This was by far the worst meal that I have ever paid for. I admire their message, but the food has to have some flavor. Even if you are a vegan, do not waste your money.

Wonderful down-to-earth feel with great people and great food. Very vegetarian and vegan friendly! Every course, appetizer through dessert, was bursting with flavor and served at the perfect temperature. The massaged kale salad was an excellent way to begin, and the tahini is much better than what I have at home. The Jackfruit Stew was the perfect texture, and very good. I would highly recommend the chocolate cake - I am a chocolate lover who does not particularly like "cake" (I forgo the cake part for the icing because the cake part is usually just not chocolatey enough), but this cake was moist and tasty, so much so that I ate the whole thing. Also recommend the apple dessert- amazing crumbly topping.

  • The Garden - North Denver
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 3/1/2013
A wonderful find in the culinary wasteland that is North Denver. The lowdown: it is a vegetarian menu with many surprises that include vegan and gluten free options. For example, the jack fruit pot roast was a great twist on an old recipe using a fruit that is already hard to use - hence my proclamation "fit for foodies." We also GREATLY enjoyed the potato soup. Super-creamy but no dairy - ask them their secret. The added bonus: The Garden offers cooking classes, urban gardening classes, and seminars throughout the year and is transforming the city block they are located into a vegetable and fruit mecca with the help of the community. WONDERFUL mentality.

Great vegan GF place to eat. Was a very slow beginning but once the food came it was stellar. However timing of dishes seemed off in that they brought out 2nd course while I still had half if my first course left

We dined at The Garden the first night of restaurant week. I had heard about the brunch here, and would still like to go back for it sometime soon. Our favorite parts of the meal were the green apple pie smoothie, tahini ginger sauce that came with the cashew cheese and veggies, and the lentil millet cakes with roasted tomato sauce. Everything else was ok. The enchilada casserole was overpowered by the green chile sauce and the raw lasagna was a bit bland. The main issue was the timing - each course came out long before we were done with the previous course. Overall, we love the concept and will likely be back to try more menu items as the seasons change. Hopefully the timing issue improves.

I went for quality food, no processed stuff. Portions weren't big, but somehow I felt satisfied (wouldn't have anything to do with pacing myself and eating the right foods). I enjoyed the flavor, and the diverse selection. Also, it was really affordable considering they are serving up good-conscience food. I can't wait to go back!

We loved our brunch at The Garden! Two in our family are gluten free, and the menu was perfect for our needs. The food is delicious, lovingly prepared, healthy, organic, reasonably priced, and really creative. This is sort of a Root Down of the east side of Denver. We'll be back!

They were out of butter. They couldn't sell the preserves that we're all over the place. The portios are really small. The ace was nicei side. I hope the food improves. I use to go there when it was Katie's . They need to Make portions s larger than a 1/2 cup for quiche & just serve it crust less in a small dish as smal as the palm of your hand, make pancakes bigger than a half dollar & nothing else on the plate besides 4 pancakes & 3 slithers of orange slices. Serve side dishes with food. They display preserves they can't sell. My husband & I and another couple that work with us & our frlends went there. We hadn't gotten together in a long time. We will go some where different next time.

The Garden is a true vegetarian or gluten-free diner's delight. From the moment my wife and I walked in, the quiet, soothing atmosphere made for a special meal with great conversation. While the menu definitely caters to vegetarians, there are nightly specials with meat, fish or other proteins. What struck me at first was how inexpensive the dinners were. I'm not sure where you can find a nice meal in a romantic setting for $10 or less per person, but this place should be on your list if you are on a budget. While the food is good, the real treat is the desert menu. It is hard to nail a good desert that is also gluten free, but the Garden offers some tasty treats!

The Garden is a quaint neighborhood restaurant in north Park Hill. They offer a fresh menu with a nice selection for vegans to omnivores. We enjoyed a small but nice selection of fresh, season, tasty salads, soup, entrees and desserts. The Garden offers a homey, pleasant evening out with delightful, caring service and no dishes to do oneself! With interesting, tasty, food served in reasonable portions (no huge amounts) at good prices, we felt like we were eating at home -- even felt as good as after eating one of our more thoughtful, balanced meal at home. If you want to get full without feeling grossly stuffed, try interesting dishes with fresh ingredients, and destress for a change without having to cook or clean, go to The Garden!

OH, please eat here!!! This is a totally yet-to-be-discovered hot spot!! The food is slow, organic, locally sourced and very clearly designed to suit all diet restrictions (well, not meat only). It's mostly vegetarian; however, I did note that you can request chicken. The items we ordered were all very new and different choices, which is refreshing to this vegetarian. :-) They also have just a few wines and beers, but all are great choices. Hurry in before they start to get too crowded!!
