Diner Reviews
  • "The food was well-cooked and the tastes were great! Each dish has a good balance of multiple flavors. We really enjoyed dining in the Georgian. I think their brunch look good too and probably will try brunch next time."

  • "Went here for the first time for my friend's birthday during SRW lunch and I was blown away scenery. The employees were outstanding and I could tell they have been well trained. The food was amazing presentation-wise as well as taste-wise. I am definitely coming back here with my partner next time!"

  • "We had a wonderful evening with terrific food and presentation The service was amazing--precise and knowledgeable as well as courteous!"

  • "The restaurant was great. Food, service, ambience wonderful My only complaint was that the pork was overcooked somewhat and dry. Everything else was spectacular. Wine pairing was fabulous"

  • "I ate at the Georgian several times. It is one of my favorite lunch spots. Food is wonderful in taste and presentation. Service first class. I love the elegance ambience, and the dining room is usually quiet so you can actually carry on a conversation."

  • "We left completely satisfied; the food quantities were slightly larger than previous visits, which turned out great for us."

  • "I would like to see a better varity of lunch items. I was there in December and now in April-seems as the menu items were the same. Nothing really exciting."

  • "My husband and I are new to town, so we were excited to try a few new places during restaurant week. We both had the short rib sandwich for lunch. It was great. Good flavor, right amount of moisture. It didn't require any additional sauce or condiments. I also thoroughly enjoyed the rice pudding desert. I'd go back to the Georgian for a non-restaurant week meal."

  • "Lunch with my mother and a friend at the Georgian was delicious, delightful, and an oasis in our busy days. Lunch here is surprisingly inexpensive for the quality of the food and the exceeding poshness of the environment; the one exception is the breathtakingly expensive coffee. We three each decided to have a cup at the end of our meals, and were shocked to find that the three cups, at $6 each, came to 20% of our total bill, including a glass of wine and three full meals. It was very good coffee, but this is Seattle and we're used to good coffee. Wherein lay the expense? Were the beans shucked by hand? Roasted over a fire built of charcoal from a bristlecone pine? Treat yourself to a delightful lunch at the Georgian, but skip the coffee."

  • "While I have been dining at The Georgian for many years, I am always impressed at the attention to detail that goes into every aspect of our time at the restaurant. The food has always been prepared perfectly and this time was no exception, from the Young Spinach salad to the Rack of Lamb our meal was simply amazing, and our soufflé was with out equal. I truly appreciated that they participated in Earth Hour by turning out all of the lights, giving us a very special candle light dinner."

  • "After surveying the dinner menu, which was just right in size with ample choices and not too many, we settled on the fixed 3- and 5-course meals with accompanying wine pairings. The experience was delightful. Great service, delicious food well explained in detail by the servers. The whole thing was classy and elegant all the way. A slow romantic pleasure of the senses. Accompanied by nice accordion / contrabass jazz duo."

  • "Four off us went there to celebrate the birthdays of two of us. The restaurant didn't do anything special for the birthday folks, as some restaurants, do, but overall, we enjoyed the evening very much. Plan to spend a long time- dinner is your evening. They is a trio of musicians who play in the background- quite lovely and sedate."

  • "Perfect place to lunch before a matinee at the 5th Ave or The Paramount.. Wonderful menu choices, service is outstanding and, most importantly for we seniors, the room is quiet! Easy to visit. The room is elegant and sunny. Be sure to call in advance for reservations."

  • "My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday. We live in Seattle, and have heard of the place but never been here before. We were treated like royalty from the moment we walked to the hostess podium, until the end of our meal. Our waiter was excellent. All of his recommendations fit our taste. He really listened to what we wanted, and he was very good at being attentive, polite, and making us feel special. Not only were we given complimentary tastes of appetizers between courses, and extra portions with our shared appetizers, I was given a delicious chocolate soufflé to celebrate my birthday! This was definitely an all around special experience, and I would recommend this place to anyone celebrating anything!"

  • "I've always liked the Georgian but the three-course menu needs to be changed more often. I would also like to see more vegetables with the entree as some of the items are very rich. Service is always outstanding."

  • "Centrally Located, Great Service, Great Food (and not chintzy) - this was Valentines week and the place was empty - guess they need a marketing plan or new marketing director. Their lobby bar was open late - servicing the hotel guests coming back from other meals and events. The Bellevue Westin could learn something here."

  • "A valentine spectacular experience! The decor was elegant yet inviting! The menu perfect for the evening. The music a bonus to the atmosphere! We had the wine paring, a perfect complement to the fabulous culinary creations. A must now every year! A first for my new bride and I. A place we will enjoy for years to come!"

