We had a wonderful birthday brunch at the French Kitchen and we had the entire dining room area to ourselves! It is a lovely room, the food was very good and the service was excellent. The only negative I would have is that the valet parking was $15 which seemed over-priced particularly since our car was parked right out front at the curb.

The dining room was absolutely beautiful. I loved the decor. It could have been warmer, however. The windows were very drafty, causing me to have to wear my coat the entire time. The cocktails were a bit limited, but the cucumber one I had was ok. The food, however, was outstanding. The duck was simply amazing, probably the best I've ever had. And the ravioli was just as delicious. With a few adjustments, this place would be perfect. We'll definitely go back.

I saw in the balt. sun a few weeks back your restaurant which caught my eye. I decided to call a few friends to meet for sunday brunch. As we entered the hotel lobby which beautifully decorated with Deco design with a mix of modern touches. We decided to have a cocktail at the bar in hotel. As we asked for a simple orange flavored vodka the bartender said sorry we don't have that. Even he could not make champagne cocktails. Not much selection there. We then entered the french kitchen which was visually stunning. The service was great, food was good. The only complaint was NO MUSIC. It was not to busy and very quit.

This is my first review of a restaurant. I read other peoples rewiews and sometimes I just get more hesitant/confused about weather to go there or not. In the end you don't know for sure if its a place for you until you try it. I like to try different food items and I had frog leg apps and wild boar ossobuco wife had french onion soup beet salad and the crab cakes Everything was ok soup was so so (weird for a "french" restaurant) Frog legs cooked perfect wild boar(pork) was also good. We took a cab to the restraurant but it looks like parking might be tight( may have to valet) Hope this helps

I chose this hotel specifically because of French kitchen. Nice environment and atmosphere, good service, good food. The only reason I gave 4 for food is because my lunch beet salad was not as tasty as it should be from my previous experience at other places, but presentation was good. Also, my seafood soup was tasty, but had so much pepper, that it interfered with taste. Breakfast and dinner were fine.

We went on a Saturday night, having 7:30 reservations. We were one of 5 tables, most of the patrons were singles. Our server was nice, attentive enough, but had very strong perfume on. (I don t think it was French). It was so quiet, our Conversation was stifled because it was so quiet. The room was not what we expected. Such a large, grand room, but with Bare tables and minimalist decor seemed to contradict each other. I ordered the beef bourginon. It looked like yesterday's Leftovers. It tasted very good, but lacked sauce, and finesse. The presentation was poor. I probably won t go back. We were So hopeful for a new restaurant to go to; we are always looking for something new and exciting. This is not i

Server Mina was wonderful in recommending culinary delights. I'm glad we found it before it becomes a crowded fine dining destination which it well-deserves to be.

I was looking for somewhere I hadn't been before and stumbled across The French Kitchen. The service was nice even though I had to wait to be seated because the greeter wasn't at the podium. The food was good; I had the canard and my date had the steak frites. The canard was a bit small but very good. All in all I had a good time.

This place is fantastic. The decor is absolutely gorgeous and the food was amazing. One thing that really irks me about fancy and popular restaurant in Baltimore is that you cannot enjoy your meal in peace because you are basically sitting on your neighbor's lap. Not at the French Kitchen. The dining room is very spacious and each table is sitting by itself. Big points for that. We started with the steak tartar, which was amazing. They add pine nut, which makes for an interesting twist on the traditional tartar. I had the steak frites, and it was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. Perfectly cooked and served with little mushrooms, a delicious sauce, and fries. My husband had the Boeuf Bourguignon and it was also delicious.

We decided to go to the French Kitchen because of the good reviews. The staff is not trained and the food was terrible. Firstly, we ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter brought out two glasses of wine. When asked, he said that he had opened the bottle in the back. He then said he had given us different wines. Wines we had not ordered. We had ordered the cheese and pernod fondue and it came cold. The waiter's assistant could not light the little candle, which by the way, would have never been strong enough to heat the fondue. I ordered Beef Bourguignon which was really just one short rib with dried vegetables. It was full of fat. Bread came after our first course. Strange evening, strange place.

