The French TableLarge portionsI went the The French Table on Mother's Day 2013 with six in my party. Two of us ordered crepes, two ordered Ceasar's salad, one ordered a burger, and one ordered pasta. The portions were much bigger than I expected on all items. The crepes were whole wheat, which was surprising to me, and thicker than any crepes I had had prior. The burger meat seemed too small for the size of the bun. We stopped for brunch on a Saturday morning, and then for dinner. In both instances the food was outstanding and our servers were great. Attentive without being intrusive.
At dinner we ordered risottos. One was with seafood and a saffron sauce. The other with diced filet mignon and wild mushroom sauce. The presentation was beyond outstanding. Again our servers were attentive, helpful but unobtrusive, and got us to the theater on time without feeling rushed. It was raining, which means that the outdoor tables that had been reserved were unavailable and all those people needed to be seated indoors along with all the others who had reserved. The staff was very busy and clearly working hard to keep everyone seated, happy, and fed. While we did have a moderate (not awful) wait for our food, the staff apologized and checked on us frequently. It was hard to be frustrated with them! The food as always was great...hard to believe the "Healthy Breakfast", which looks so bland on the menu, could be so yummy.
