The Four Seasons Restaurant – The Pool RoomFour SeasonsGreat Food and Service. Pool Room was fantastic. Great value with Pre Teater special. Also, wonderful treat for special occasion. We tried wish, oysters, fantastic crab cakes and very unexpetedly delicious chicken soup.

It is enormously reassuring to see that what I always cherished remains in place: Great place, great food, excellent service and THE place for a special occasion.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA great night outThis restaurant is perfect for a lovely evening with family and friends. Great ambiance in the Pool Room. Excellent duck entrée. Always something unusual and special on the menu. And the soufflé is always a hit. One of my favorite NYC places.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFive stars for the Four Reasons! The Four Seasons is a landmark NYC restaurant that, 54 years later, still delivers in all areas: food, cocktails, ambiance and service! It was our anniversary and not only did they accommodate us by seating us right off the pool, they brought us complimentary champagne before dessert and attended to our every need. The staff was friendly, polite and engaging. The food was delicious; I had the rabbit and my boyfriend had the steak. We both also had a Manhattan and it was smooth and delicious. The highlight of course, aside from the space itself, was dessert...I ordered the chocolate souffle and he ordered the grand marnier souffle! They were baked to perfection. If you live here or are visiting, this institution is a must!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our experienc...fWe really enjoyed our experienc...food was great and the service was outstanding.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe duck is as good as I rememberThe duck is as good as I remember it, and there is not a bad seat in the house.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always..........TERRIFIC. The food and service could not have been better and my daughter loved her cotton candy!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fantastic andThe food was fantastic and the service was perfect. I would have given it a four stars overall except...the rudeness we experienced when we were leaving the restaurant. We were the last table to leave the restaurant and when I expressed surprise at this the woman who got my coat for me gave a surly: "Next time you can plan accordingly." Not so sure there will be a next time for us but if you plan on going, go early so your exit doesn't ruin the night.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMNational LandmarkWhat else can be said about a national landmark? The food was so good I had sweet dreams about it. Our server was fantastic. The ambiance was over the top.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming pool room. Menu somewhatCharming pool room. best lobster i have had and i spend a lot of time in Maine4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm not much of a reviewerI'm not much of a reviewer but this is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Old-school - and I mean that in a good way! Excellent service (attentive but not obtrusive) and delicious food. My go-to meal is the Dover Sole; my husband likes the bison. It's a great place to go for a special occasion. We went there for our anniversary last October and for our birthdays in April (love the cotton candy!). We brought the "kids" - our son had the lobster which he said was fantastic. Nice wine list and the mixed drinks are good - not watered down. We'll be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was perfect. HadEverything was perfect. Had great service, food and wine4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing service! Great food!Amazing service! Great food! One of the great designs from the pool room to the building itself. A historic gem with great food and super attentive service. Julian and his staff always makes us feel special. Highly recommended.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAs good as it could possiblyAs good as it could possibly get!! Lobster was outstanding.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place for a Special Night OutIf you are looking for a special night out, this is the place to be. Food, service, ambiance are all top notch. There is no rushing through your meal here, and the staff is very attentive...if you're lucky you'll have Italo as your server. He was awesome!
We had Dover Sole and Filet Mignon, both excellent choices. The oysters were also very good.
This is always a favorite place for me to celebrate, and well worth the money.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinary!Food was perfection, service could not have been better: professional, warm & friendly. There's not a single negative thing I could say about this extraordinary venue!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMUsed to BeMany of the trappings of the now formerly great restaurant remain. Timeless room, changing predictably with each season (has it really been over 200 seasons?). Though the regulars use their black Amex cards for lunch, alas the evening crowd no longer even pretends to dress appropriately - jeans and sloppy outfits abound. You want to see expensive outfits? Go to Harry Cipriani for lunch (don't eat there, just have two beers and a snack for $100, sit at the bar and look at the women). The service we receive has always been utterly friendly and professional, though the turnover in staffing is astounding. We are treated royally; have been so for 40 years. It's just that the magic has faded, even though we are still in love.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with my husband - weI went with my husband - we wanted to celebrate our 7th anniversary of meeting in New York and couldn't have picked a better place. The room is stunning, the high ceiling, soft furnishings and the pool make for a wonderful ambience that is particularly soothing for diners more used to the hard surfaces and accompanying noise of more modern restaurants. The food was delicious, my dover-sole was cooked to perfection and served simply with a side of creamed spinach. The food was served with flair but without fuss, and all the waiting staff were delightful and helped make this one of the best dining experiences we've ever had.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service,Excellent food and service, Louis McCullagh was especially attentive.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Four Seasons was my BirthdayThe Four Seasons was my Birthday celebration dinner. It was spectacular!! I felt like a princess and the food was wonderful. I honestly cannot think of anything that could be improved.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!!My family and I were celebrating my 50th birthday and it was wonderful! We especially enjoyed Guiseppe and Anthony, they were fabulous! The experience exceeded my expectations! The only thing that could have been better was the ladies room, it's a long walk down the stairs and across the lobby.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I were veryMy husband and I were very happy to have had the chance to dine at the Four Seasons. We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary and this capped off our trip to NYC nicely. Our experience started in the lovely Bar room where the bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. We learned about the history of the building, restaurant and architecture. When we moved to the Pool Room for our dinner service, Guiseppe, couldn't have been more attentive and personable. I felt like we had been dining here for fourty years! My husband had the roast duck, and I had the short ribs... among the other items we had... delicious!!
If you only experience it once in your lifetime the Four Seasons is a MUST do when you are in the city.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways one of the best inAlways one of the best in NYC! Superb service and dining in the Pool room.
My guests were impressed...with the fare and souffles!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMQuintessential New York classicThis is a New York classic that you must try. The mid-century design and urbane atmosphere is quintessential Manhattan. The service is superb and the food excellent. If you are a couple, you can sit side by side and have a great view of the room across the pool. Be prepared to be thoroughly entertained with the people watching. My partner and I will make a point of returning at least once a season.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a bad anything at thisNever a bad anything at this restaurant. And worth every penny of the sky high bill.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can never go wrong withYou can never go wrong with anything here. The service is impeccable. The food is incredible, from the bread basket (raisin bread is the best) to desserts and espressos, couldn't have been more perfect! The special of the day were bay scallops which were amazing. We also had the sole, branzino, scallop wonton appetizer, and burrata/beet salad, we recommend all of them. One minor thing, the kitchen folks accidentally left a bit of plastic on the burrata that I ate and almost choked on. Nonetheless, nothing but positive things to say. Would love to dine here again. Nothing good comes free, so be prepared to pay a large bill :) Well worth it though!1/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Four Seasons never letThe Four Seasons never let me down. I hate to rate it appropriately because more people will select it and will be even harder to get than it is now!
