  • Catering: With a bubbling white pool and four seasonally-changing trees at each corner, the Pool Room is breathtakingly beautiful. Airy and romantic, it was designed by Philip Johnson and is one of the finest examples of architecture's International Style.

    The Pool Room features The Four Seasons' signature shimmering chain curtains and a collection of furnishings and tablewear that are part of the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection.

  • "As a great admiror of Mies van der Rohe, I have been dreaming of a lunch in his famous restaurant for years. And I have NOT been disappointed by the reality. As I am not a Park Av millionnaire, I have rather chosen the "simple" Lunch menu: everything was really delicious (and Swiss are gourmets), and even the wines (a Chardonnay and a Merlot from Califormia) were really outstanding (and in Switzerland we have very good wines). Sweet souvenirs from NY!"

  • "We are glad we went and we enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was interesting. He had a very dry wit which we at first appreciated but it began to get annoying when we had to ask for the check and were put off in a patronizing way. We expected to pay more than the value of the meal, as our goal was really the experience. We found this to be the case. It was actually a lovely place and the food was very good but I doubt we will return. "

Upon arriving, we were given a great table, and the restaurant was even more beautiful and sophisticated than I imagined. We were treated to very friendly and courteous service. I'm grateful for such a wonderful time, thank you to the management and staff of the Four Seasons for this memorable experience."

  • "Took my wife for her 50th Birthday celebration. We have been to The Four Seasons many times before and it never disappoints. However, our waiter was a bit dry. Everyone else was excellent and aside from the waiter, it was a wonderful experience. The prices have gotten very high, much higher than $$$$ . For example, my Rib Eye Steak was not what you would expect for $75.00 Dollars and certainly not nearly as good as one from Sparks or Peter Luger. If you're going to charge this much for a steak, make sure it is worth while. Some of the dishes are off putting, confusing and seemingly lacking innovation. On a positive note, my wife had the lobster special stuffed with crab meat which was to die for. Overall excellent experience"

Because this surely is the best restaurant in Manhattan, assuming you appreciate the finest food, service and ambiance. Nothing anywhere else in the US or elsewhere is better than this luxurious and historic restaurant. Always have nice conversations with service people and manager who, over time, we have gotten to know. The Pool Room is the greatest, relaxing, visibly terrific setting."

  • "I remember visiting here once with my family before I was of legal drinking age. Some five decades later I was searching for a restaurant near my hotel for a Friday lunch and couldn't resist the chance to revisit this iconic location. I'm glad I did. The service was gracious and warm. The food was very good. The decor is attractive and relaxing. I had white asparagus which brought back memories of April/May in Heidelberg, Germany. Soft-shelled crab was a special that day and they accommodated me with a smaller portion. I enjoyed a glass of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc with the seafood. You may not be a millionaire but dining here you can feel and be treated as if you were. I may have to include this restaurant on my future trips."

  • "This is truly one to NYc's Iconic Restaurants. The food and the service are top of the line. A must try is the Four Seasons Steak Tartare and the Crab Cakes. The Tartare is prepared at your table to order. Choose a table by the pool. And theres a good chance of seeing someone famous having dinner."

  • "Maybe it was the quiet, empty Saturday evening, but there was no pizzaz with the food or service. So not worth the price even for pretheater. Prosciutto and asparagus was so-so, but at least the nettle risotto made the snapper memorable. Desserts like one sees standard these days. Why have salt and pepper in little bowls? Bread was good, and the Newtown Chardonnay. Not much else to say."

The food was excellent and the service professional but not obsequious. the soft shell crabs and the asparagus soup were excellent and the duck skin was perfectly crispy. the chocolate dessert with ganache and icecream was decadent and not too sweet. I still find this a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion."

  • "It was my first time at the four season, It was my boyfriend's 50th birthday. We love the experience so much that we will be visiting again. The food was great so was the wine I had the duck he had the crab cake and for dessert I had the chocolate sufflet. Being that it is a Restaurant where people with black American express are the regular and this is not my case the staff still gave me the royal treatment. We had a blast!"

  • "The only reason my family ate there was that it was a place my mother had always wanted to eat at, but until this year we had managed to steer her milestone birthday dinners to Le Bernadin, or Jean Georges. At least we know she'll never want to go back. Service was horrible - at a restaurant of its purported level of standard, the staff knew nothing about proper service. They were constantly reaching across people to remove plates, serving the wrong entrees to people, and even managed to serve another table's coffee to our table and then asking, "is it ok for us to leave it here?" Food was average -- nothing modern or innovative -- and definitely not worth any mitigating points. No reason to ever go back."

The food had no flavor (seared tuna) and the service was rushed and prices are ridiculously high for the quality of the food. Management has the attitude that everyone is a tourist and you have no plans to return."

The first visit was during the week and the restaurant did not disappoint, this time we took our grown children for a celebration on a Saturday night and it was very disappointing. My youngest daughter who is studying Hospitality management in college was the most stunned at the medicore service and the waiters attitude considering where we were. Servers did not know who had what dishes and put the wrong plates down, it was as if we were in a busy pub, which would have been fine if the prices were commensurate. I feel bad saying this if the Four Seasons gets through their landlord issues and stays open. It still will be a long time before I return"

  • "Great food and service! A bit pricey great for a special occasion. We did the lunch in the pool room, great ambiance - a little smaller than I expected. I had the lamb barley soup as an appetizer which was delicious, followed by the Filet of Branzino with roasted cauliflower caponata again delicious. For dessert I had the chocolate soufflé another success! They actually bring the soufflé and the chocolate sauce and wiped cream on the side. Service was impeccable!"

Our party of four consisted of myself, my wife, my 6 year od daughter and my business partner. We received VIP treatment from the minute we walked in. Our captain was very friendly and helpful with suggestions, and everyone we met was great. The food was incredible. The service perfect. With the way things change over time, it's nice to see that their standards in food and service are stil top notch after 50+ years!"
