A word from The French Laundry

Built in 1890 as a French Steam Laundry, this rustic two-story stone house is surrounded by a country garden planted with vintage roses, perennials and seasonal herbs. The French Laundry Restaurant has an intimate dining room with 15 tables. The dining time is 3-4 hours with two prix-fixe menus to… choose from. Reservations are taken two months in advance to the calendar date (i.e. Reservations for April 1st are taken February 1st). Jackets are required. No Jeans, Shorts or Tennis Shoes please.Continued

"Of course it doesn't get better than this. The food, as expected, was phenomenal, but what really blew me away was the service. The staff had personalities and were enormously engaging and funny. They made a superb experience sensational. The shad roe porridge was obscenely decadent; a sensual delight."

"The food was exquisite -- oysters & pearls and the bevy of desserts that followed at the end were notable favorites -- and the wine pairings were perfect not to mention THE best wine I have ever tasted. The service was perfection as well and more warm and gracious than I expected. French Laundry lives up to every bit of the hype. Bon appetit!"

"I had very high expectations and yet even those were blown away by the food, service, and our overall experience. The French Laundry is the true "happiest place on earth" for those that appreciate exquisite food and outstanding service. The portions and presentation were fantastic. To be perfectly honest, a base rate of $270 + tax seems like a very fair price for such an incredibly outstanding meal (less than $100/hr for the experience of a lifetime -a good massage costs more and I doubt it would have left me as blissed out and relaxed even days later!). It was all I could do to refrain from requesting a follow-up reservation while I was there. Chef Hollingsworth and his team were so warm and gracious. I can't wait to go back & soon."
