  • "Excellent food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Alcohol and food other than sandwiches is expensive, but well worth it."

  • "Good food but high priced. High end Hall's restaurant, get just as good of food at Triangle Park or Factory for lower price. Had to drive around parking lot several times due to lack of parking available."

  • "The Gas House is a Fort Wayne gem. Wood & leather, brick & cut flowers, good food & casual sophistication. A favorite."

  • "limited, but the food was very good. We will definitely eat there again."

  • "Even though they were extremely busy, the food and service were excellent. The local festival had that area of the city a little overwhelmed with the volume of people, but you could not tell it from the level of service and attention that we received inside. A wonderful and romantic dining experience is what we went for, and it is what we received."

  • "We found this restaurant online. While the food was good, when it was brought to the table mine was brought out alone and we looked at the server very confused and his response was "should I be looking for something else?". Apparently my date's meal was not put in so his meal came about 10 minutes later. An apology was offered by our waitress but typically at nicer restaurants a free appetizer/dessert would have been offered for the inconvenience."

  • "Excellent food and the service as great, but we were there earlier than the rush. The building is rustic but well maintained, great décor and plenty large enough for groups."

  • "I never write reviews, but this restaurant deserves a recommendation! Visiting Fort Wayne my husband and I have been impressed with the chain of Hall family restaurants. This is the third Hall restaurant we have visited and all 3 of the Hall chain establishments have been outstanding. We had the surf and turf entrée and the steak really did melt in our mouths. The blue cheese lettuce wedge is amazing. I also ordered the sweet potato soufflé and to save calories was going to eat only a couple of bites…..I couldn't stop until it was finished. At the Factory restaurant I had the prime rib—it was amazing. I am not a big fan of meats, I just eat meat for the protein…however, the Hall group knows how to make meats absolutely delicious."

  • "The gas house was great. Friendly staff, clean restaurant. Food was delicious. My husband and I both had filet mignon and were very happy with it. The wine list is pretty good too! We had a wonderful date night."

  • "I cannot believe I have lived in Fort Wayne my entire life and had never dined at The Gas House. Our food was fantastic! Fish tacos to start, husband had the porterhouse and I had the fabulous tuna. With my dinner it was recommended to try the spring salad, I promise if all my salads tasted like that one I would eat salad all the time! Our server was great, with a wonderful sense of humor! We will definitely be coming back!"

  • "I had the Delmonico Ribeye and my sides were baked macaroni and cheese. I asked my server which steak she would eat and she told me try the ribeye. The steak came out looking great and do did the mac and cheese. The bernaise sauce I ordered was amazing. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the steak and my side. The steak was 60% fat. I ordered the steak med rare. The outer edge of the steak was rare and when I finally got to the meat it was over cooked. The mac and cheese was flavorless after I got through the top layer of melted cheese."

  • "This was our first time at the Gas House. There was a musician singing and playing in the far corner of the restaurant from our table. We ordered the filet mignon. It was tender, juicy, and tasty. Our server was great. I will definitely be returning."

  • "We were seated at a round table, it was loud and we had to talk way to loud to hear eachother. Plus there was music coming from the bar that made more unnecessary back ground noise. The food was just ok for the price. My parents split a Prime rib, it was very fatty. When we ask our waitress about it, she said that was the way it is. My tuna was suppose to be medium rare. It was more well done, the inside was more tan then pink. "

  • "Took the family out for dinner to celebrate my daughters graduation. The Gas House was a great choice and the food was fantastic. The low score I will give is the service was a bit rushed, we were served quickly and efficiently but were not offered appetizers. We were there with lots of HS prom dates so I will give the server a pass. We will go back. "

  • "Greeted by a very young and unprofessional hostess. Started with cocktails. The menu is rather limited. I ordered the special of the day, fillet and lobster tail. Started with an appetizer that was ample for the table and quite good. The Caesar salads were different, served with red onion, grape tomatoes, shaved cheese, and too many croutons. It was OK, but not a classic Caesar. My entree was just barely okay. Neither the fillet or the lobster was as large as the waitress described-- the side of creamed spinach was lousy. I had ordered the steak medium rare--closer to medium and the lobster was dry. One of the guests had one of the Gas House hamburgers. He really enjoyed it. Overall, not exceptional. Probably will not go back."

  • "You can't beat the Hall's restaurants for a good steak! The Gas House is always reliable - yet they continually strive to keep up-to-date in their selections and atmosphere. We know we will always receive good food and excellent service at the Gas House!"