Chef Kevin dazzled us with each of the six courses of our tasting menu. From the fennel pollen infused butter for the house-baked bread to the apple crumb pain perdu with crème fraiche ice cream we enjoyed French fare with fun modern touches. The kitchen smokes its own pork belly for the chacuterie selection (YUM!) Oh, and those frittes! Whimsical touches included caramel pop rocks and lavender sugar and so much more. The restaurant space feels like a palace diningroom - and the food is fit for royalty. Try it. You'll LOVE it.

The French Kitchen is located in the Lord Baltimore Hotel, a grand old dame that has been refurbished and looks wonderful. The ambience and decor of the lobby and dining room are nothing short of old-world beautiful with modern lighting. The room was large with high ceilings, gold leaf molding and curtained windows. Our waitress was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and caring. The manager and chef visited to make sure that the food and service met expectations. We ordered wine, soup, salad, veal, crab and scallops. The wine, a dry Malbec, was delightful with our various seafood and meat dishes. Aside from the fine restaurant, the hotel features valet parking, live piano, bar and a comptoir that were welcoming.

It had been many years since I had been in this dining room. They made a large open room feel cozy while you can still "people watch." The servers were attentive and relaxed. The fruit soup was wonderful for a summer afternoon and the quiche was light and tasty. It was a great place to have lunch with a friend and would be nice for a romantic dinner.

This French restaurant is located in the most beautiful space in Baltimore. Its food has some highs (roasted bone marrow) and lows (lamb chops with excessive fat). What the restaurant really needs, however, is a trained professional staff of greeters and servers. Its servers are young and to be fair, attentive, but they lack the experience and training one expects of a staff of a higher end French restaurant. The ambiance alone deserves another visit but it will not occur until later in the year. Hopefully, by then, the sophistication of the serving staff will be up to the level of the setting and food.

We had a great Restaurant Week feast at the French Kitchen. The food was superb. The service was even better. Our server, Mina, fluent in English and French, was very attentive. Chef Kevin came out and answered our questions about one of the menu items. He then gave us a tour d'horizon of his approach to French cuisine and his warranty that everything that comes out of the kitchen will be fresh and creative. We will definitely return and urge our friends to come down town and eat great French food in a royal banquet hall (but relatively quiet) environment.

I read the early reviews about bad service, etc. but later reviews sounded good so we decided to dine here. We arrived and the restaurant was not busy. It was a Saturday night so that was a bit troubling. We sat and it was almost 5 minutes before anyone brought water and menus. The length of delay between courses was way too long and the waiter for the most part couldn't be found. The host was so busy serving bread and water to tables he didn't notice what was going on and we couldn't get his attention either. Drinks from the bar were not consistent. Overall not a good experience. While the food was good, we expect a lot more from a restaurant when we dine out.

I took my husband to The French Kitchen to celebrate his 84th birthday. Neither of us had ever been there before. The room is exquisite; we felt as though we were in the restaurant at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. The service was excellent--caring but not suffocating. We liked the small menu because it made choosing easier. My husband had the steak tartare, which he thoroughly enjoyed, and he also had the onion soup, which he also liked. I ordered the steak frites, which were quite good. Do save room for desserts. We appreciated the peaceful environment because we could visit. Also, the chairs are most comfortable. It was especially nice that the chef came out and asked us how we liked our dinner. We plan to become regulars.

I must say I was very impressed by this place. I read some good reviews online but was blown away by the service and the food, from appetizers to dessert. The manager and chef even came out to ask how our food was, which was a first in my entire restaurant dining experience. The ambience was nice and relaxing and a perfect fit for our romantic evening. I knew the food would be delicious but I have to say that the canard and the Danish bread pudding were some of the tastiest dishes I've ever tasted. I feel like this place should be a lot busier but due to location and being inside a hotel it was fairly quiet and the noise level was low, but I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great food and desires a lovely evening

The Lord Baltimore Hotel seems dark and frankly a little uninviting in the lobby area. However, the Restaurant is bright, airy, quiet and comfortable. It is like stepping into another planet. While the menu is small, what they do, they do really well. We had a group of 6 and everyone loved their meals. I ordered a entree' size of their tartare. Very good! Wine list had a couple hidden deals...nice list overall. I'd go back again. The waiter from NJ did a bang up job as well...
