You will not be disappointed.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent. I would have likeExcellent. I would have like a larger serving of veggies or a side salad. The focus is definitely on the meat4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the innovation and combinatioLoved the innovation and combinations. The strawberry dessert was particularly good!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable Dining ExperienceWe took our family to Gamekeeper to celebrate our son's twenty-first birthday. We are from Raleigh and he attends ASU. He chose the restaurant. We were impressed the moment we drove into the parking lot. We loved the outdoor setting and then went inside to be treated to a beautiful, warm (fireplace going) atmosphere. The staff was wonderful! They took care of all of our needs, made great
suggestions for our dinner choices, and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful time and our son had a very memorable birthday.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful...Never disappointsAbsolutely our favorite restaurant in the High Country! The service and food are cosistantly excellent. The servers are knowledgable, professional and unpretentious. The mixed grill is always a good way to start your meal. The dishes are unique but a diner can always find surprising choices for the picky eater as well as the more adventurous ones. However, this is not a restaurant for small children.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOn my previous visit the selectionOn my previous visit the selection had seemed much better. I recall several seafood selections on prior visit. This time the only seafood entry was trout. We had a group of 6 men on a bicycling trip. Several ordered the trout and all were dissapointed in the dryness and lack of flavor. Portion size was very small. Most of us ate another meal after we got home. The group member who ordered rabbit was the only one that was satisfied with his portion and food taste. The two that got bison loved the taste but the portion was smaller than a hamburger.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThey are great at what theyThey are great at what they do. Although game is not my "cup of tea," I would go back for appetizers/dessert/drinks, etc. and just skip the entree.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for my wife's birthdayWe went for my wife's birthday and the food and service were excellent.
It was our first time but we will defintely be returning.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is the best! This restaurant is the best! Great service and Unique menu items that are all amazing choices make this a restaurant to come back to time and time again!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIts the best overall diningIts the best overall dining experience in the High Country4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Birthday DinnerThe menu offered a variety of "outside the norm" items such as rabbit, ostrich and mallard duck. My wife and I ordered the Rabbit and Mallard Duck as entrees. Both were cooked spot-on and the accompaniments complimented the dishes well. We enjoyed the sunset views through the large windows during our meal. Our server, Gabriel was personable, attentive and respectful. A well-rounded wine list and terrific cocktails put the cherry on the top of our experience. Overall, we enjoyed my wife's birthday dinner, and look forward for another "excuse" to visit the Gamekeeper again soon.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAs a foodie, Saturday nightAs a foodie, Saturday night at the Gamekeeper was one of our nicest dining experiences ever. They have perfected the art of ambiance, food and service to make it a top restaurant in our book. A very special place.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable gourmet cuisine! The entire appetizer portion of the menu followed by one of the specialty salads was all we each needed as a party of four to enjoy a wonderful evening at the Gamekeeper. Wish the chef would consider some of the main courses as a tapas menu as it would give us a chance to try something new without committing to a large and filling meal.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe overall experience wasThe overall experience was great. The only thing I wish was different was the heat. I was a bit chilly the entire dinner. The found was beyond outstanding and I am so glad I choose The Gamekeeper for my boyfriend's birthday.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat out of the way gem.Great out of the way gem. A little hard to find, but well worth it.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time here - what a treat.First time here - what a treat. Worth the drive on the mountain roads. It was fun to try new foods so well prepared!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to the GamekeeperWe have been to the Gamekeeper before and love eating here. The food, the ambiance and overall setting is awesome. This time the waiter was below average. Upon taking the main dinner order, he was about to bring us our "wrong" dinner and then had to go to the kitchen and reorder both dinners that were wrong. Then for dessert he brought the wrong selection and then tried to recover by saying the Bread Pudding was on its way. To have both the meal and dessert wrong for the Gamekeeper is just not right. He had been there about a year so being new was not the problem.1/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
