We are from Raleigh and he attends ASU. He chose the restaurant. We were impressed the moment we drove into the parking lot. We loved the outdoor setting and then went inside to be treated to a beautiful, warm (fireplace going) atmosphere. The staff was wonderful! They took care of all of our needs, made great
suggestions for our dinner choices, and answered all of our questions. The service and food are cosistantly excellent. The servers are knowledgable, professional and unpretentious. The mixed grill is always a good way to start your meal. The dishes are unique but a diner can always find surprising choices for the picky eater as well as the more adventurous ones. I recall several seafood selections on prior visit. This time the only seafood entry was trout. We had a group of 6 men on a bicycling trip. Several ordered the trout and all were dissapointed in the dryness and lack of flavor. Portion size was very small. Most of us ate another meal after we got home. The group member who ordered rabbit was the only one that was satisfied with his portion and food taste. My wife and I ordered the Rabbit and Mallard Duck as entrees. Both were cooked spot-on and the accompaniments complimented the dishes well. We enjoyed the sunset views through the large windows during our meal. Our server, Gabriel was personable, attentive and respectful. A well-rounded wine list and terrific cocktails put the cherry on the top of our experience. They have perfected the art of ambiance, food and service to make it a top restaurant in our book. The food, the ambiance and overall setting is awesome. This time the waiter was below average. Upon taking the main dinner order, he was about to bring us our "wrong" dinner and then had to go to the kitchen and reorder both dinners that were wrong. Then for dessert he brought the wrong selection and then tried to recover by saying the Bread Pudding was on its way. To have both the meal and dessert wrong for the Gamekeeper is just not right.
