  • "The whole experience was a flop! Had a drink at the bar first. The restaurant was almost empty on a Sat. at 6:30, bad sign. Did wait for a patio seat though, so about 8 tables outside had guests. The patio is nice. The restaurant inside is cold, icy, corporate, trying to be hip but missing the mark on every count. The music!! Creepy techno-grind, yuck. Sets such a bad atmosphere. Hostess, very nice, waitress, pretty good, not very enthusiastic, but I don't blame her. The food was average, and way overpriced. The drinks were on the high side too. Could have gone to many fine restaurants instead for this price, but when you put off reservations, you end up at the Gladly. Just not again. Sorry!"

  • "This is an incredibly expensive restaurant without the fine dining, awesome location that might justify the prices. Chicken for close to $40 with inedible potatoes, prime rib that was almost inedible due to the abundant fat and close to $50 with again, inedible sides. You can get much better food and much cheaper prices at many places wihtin a mile of this one."

  • "My wife and happened upon this restaurant through TripAdvisor and we took a chance. We are glad we did. We started with great Manhattans, which are often not quite right. The appetizers were unique and memorable. The entres were the same. We travel and dine out often. I can honestly say this was one of the finest and most pleasurable dining experiences in my adult life. Thank you, The Gladly, for the experience."

  • "I don't think I could get my husband to go back because of the noise. Otherwise, everything was excellent. We were seated next to a table of 6 women and could not carry on a conversation in normal tones. Fortunately they left early and it was better. The industrial look is popular in new restaurants but the hard surfaces don't absorb any of the noise. In a large barn like atmosphere, dining can be a frustrating experience. Maybe everyone should sit and text one another and converse in that manner."

  • "Went to the Gladly on a Wednesday night with my two adult daughters. It was quite full, so it seems to have attracted a lot of customers. I ordered the famous chopped salad, which I had eaten before at Citizen Public House, and it was as good as I remembered. Also had the crab cakes, which were OK but nothing special. Service was friendly and prompt. My only real complaint was the noise level--it was difficult for us to hear each other."

  • "The Gladly has a varied menu with unusual choices. We went with a group of four and had the duck meatloaf, the chicken, the lamb riblets, and the scallops. Everything was prepared well, though the chicken was a bit scorched. The meatloaf was very delicious and had a cherry sauce. The scallops were perfectly prepared with a creamy risotto. We also tried several salads and the chicken pate. It was delicious and prepared with pistachios. Gave it a milder flavor. Our server was excellent and explained each dish to us. I would definitely go back and would recommend the restaurant to others."

  • "My wife and I went here for dinner as a recommendation from a friend. We started with the Roasted Brussels and the Chopped Salad (sharing both). They were AMAZING and an awesome start to the meal! For our entrees, my wife enjoyed the Scallops dinner and I had the Coffee Charred Short Ribs. Both were delicious. We will be eating here again shortly. I can't wait to try more offerings form the menu. Thanks for a great dinner Gladly!"

  • "Starting with drinks and appetizer at the bar, continuing to dinner, The Gladly was phenomenal. I was concerned that its location (formerly Ruth's Chris in the Camelback Financial Corridor) meant it was going to be some stuffy, uptight place that was all about the "show" and not focused on the food. I am thrilled to have been wrong about that! Bartenders were attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable and friendly. Host staff were friendly and accommodating when we told them half our dinner party was running late. Service was friendly, upbeat and timed to perfection. This was the PERFECT place for a leisurely meal, with each course as good as the last."

  • "We had lunch as a table for 10. Lots of different food choices, and no one was dissatisfied with the entrees--burger, chopped salad, tossed salad, grilled cheese, chicken sandwich, steak salad, fries and especially the green tea served with orange slice. Very satisfying. The buns/bread for sandwiches and the interesting part-dill, part-bread and butter pickles tasted home-made. We shared a bread pudding dessert, and, while nice, was a bit dry--needed to be creamier. Service was very good, including separate checks for all."

  • "We had lunch here on a Monday and the place was pretty empty. The service was slow and not too helpful. Many of the preps on the menu items are too complicated, and they don't even list ingredients on some of the dishes. Chopped salad refers you to a Facebook page to try and find out what it is. Really? I asked the server and her comeback was a question about whether I had ever eaten at two other restaurants. Not sure how that would tell me what was in the salad. My friend had the pork sandwich and said he wished he had ordered something else. My salad was pretty blah, and the chicken that they charged an extra $4 for was tiny chopped pieces of cold chicken. There are better options in the area so we won't be back."

