A word from The Four Seasons Restaurant – The Pool Room
"One bite is enough to make you moan"
- The New York Times

Beloved by locals and a must-see destination for anyone who enjoys celebrity sightings, the Four Seasons is the restaurant New York Magazine named the "city's greatest dining room."

Whether you're lunching poolside and enjoying the restaurant's deal-of-the-decade $59 prix fixe or looking for a delicious dinner destination that the New York Times raved "virtually defines American cooking," the Four Seasons offers something for every wallet.

An only-in-Manhattan icon that Zagat 2013 called "a calm oasis in throbbing Manhattan," the Four Seasons serves New American dishes, inspired by local fishermen and farmers.

Nice experience, but it was for a birthday and they forgot to bring the promised desert. They apologized for that. also had a tough time getting the bill. They work in teams and our primary waiter was occupied with other tables. Unfortunately, he was the only one that could bring the bill

I have been coming to four Seasons for over 35 years and as long as they have the Lear I will return. The staff are all tenured and experience which makes service superb. This trip though, was a letdown for two out of three that dined that night. The issue was the dried age steak entree which was not seasoned well, dry and flavorless.

This was my first time to visit New York and my first time to dine at the Four Seasons. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to both!! The Four Seasons was pricey but, the food and service were impeccable!!!! I probably won't return due to the price but, it was a 'once in a lifetime treat' and I highly recommend it.

We ate at the Four Seasons last week. All four of us had a starter course followed by a main course. all were perfectly prepared and presented. One outstanding dish was the duck for two. Without a doubt the best duck I have ever eaten. Service was spot on and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely be back, as my budget allows.

Classic power lunch in NYC. You never know who you might see. The foood and overall atmosphere remain strong, but they are in need of a refurbishment. The carpets are worn and the overall ambience is stepping back in time (and not necessarily in a good way). However, service is top notch. The food is consistently good. The Pool set lunch is good value for this sort of venue. Recommend the crab cakes, Asian inspired dishes and the desserts.

My law firm and I just moved in next door on Lexington Avenue and we treated ourselves to lunch at the Four Seasons. Each time I've been, I am always amazed (but never surprised) how wonderful the experience is - from the minute you walk in and have a cocktail at the bar, to being seated, to enjoying the menu, to ending the experience with an after meal coffee or cocktail. It is truly a timeless quintessential New York experience. Please let it always be so.

I was very impressed to discover Four Seasons' chef uses very modern cooking technique and Asian ingredient in his french dishes. The image of an old legendary place was completely removed from me and my guests. All items we tried were very light. Roasted (and smoked!) hairoom carrot salad was very light and tasty with a right amount of yogurt sauce. Their sea urchin pasta was the best I ever had in the town. You taste sea urchin and enjoy the creaminess while it is prepared without any cream or butter, very impressive.

I have traveled all over the world and eaten in thousands of restaurants. The food was very good, but nothing extraordinary. Surprised to see plastic spoons sitting inside the silver salt and pepper shakes....(?) and our table top was leaning like the Tower of Pisa (?). I would anyway go back for the food, which is the important part !!!!!!!!!!!!

How perfect to have my first experience of The Four Seasons on the first day of Autumn. I'm both a food and architecture buff from Wisconsin, and my "starter" was to sit on a marble slab in the crisp air on the plaza of the Seagram Building and just take it in. I got to experience the Grill Room from the bar before California friends arrived for lunch in the Pool Room. Great food (fresh oysters, grilled branzino, Meyer lemon cake) and service from a veteran waiter who knew it all. The night before, a character on the premiere of "The Good Wife" pushed to make a phone call from jail. The jailer snarled, "This ain't The Four Seasons." But, for us, it was. Perfect timing.

From the moment you are greeted to the moment you leave you are well taken care of. The staff were very nice and the food was sensational. It's perfect for a romantic dinner or a dinner with friends/family. They have a great wine list and the dessert was to die for. Go for the chocolate sufle or the mango sundae. The ambiance was perfect with just enough fluff to make you feel special, but not over the top by any means. To commemorate the occasion, I was brought a huge puff of cotton candy with a birthday candle, which was a nice touch. I'll be returning to the Four Seasons in the future.

We recently took a client here for lunch, and it was such a great experience. We didn't have to shout, the staff was attentive, and the prix fixe 3-course lunch had delicious choices. It was only my 2nd time there, but I now know how consistent they are with excellent food and service. I highly recommend.

We returned to this restaurant after many years, and we were underwhelmed and disappointed. The ambience remains wonderful. Service staff were generally attentive, but friendliness was uneven among the staff. The food was unremarkable and not worth the price. I could get the same quality food from many restaurants in the city, for half the price. I asked for a glass of white wine, which was nothing special, and found out when I received the check that it cost $45. The cotton candy dessert which was presented to everyone, looked nice, but it still was just cotton candy- fluff with no substance. While the restaurant tries to appeal to people celebrating special occasions, one is left feeling it was not worth the hype at all.

You were never paying exorbitant prices for the food - the food was good but you could get more interesting, better executed food elsewhere. You go for the experience and the service. But the past few times I've been, the service has been sloooooow. Not UES, older crowd enjoying their food slow but like our waiter forgot about us slow. And for the insane prices you pay, they should at least be paying attention to you. Not worth it anymore.

We've been going to the Four Seasons for ~35-yrs. We dined on the last night that Le Tricorne a canvas 19 feet high that Pablo Picasso painted for a production by the Ballets Russes, was being removed. It was an emotional night, but a telling one. It's sad to see the restaurant getting tired. The food is still very good, but without the panache of years ago. It is a very beautiful place and I'm happy to have gone but it needs to be refreshed.

This is likely the 10th time I have been there over its long history. Go for a special occasion...this was our 25th Anniversary...we hadn't been in at least 10 years. It has changed from what we remembered last time, this remodel, a little more austere. The Dover Sole is our favorite dish...still outstanding, even at $65. Service impeccable as always. Still a must go, if you've never been.

We had not been here in several years and were looking forward to top service and wonderful food Instead we had a waiter who hadn't a clue when asked to describe what was on the menu The green bean salad was bland and unimaginative The main dishes were nicely prepared but nothing special And my dessert which was described by the waiter as a peach cake turned out to be a dried out stale pecan bar . This dinner was for a special birthday and was so not worth it . They need to step up their game . The four seasons has become a relic of the past

My wife and I spent the first evening of our three-day trip to New York City at Four Seasons. As the three days came to an end, we wish we would have saved Four Seasons for last. Every meal afterward could not live up to the richness of flavor, impeccable service, and romantic ambiance of Four Seasons. The filet mignon, was so tender and full of flavor. It was lightly topped with a rich pesto sauce, and drenched in a savory beef broth. The potato-chive puree and crabmeat-stuffed zucchini were exquisite accompaniments, full of flavor and delightfulness. The roasted cod, was surprisingly more delectable than other cod we have eaten, and the corn-jicama salsa, razor clam vinaigrette that topped it helped bring out the full flavor of the cod.

We came here on an Monday night in late August with our 2 college aged kids to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We arrived at 6:15 and left at 7:45 to get to our show. They have a $75 pre-theater menu which was great. Not surprising the pool room was almost empty when we arrived but by the time we left it was half full. It is such a wonderful, timeless space. Service is friendly and top notch here. Very professional. The food, very good. The cotton candy birthday cake is worth the price of admission. As an added bonus we got to pose in front of the Picasso tapestry before they reportedly removed it later that week.
