found our new favourite dining spot in Edmonton. From the moment we walked in to the Glass Monkey for a late night dinner we were hooked. The decor and ambience, including the music, reminded us of something you would find in Europe. The service was very personalized and the food selection was varied, even eclectic. Our meals were excellent and we never felt rushed. The beer and wine selections were also varied and the value for the price point was reasonable. A really enjoyable evening and would highly recommend it.

This place makes a simple dish like Ceasar salad an occasion. The flavour of the food is always top. Tonight's waitress didn't have the timing right (e.g. rushing, interrupting when having intense conversation, clearing table when the other person wasn't finished yet). Mostly when I come here I have enjoyed mature, professional server who can read the audience well and makes it an experience (not a in and out chain restaurant experience). Enjoy this wonderful place

A great way to spend an evening. Comfortable Room, friendly service (server does need some wine training), interesting menu and tasty food. The wine list is interesting and reasonably priced with a nice selection of wines by the glass. Liked the snacks and small plates idea to put together a casual meal. Next time we will try the mains.

Our first visit to Glass Monkey, for dinner. Great wine list, and a nice range of food options including small plates, salads, pizza, and more substantial mains. Hubby had the salmon main - it was done to perfection, and veggies were perfect as well. I had a range of small plates, also great for the most part, but the broccoli was a bit ho-hum. Service was a little too attentive - felt a bit like we were being rushed out, even though the place was 3/4 empty. Noise level was a little high - music a bit too loud, though what they were playing was great. Disappointed to see large TV screens over the bar!! Sad that they felt it necessary to 'dumb down' what is otherwise a chic and understated decor. We'll go again for sure, and try more ...

we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the Glass Monkey on a Wednesday evening. Easy parking at lendrum mall. Enjoyable ambiance, great place to visit with friends. Menu included a nice selection of items , interesting appetizers , entrees salads & desserts. Our server was exceptionally patient with us as we took awhile to order. We never felt rushed & thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Glass Monkey. Recommend .... salmon (extremely tender) & bread pudding (exceptional) Will definitely return

Celebrating a 29th bday, chose this place . We got there at 7:30 sunday, no one was there, granted its thanksgiving. we picked where we wanted to sit and ordered drinks, Curious George and Monkeys Kiss, 20 mins later no drinks. With 2 other tables aside from us this was shocking..we were told bartender was "backed up" as these drinks were new to the menu and had not been perfected yet, something that should be done before adding to the menu. For dinner I chose t salmon, he chose sausage. He asked the waitress if this was a good choice. she was vegetarian & had no clue. But regardless of personal choices you should be able to provide some sort of feedback. setting & environment was lovely, service, not so much

We have been to the Glass Monkey twice. It has some things that are quite good, but if it does not improve for me, the 'three strikes you are out' rule will apply. I like the look of the room. It is though, too light; consider lowering the lighting and adding candles? Service needs to be paced out. When you spend > $100 for two for dinner, you should not be in and out in an hour. I love an attentive waiter, but I do not like being pressed into ordering 5 mins after you are seated. We have had the salmon (moist), chicken (OK), burger (delicious), pasta (Ok, small serving), fish tacos (bland) and meatballs. The meatballs are my only big criticism. Great sauce, tasty, but overcooked and hard. We told the waiter. He just smiled.

We were about 10 mins late, (my bad) however we walked in the hostess was there to greet you, asked if you had a res. we did, We all looked around and noticed about 6 or so tables empty? While waiting the hostess has to go find the owner and ask him some questions, they both stand off to the side to decide what to do with us, they decided to put to bar tables together right in front and middle of the waiter and waitress walk way. so we are now seated and continued to sit there for a good 5 mins, not 1 person spoke to us they all looked at us with an iritating glare for we were right in their way. Our husbands were getting a little perturbed, so they decided they were going to time them, another 5 mins and no one so we decided to leave.

We really wanted to like this place but just couldn't. The atmosphere and decor was really nice and the service was great but the food tasted so bland. The best part of the meal was the S&P wings that we ordered for an appy but otherwise the entrees were essentially tasteless. We will not return.