  • "To the thousands of people in Phoenix standing on sidewalks for an hour or more waiting for a table at Sunday brunch, The Gladly (for now at least!) is the answer to your prayers. The restaurant was not crazy packed and we had a group of 7 seated immediately. The food was excellent and we enjoyed everything about it. Great cocktails (try the Farmers Punch), and well-made fresh-tasting food, the pate appetizer was great, the steak salad wonderful, everyone in the group was impressed. The manager came over for a nice chat, and our server was really helpful about accommodating some special requests. The space itself is cool, and with outdoor seating as well, friends and I will return often."

  • "THis was our third time at Gladly's and we like the restaurant very much, We like to dine in the library so we can chat with friends, though, on Saturday night, the noise was a bit louder than on a week night. Food and beverages were fine, except for my chicken dish. I'd had it before and was looking forward to it. This time, unfortunately, it was overdone and the chimichanga sauce was 'cooked out' and too bitter. Next time, I'll order something else!"

  • "The food here is outstanding! Their famous chop salad is so good by itself I think I could eat 3 in one sitting for my entire meal (and you would have to roll me out of there). Wine list is great and the rest of the food has always been good as well, had the scallops which were good. The fondue was also fun to eat and tasted pretty good! Can't wait to go back."

  • "I love Citizen Public House and this was my first visit to The Gladly (by the same owner). My friend and I were out looking for a nice meal to celebrate a new job. The service was spot on; Kat-our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu & the drinks and made excellent suggestions. She was the right amount of attentive and the whole staff was great. They appeared over staffed for the evening (with staff hired from a top-notch modelling agency - all beautiful people) but I felt like i was good hands all night. The food should have been the highlight of the night and it was. The pate was delicious. Both of our entrees were spectacular and the drinks were so good, we had way more than we planned to. Great experience. I'll be back"

  • "After 4 attempts, we finally made it in to The Gladly. We were there to celebrate an award I had won at work. So GLAD we did. The atmosphere is lively, the service is prompt and accurate, the food was a delight. I ordered a vegetarian plate, constructed by chef's imagination...it was delicious. Also had the appetizer of Brussels Sprouts on a bed of the most buttery, smooth grits ever-YUM! Hubby had the special entree: Lamb Osso Buco, upon our server, David's suggestion, and was not disappointed. Excellent drink menu of extensive wine, spirits and handcrafted cocktails. We sat in the upper dining area this time, which is a nice choice if you are looking for a bit more quiet and privacy. We will certainly be returning!"

  • "My boyfriend and I decided to splurge and go somewhere fancy for a belated Valentine's Day dinner since we couldn't celebrate on the actual day. We chose The Gladly because we have heard great things about the bar and food. We dressed up very formal (because we thought that's what The Gladly was like) and we went to dine. Upon arriving, we realized it's actually quite casual. I liked the beautiful bar. It has a quiet ambience and a great waiting staff. The food and drinks are on the expensive end, but my filet mignon was great. I would return to The Gladly for another special occasion in the future."

  • "Maybe it was due to having high expectations and booking for Valentine's day 60 days early, but my wife and I were let down. Citizen Public House had been amazing to us, in which we spent just under $200 (tax/tip included) and thus we thought we would have much of the same with Gladly. Fixed menu's are always a bummer, which you could tell with the pork chop being hard and much tougher than it should have been, smaller app portions, or the feeling that they are trying to hustle you out the door as you order your appetizers and they come out 12 seconds later. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, yet still felt we were being hurried, as we sat 4 inches from other couples on both sides. Service was good. Food was meh. Ambience poor. Spent $200."

  • "The Gladly does everything well, taking the Ice Ball from Citizens Public House, and having a large variety of scotch whiskey's to start. Ahh but there is more to tantalize your taste buds on the menu, the ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS corn grits, truffle oil was a great starter. Entrees PAN SEARED SCALLOPS cola gastrique, bacon, sweet corn grits, pea greens; DUCK MEATLOAF foie gras mousseline, smoked cherry demi-glace, rosemary millet, grilled asparagus; and COFFEE CHARRED SHORT RIBScaramelized gorgonzola barley, blueberry cumin compote. The service was professional and pleasant, surroundings excentric. The famous Chopped Salad from Cowboy Ciao followed here, although we did not have, I highly recommend if you have not."
