The food food here is great and far above your average restaurant. The kitchen creates some delicious combinations, like the filet and bone marrow butter or the duck meatloaf and foie gras, or the scallops and grits. Yummmm, my mouth is watering! Plus a 2008 Col Solare for only $90 on the wine list - are you kidding? That's like stealing!! And the cocktails are worth trying as well although the Moscow mule is not your average, so be prepared that it won't be exactly like your mama makes it. Thai margarita is a great choice as well.

We brought our college-aged son here since he is a foodie and we were not disappointed. Service was impeccable and the food surpassed our expectations. We had the smoked mozzarella fondue appetizer and butternut squash soup to start. Wow. Entrees were scallops (yum), duck meatloaf (incredible) and the french onion soup burger (wow). Dessert was the s'mores chocolate bread pudding and banana pudding in a jar. One of the best meals we have had in a long time! We'll definitely be back.

It was a very nice experience at The Gladlys. Food is in the right portion and very tasty. Service is timely and nice. I would rate this restaurant a 5 stars if it wasn't so dimmed that I can't read the menu or see the faces of my guests. Overall, it was very good.

Staff was inexperienced. Didn't know much about the menu. Didn't ask why so much food was left. Did not give us time to read the menu. Wanted the order NOW. Food was just OK. Short ribs were not tender. Chef should check out how Chelsea's Kitchen cooks them.

The food was great overall. We had the fondue, short rib, and scallops. All were very good. Good taste parings within the dishes. The wines by the glass list left a lot to be desired. I realize whiskey and bourbon are the highlights of this restaurant, but you have to remember that mostly men drink them. Women typically prefer wine or mixed drinks. Both wines that we ordered, she did not like. I tasted them as well and felt they were weak and flavorless. Server was nice, but needs to be taught basic serving etiquette. The support staff seemed to know this but she did not. Reaching across the table to fill glasses or place food/drink for example. At a restaurant where I am paying this much per plate, I expect a certain level of service.

This was my second visit. The service was very attentive. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an appetizer and we had to send it back. The brussel sprouts were HARD and very difficult to cut and chew. The waiter was very apologetic and offered to have it redone. We just went on to on to our entrees which were excellent. I will go back there

The omelette was good, the chopped salad had enuf hype....didn't match hype for me. Desserts were good as well. So glad I tried, will return

The food was exceptional. We really enjoyed the Restaurant Week choices. The Spanish Mule was on Happy Hour, so when I ordered a Moscow Mule, I would have liked to have been informed of the Spanish Mule because I would have ordered that instead. It wasn't until my second drink when I asked what was on Happy Hour was I aware of the SPanish Mule which I then proceeded to order. Other than that the food was great. I loved the scallops, they were cooked perfectly.

Our waiter Philip was very well versed in all of the menu options but even more educated about the extensive whiskey selection. He was funny but not obnoxious and was very attentive to our table. Our food was phenomenal. I don't use that word lightly. We had the grilled filet mignon with bone marrow butter, mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, Cabernet demi-glace and asparagus and the boneless nutella short ribs with mashed sweet potatoes, pickled corn & onion.

We visited the Gladly during Restaurant Week and definitely plan to return. Loved dining outdoors. Inside, the noise level was too loud for conversation. Staff were all friendly and efficient. We ordered the chimichurri chicken and the scallops with a cola reduction, and were well pleased with both choices, as well as the salads, especially the raisin vinaigrette dressing. We also had the s'mores dessert which would have been superb except for the rock salt that coated an otherwise delectable scoop of chocolate ice cream, "subtraction by addition". Note to chef: Keep it simple. Easy parking and viable Biltmore location make this a terrific find.

We went for restaurant week and will definitely be back. Very attractive and contemporary. It was still too hot, but patio looked lovely. Started with the chopped salad - nice size serving of this Sdale classic - not overwhelming as an appetizer. We both had the duck meatloaf as main course - very good, and the grits(?) it was served atop were wonderful - creamy yet extremely textural. Smores bread pudding dessert excellent. Service professional and friendly. Not a quiet restaurant, but sophisticated, urban and lively.

The food was tasty. superb! The scallop dish with grits was delish and so was the Cobb salad. My boyfriend had the duck meatloaf and the seasonal squash soup....both great! The Royal Hawaiian cocktail I had was nothing special ...tasted like pineapple and rum...the sangria was good though. The ambiance was average...the furniture looked cheap and the second level was awkward and cold. The big windows are nice...but that's about all that gives it style. Great service..I would come back.

We went to The Gladly with some friends and he food was fantastic! Our server, Philip, what is extremely knowledgeable about the food, it's preparation, and the wine to pair with our food. We sat down at the bar and I ordered a drink that I like. Unfortunately, they were out of the gin I prefer, so I tried a substitute gin. I wasn't crazy about how the drink came out, so the bartender added a few ingredients, shook it up, and it was fantastic! Great recovery!

This was our first visit, and we were impressed by the menu, not long but a great variety. Happy hr prices all day Sunday, along with unique brunch selections. Ordered the BBLT from lunch menu with salad, and half the sandwich was a full meal. Very rich with the thick pork belly slab bacon. Also had the original chopped salad - definitely understand why this is on the "must try dishes in Phoenix list" with a unique mix of ingredients that really make an excellent salad, and the brussels sprout ap. There were not a lot of parties when we were there, but our waiter was distracted by a larger party he had. Other staff did stop by to "help", but it was a disappointing element of the visit. We decided next time we'll try sitting at the bar.

The restaurant is big, cold and uninteresting. The bar is impressive. The rest looks like a factory cafeteria. The food is expensive and quite bad. The pork belly appetizer was way fatty and served barely warm. And it was listed as smoked. Nah. Flavorless. The slaw was too acidic. . The smoked mozzarella fondue was not smoked and not interesting. The scallops were cooked correctly, but the corn polenta was--flavorless. Supposed to have smoked bacon. I found some funny little took-breakers that I believe were the bacon. The pork confit was stale. Must've been sitting in the kitchen for a couple of days. Served over something mysterious that was also way vinegary. But i The banana cream desert was blah. All in all, a huge disappointment.

In town for a family member's milestone birthday, I snagged a last-minute seating at The Gladly. The food? Awesome! I ordered the crispy cobia, (firm white fish w/ Thai-inspired coconut, kaffir lime, and mint flavors, served on jasmine rice). My mother ordered the scallops (delicious; served with grits and pea vines). My father got the Wagyu beef burger and I nearly stole it from him (one of the most amazing burgers I've had in my life). Birthday dessert was the s'mores bread pudding - so decadent (sharing is a must). We also picked up a bag of the bacon brittle to go. The only less-than-stellar thing was our server that evening - obnoxiously loud and inattentive. Host staff+manager were great - would definitely return regardless.