  • "I had a hot date with a very special lady on a Saturday evening. I asked for a sort of quiet table, away from the main crowd so that we could talk and get to know each other. We were given a table in the corner.....just as ordered! Very nice evening, great food and service and wonderful atmosphere."

  • "We dine at the Gas House often, it is one of our favorites. However Friday night visit was not great. We have special needs & ask for a booth in the bar when making reservations. We not only didn't get in the bar, we didn't get a booth. We we asked the hostess about this , she was rude, said you need to make reservations 3 weeks in advance to get a booth. SOORY I don't believe that. Was disappointed that they didn't try to meet our needs."

  • "I had the Fried chicken cobb big salad, it was pretty good although there either wasn't any bleu cheese on it or not enough to taste it. My friend had the 8 oz filet mignon, simply seared. She ordered it medium and there wasn't a hint of red as you would expect for medium rare, it was dark red and raw in the middle - she could not finish it. I'd go back as I prefer to support local dining establishments, but I'd probably try something else from the menu."

  • "Unfortunately, I was dissappointed in the Jumbo - I expected it to be more chuncky. The smoke flavor was great, but almost too distracting. The bread was truly amazing - one of a kind! Very nice and unique! I loved the live music, we were there on a Fri evening."

  • "I had the chicken club sandwich. It was cold, the chicken was so tough that I couldn't chew it. The fries had no seasoning or taste and were very bland. The waiter was great until we got our food. He never came back to check on us so I couldn't tell him how terrible the food was. He only came back to give us our checks."

  • "We so enjoyed our first visit to the Gas House! The food was amazing and the ambience was incredible! We love the architecture of the building - love how you have maintained the history! The service was fairly good - perhaps our server was new?? Overall, we were extremely pleased with our visit and plan to return soon!"

  • "Great location and moderate price are pluses. Food quality is uneven, same dish can vary from visit to visit, including being frequently over seasoned. Smoke from the kitchen spread to the dining room and lingered unpleasantly. 3 guests in our party ordered gumbo, enjoyed it in the past, but this time found it so spicy as to be inedible. Great Fort Wayne tradition that has slipped somewhat."

  • "I was late planning my Valentines Day dinner with my wife and as a last resort I booked the Gas House. I wasn't expecting much and almost cancelled because I wasn't looking forward to the meal or the experience. I was pleasantly surprised! The Gas House has a very rustic atmosphere and yesteryear charm. They had a live Jazz guitarist that played exceptionally well but not so loud you couldn't have a conversation at normal volume. We sat at the bar before the meal and enjoyed a few drinks while waiting for our reservation. They came and got us 30 minutes early and seated us. The staff and the food weren't world class but I must say they were a solid good. My wife, a big fan of Eddie Merlots, but wants to come back with friends."

  • "Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The were very juicy and crusted very well on the outside. The flavor was spectacular. The bread was delicious as always. The staff were very friendly and we had great music to dine to."

  • "I had the New York strip, which was absolutely wonderful! They were ready for us at the reservation time, no extra wait."

  • "I absolutely love this place. The dining area is simple and beautiful, with hard wood floors and semi-private booths for a romantic dinner or long tables for families, and the service is always great. And the food! We always get the filet mignon sliders, even though having those and the complimentary, heavenly, crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside bread make it really hard to finish our dinners. We've tried several different dinners and haven't found anything we didn't like. My husband's favorite is the Delmonico steak, which is always cooked to perfection and mine is the Beef Tenderloin salad. It's worth not being able to button my pants to have a side of Souffled Sweet Potatoes for dessert!"

  • "The waiter was friendly, my food was delicious, and the prices are reasonable. My mother's bacon-wrapped filet mignon was underdone. However, she did not send it back she just dealt with it. I had the simply seared filet mignon and it was perfect! All in all it's a nice place to get a great steak!"

  • "We have eaten at the Gas House several times in the last 3 years or so and are always very pleased. This time it was the restaurant of choice for our Valentine's Day meal. Due to time constraints we visited at lunchtime. My husband had the filet mignon and declared it to be the best steak he'd ever eaten, cooked perfectly. I had the deep-fried shrimp and have to say they were also cooked to perfection. Our side dishes were also delicious. Our waitress was friendly, fun and attentive, but not too attentive. All-in-all it was so great that we can't wait to go back!"