  • "Took a date to the Georgian for afternoon tea. The atmosphere was perfect from the crown molding down to the carpets. Service was excellent and we even got a little history of the room. Tea came with a tower of assorted 'fine dinning finger foods' such as salmon sandwiches, caviar fill wraps and macaroons. Overall a great experience and a must try if you're looking for a relaxing but elegant afternoon."

  • "Valentines Day was a special treat with red rose petals on the table and across the decor. The dinner price fix menu which included a filet and lobster, whipped soup and tomato salad. One of us is Gluten free and the presentation was changed to accommodate it, seamlessly. Dinner was not a long one as the food was presented quickly(IMO because of so many seeking a Friday night Valentines dinner) but still done so you did not feel rushed. Would recommend any special occasion there, or just a beautiful dinner out"

  • "The formal tea at the Georgian is quite nice: sandwiches with unusual ingredients, very sweet pastries/desserts, decent scones. Pleasant, if somewhat reserved, service (fitting in the formal ambiance). A good place for a good conversation over tea."

  • "Everything about this experience exceeded expectations. As so far as I could surmise, you can't go wrong with any dish, as they are all thoughtfully and imaginatively prepared. The service was quite literally perfect. It could be used as a standard by which to measure perfect service elsewhere to other restaurants chagrin. However - be aware that all of this comes at a price that is about double that of other "nice" restaurants. You get what you pay for though."

  • "The room was chilly, we kept our coats on the entire time. We were seated and told someone would be right with us. 15minutes later we had to flag down a busperson to even get water. It took almost 1.5 hrs before our food was served. Disappointed."

  • "I've eaten lunch and dinner here recently and both were so enjoyable for many reasons. The food is great, nicely presented, good menu selection, great drinks. The service was fantastic: attentive, friendly but not intrusive. How refreshing to not be referred to as "you guys" or hear "no problem". The room has huge windows for lots of light at lunch. In the evening, subdued lighting makes for a really nice ambience. The room is spacious, potted palms, lots of architectural details. Am I really in Seattle? Sigh. I won't wait to go back."

  • "…but not necessarily for the food. The Georgian is a beautiful room in a beautiful hotel. Nice quiet background music, excellent service, very good for a special occasion. But the food was…meh. The hot and cold oyster appetizer was decent, and the presentation was very nice. The salad was unremarkable. The crab bisque was so sweet I couldn't finish it. The quail was too sweet. My scallops were good, though. The black and white (chocolate) soufflé was pretty good. I could see myself going back there for a coffee and to share soufflé some afternoon, but I just don't see us headed back here for a regular meal any time soon."

  • "This is an excellent restaurant but VERY QUIET. Compromising quality by not enforcing the dress code. not a good value, way too expensive. wine list is just OK..pricey also. this is our tenth time there and it does not disappoint; however, the value is just not there anymore..."

  • "Chose to spend our anniversary with The Georgian. What a great choice. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. The food was not only well prepared and delicious but interesting and well presented. My wife expressed a concern about gluten and the staff knew just how to guide her to the best choices. Although the room is big, the atmosphere is cozy and warm. The live music was interesting but not overpowering. Just right for a romantic evening. The prices are really quite reasonable for the level of service and the quality of dining at The Georgian. You won't regret this choice for your next night out."

  • "Wait staff tuned in perfectly to our mood and timing. Lobster and scallops were perhaps the best we had ever had. Wine pairings were delightful. Our dinners (there were five of us) could not have been better. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."

  • "Our reservations was at 6pm. We were the only ones in the restaurant for the first 45 minutes so we felt like they closed the place down just for us. Our waiter was attentive but never in our face. My husband had the 5 course meal and he was oohing and aahing the entire evening. If we're back in Seattle, we would definitely go back."

  • "This was my first time having dinner at the Georgian. Typically I go there for lunch. The dinner menu is a bit more expensive (as you would expect), but you get what you pay for. Excellent food, service and experience. Would I do it again? In a second!"
    Dined on 12/13/2013
  • "The room itself is lovely and elegant. Although the restaurant was not busy, service was very, very slow. We had to ask for beverages and they were not served until midway through the meal. One of them (a glass of milk) didn't arrive until the end. The Lunch Special Plate was attractively and artistically presented. The anticipation of the special treat of eating at the Georgian Room was very much dampened by an overall average experience of mediocre tasting food and poor service. This is not the restaurant or the experience it used to be."