A friend and I celebrated our birthdays here and it was the perfect spot - relaxed, friendly service, a good choice of wines and the best pizza I've ever had. We weren't rushed - had lots of time to chat over our wine. And Rob topped it off by sending us a piece of his signaure bread pudding with two candles in it - really nice touch. This is our go-to spot for all our special occasions - modern decor with a casual vibe - and we're never disappointed. Thanks Rob!

My parents love this place so my sister, her husband, and I took them out for their anniversary here. There were maybe 3-4 tables in there including us, so it was nice and quiet. Unfortunately, despite us being our server's only table, the service was iffy at best. I showed up a little after everyone and had to wait about 5 minutes before he came by to take a drink order. After that he disappeared again and we had to wait around 15 minutes before he took our food order. The service got better as the night went on but considering the cost and how many tables were in there, the service should be better. Food was amazing and a different server in there was very nice and accomodating.

The ambience and wine was good at the Glass Monkey. However we had the beef carpaccio and it needed more salt. We also had the parsnip purée and it was awful. It tasted like how Mr.Clean smells and I never send food back. The flank steak was delicious but the charcuterie board was disappointing. The beet salad was under seasoned also.

Took my visiting sister in law here on Saturday. Edmonton needs neighborhood pubs that offer a sociable and friendly atmosphere that is not ruined by large screen TV's. So good concept and location but the experience fell short because the food is so mediocre. The fried chicken thigh was less appetizing than KFC and the grilled caesar was a limp joke. The pizza was tough and they were out of the sausage pasta. This from a very limited menu. I appreciate the good intentions but the food is very expensive for cafeteria style fare. Come on Gordon-here is a perfect chance for a turn around. On the positive side the Jacks bread pudding was great. Bring the rest of the menu up to scratch and you have a winner. Liked the draught IPA.

We have been there at least three times. Tonight the service was slow, the salad was wilted and the broccoli under done. Our son ordered a beer that never arrived but it was charged on the bill. Not the best night at the Glass Monkey! Maybe we will return but not for a while!

There's still no need to reserve seats, for now. The restaurant is hidden away in a strip mall with an outdoor section if you'd like to dine outside. Being there on a Sunday night was surprisingly quiet. There were lots of beer and wine choices available and the atmosphere is a place where it'll be good for a date: quiet, yet sophisticated enough to not have children. Appetizer of fish tacos came in two so easily shareable with a friend. The pappardelle was smaller than I expected but the flavours were excellent. The bread pudding was also quite nice and also a shareable size with one other person. The waiter was quite attentive (or it could be because there weren't too many people there?) and friendly.

This was our 2nd visit to Glass Monkey and curious if it was as good as the first time. We were a table of 4 & sat on the patio. At first the music was a bit loud for conversation. We asked the waiter to turn down the volume and it was done so promptly. Our waiter's name was Allan and he was our waiter the first time we dined here 5 weeks prior. He has the perfect amount of attentiveness: aware of your needs without hovering. The food was great! We were all very happy with our choices. One person in our party is finicky about about his wine. After his first taste of an unfamiliar wine, he declined any. Ten minutes later we convinced him to keep asking for different tastes. Bingo! The bar found one he liked a lot. Excellent dinner for all.

I was looking forward to dinner at the Glass Monkey but was disappointed. The burger was to be cooked medium or medium rare, but it turned out to be well done. The bun was a generic toasted bun and the fries seemed like the frozen variety. I could have done better at a less expensive diner. The fish tacos were tasty but the salsa was a bit bland.

I came on a Thursday evening and there was about 6 other people in the restaurant which should have been a red flag but we dining anyways. Our server was too attentive visiting us every 2 minutes really interrupting our conversation flow. If the food had not been terrible I wouldnt bother writing a review to just complain about service. One order of the chicken "large plate" came out completely raw. It was sent back and didn't return until well after everyone was finished. We had two "large plate" orders of fish and both were completely unsalted and unseasoned. Really not worth going out for, total waste of money! Overall I will not be returning ever and recommend others to do the same! Manager didn't even offer an apology for the raw food!

We had a group of 8 for supper. We all ordered entrees and all were happy with our meals. Good atmosphere and although the restaurant was a bit noisy, it was from the people talking and not loud music. We didn't try any if the small plates, but it was nice to see several options that were a bit different from what other restaurants offer. We will definitely return to try more of the menu.
